  1. Maybe I need to go over to the Klipsch Data Thread you reference and start reading. The Museum post counts are so small compared to the regular forum that I have just kind of ignored them. To be honest I am kind of regretting even beginning this and it certainly was not my intent to heap more on Jim who already has more then he can handle on his plate. What started out as a thought I had while I was going through files looks to have been done in part already. I think I would just like this thread to go away so one of you Mods know how to make it happen
  2. That's fine with me. So what is the protocol here? Submit to him and he verifies and posts ?
  3. I will have to look those up. That was way before I was really interested in Klipsch.
  4. Some of this came from Time Machine crawls looking for klipsch info on relevent years. Others were where I found them and I did not record sites. None of the info is authored by me.
  5. Here is another example. Most of us know about the codex but did you know there was another one with different info? Thanks @001 for pulling the PWK Papers reference. It does remind me though that I need to pay more attention to that section of the forum. ZZKLIPSCH_SERIAL_NUMBERSV2(1).doc
  6. Of course the PWK papers are relevant to Klipsch history. But they are already covered in the forum. Here are four examples of things I found hard to find either at all or in decent resolution. Evolution of Cornwall.pdf Quartet Floorstanding Speaker.pdf LSI split complete.pdf CW Time Line MK 070522.pdf
  7. By the way I would appreciate the two posts on PWK papers being removed.
  8. I am not interested in PWK paper type things as that is not at all my intent. It would be on specific vintage or pro speakers. I intend for the subject material to be focused on those needing to know about specific speaker models. There are dibs and dabs of things in the forum but you can spend days trying to find that topic you once read here. It seems search engines are broken everywhere into something that finds everything but what you asked for.
  9. I thought about that but I remember how rare my visits there are. It is more technical then historical in some cases so it is a mix of both. I don't want it off to the side where many do not go.
  10. I was sitting here today going through some Klipsch files I have accumulated over the years. Some I have found once and never can find them again and finding them the first time was a lot of hassle. So what I am proposing is to start a thread with sub categories relevant to specific speakers as a sort of clearing house for information. I know how hard it is to find some info and I am betting many here have had this problem too. Any interest? Before I do I have a problem. Much of what I found was in PDF format which I can post. The other option would be to take screen captures and post those but I have no idea how much storage I have left on the Klipsch server. How do I find out what is left for my storage?
  11. I was asked by Khornucopia, a poster on this thread if I minded him posting similar wood. I start threads and sometimes more then half the fun is seeing how many directions it can go. You never have to worry about me giving you the stink eye and if I need a serious answer quickly I know I will be treated right. I have to admit I thought of Turner and Hootch with that big dog flapping lip thing and so that was my reward for the day here. Picturing the windows in the house and cars. at @StevePaul
  12. "On a Forte" is how the sentence should have ended. I tried going back and editing the sentence and soon got a basic to much time has passed for you to edit your comment. If I read that right that is super good news.
  13. Just FYI. I ruined one of those 80 watt pc Onkyo amps by listening to Toccata in D Minor with bass turned up. Awful noise came out and the amp shut down. Being new to me I did it again and then figured out that wimpy amp could not push a Forte if bass was turned up.
  14. Here is a set I finished recently that is the prettiest wood I have had the privileged of working with.
  15. I took a screen capture of this one just for grins and giggles.
  16. If they were closer they would be mine. I have been looking for a set for some time.
  17. I see my earlier response was deleted. While going through the thread though I am amused to see once again how he goes back and changes bad or wrong info to nothing. Lots of blank posts follow this guy.
  18. Hey a bit tongue in cheek but it is my home (shop) theater. Speakers change often sometimes and right now here is today's speaker line. Then we have theater seating And finally the control and command center.
  19. In the for what it is worth category. I bought a set of 100watt 8ohm Eminence L-Pads recently. I have yet to hook them up but one of the things that caused me to want to try is the recessed plastic box that lets you route a hole in the cabinet and the L-Pad is flush mount and does not stick out. The other thing is there is almost a detente feel to changing the ohm value and at least right now while brand new I can literally count tactile "clicks" as I turn the knob. The 50 watt PE L-Pad is constantly requiring re-balancing. When I get around to it I will see if counting clicks yields consistent Ohm values.
  20. Somehow NY seems a good fit for you. Where in NY if I might ask?
  21. I could swear I have drift with my L-Pads and the center stage can move when I turn the system off and then start again the next day. You have a Xilica right? I set mine up on my two way Saturday using the same slope, crossover point and 2nd order Linkwitz as my passive crossover has. I have good gain settings now just have to find out how to use them for resistor values.
  22. I would not do one thing to CW4's. Every problem the CW's had from CW1 to CW3 have been solved. ALL those old legacy problems have been fixed.
