    F20 braces

OK why all the holes in the braces?
  2. Kirby and James have been hear recently and I forgot to get a picture of James but Kirby got his mug saved next to the fat guy. Boy I have to start losing weight. He told me what song I have to play first in Hope.
  3. A Heresy I and all I have done is change the tweeter out to SMAHL V2 with DE-120 and recapped with Sonicaps. This is hands down the best one I have ever seen and it is 1981 "W" production with soldered lug mid drivers. Check out the tag and owners papers still there.
  4. Working on a set of HIP's I can bring to SWAG. SMAHL with DE120, soldered lug mids, recapped and I am surprised at how much bass these have. Never had a set before.
  5. Sad thing is this. Since he WAS the owner and had all the stands, 402 pieces, SN's etc to prove he was legitimate he could have ordered new ones from Klipsch to replace the busted ones. He threw away the pieces and did not know this until I told him about it.
  6. Thanks but I had a chance to buy that one from Tim and passed. It was to far to drive for one horn. Tim sold me some 415 bass bins and regaled me with the sad tale of seven of eight 402's broken to pieces in shipping. This is the only one that made it intact
  7. You need to sell those suckers off and move up to Jubes.
  8. Rats, just saw Chris's post so you snooze you lose. Busy working on a set of HIP's for SWAG with SMAHL's, soldered lug K-55's, recapped crossover and Duratex so out in the shop while the goodies get away.
  9. Hmmm I was wondering why @Schu and @Randyh were posting since they were not attending. This is SWAG and not Garage Sales guys.
  10. Meaning the KI-102's? They are the only slant things in the list. Unless you are referring to the KPT 100's and 200's.
  11. I do have one other set but it is not for sale.
  12. I can bring any of the following if people are interested. Heresy HIP, KP-201, KPT-200 and 100, along with some KPT904's with 510 horns (should be done fixing them by then), a single really fine Forte II recapped and with an LMAHL V2 + DE-10 driver in it if someone is looking for a center channel. I have a rack of gear from a Behringer DSP to Ashley EQ to Mike amps and a DBX Drive rack and can provide pictures if interested. I also have three KI-102's recapped and in great shape and these small boxes are heavy hitters for their size. I have two H-700's that are one year apart and the veneer is different. They will be recapped and could work as center channels for someone. Otherwise I may sell the components and make super Heresy's out of the boxes. I also have a set of Super Heresy's and this is the last version in the Super Heresy thread by Claude with the woofer Mookie suggested using. I have the finest set of HBR's with slant risers I have ever seen. 1981 model and yes they have the soldered lug drivers. This thing is over the top in condition. The tag on the back says display and still has the owners papers in the envelope on them. I have replaced that inadequate K-77 with my SMAHL and they sound good. Crossover recapped of course. I had thought about making the best example of a super Heresy anyone has ever seen but because of the condition and owners papers blah blah have held off. I have bits and pieces also which I may decide to sell and if so I will get the info up. I am not bringing any of this stuff unless someone has a specific desire to see and perhaps purchase and anything of interest to anyone I will get pictures up here. I may also have a La Scala done by then. It will have the sides replaced with 25mm Baltic Birch and I might extend the top section while I am at it to allow for one of my LMAHL V2 sets to be installed in there. If not a set of SMAHL V2's will go in. Recapped crossovers with AA type minus Zeners and soldered lug drivers for the mid. I don't remember what the woofers are off hand and when I get into them again I can post that info if anyone is interested. These I may bring in any case just so people can hear the difference these mods bring to the table.
  13. Those old cloth grille 301's make the finest sounding 301's I have ever had.
  14. Good information is so hard to find on the web. There is a ton of it out there but you have to be familiar enough with the topic to have a good BS filter. I have viewed that video and others and deleted them when done. Either there are darned few videos on this topic or Googles broken search algorithms keep taking you back to the same clips they make money on and they seem to be OK at best. Good points on your comments Chris and I am grateful you are willing to help online and in person at SWAG.
  15. I will bring what I normally drink and it is nothing really exceptional. Best coffee I ever had was from S&D some years ago. Costa Rican Terrazu and it still leaves an impression in my mind. Then it seems quality went downhill and I cant find that great bean anywhere now. S&D was bought out and turned to crap just like every other buyout seems to do to companies.
  16. feet. Now I did not measure it but that is my memory. All four speaker types were lined up in the center of the room and a good distance out from the wall behind them.
  17. I have not done a thing yet except get some brackets burned and bent for mounting the 510 horns on the bass bins. I intend to dig into this further soon since I have a pile of these to make right. I am going top try an HF crossover like the ones on the KPT-456 since I have the material on hand to build some. Those 456's were stellar and with all the good things I have heard about the 510's it is just a matter of finding out what works. Active crossovers are something I am learning about along with REW and I am kind of waiting until SWAG where I hope to learn much more about these tools. I think the very best sound is with actives but better sound than I currently have can be had with passives to.
  18. Sorry about that I misread the spec sheet and it was the tweeter that has the Ti. Looking for my cup of coffee now so I can wake up before typing more nonsense.
  19. I re-wrote that line on the Ti diaphragm as it did not quite say what I intended to. Roy did something to make these work right.
  20. The h4's were very musical. I am not a fan of smaller Ti diaphragms but in this case what I heard was very good. Port stuffing and all that rigamarole are not needed with these and the H4 is the aggregate of ALL the things Roy has done and it just sounds good. If it were me and I went to hear a set of these and did not like them I would not consider tinkering with them. At that point in time I would have to say the smaller speaker was not capable of the sound I wanted and move on to something bigger. Bigger is better but the H4 certainly stretches that small box for all it's worth.
  21. I was there too and the H4 was a dramatic improvement over the 3. The other thing to think about was that Roy had these maybe 10' off the back wall. If they had been close to a corner the bass would have been even better.
  22. The first thing you need are huge speakers and then you can get rid of all the rest. When you think about it you replace all those accumulated bits and pieces with just one set and it becomes not only economical but space saving as well.
  23. I sit at floor level about 12 to 15 feet back and the centers are 20 feet left to right for both the MCM 1900's and the SMWM's
