  1. His prices are way too low, sounds like a flipper to me. I'll stay away.
  2. Ninjai, I have a pair of RF3's also and was looking into upgrading them, What mods did you do to the crossover?
  3. I also have a pair of 3's and love them.. In all original form. Has anyone here upgraded them? I am thinking new caps and maybe trying to replace the tweeter with a D220Ti.. Any thoughts?
  4. So who is gonna get the start tomorrow at Running Back? Ronnie Hillman and CJ Anderson have been battling for the starting position.

  6. Three names come to mind for Cornscala Gurus: Bob Crites, Justin Webber, and Dave Harris.
  7. DeanG, I wouldn't sweat this P.O.S.. He is just here to stir things up..
  8. Thanks for the info Jim. I just wanted an opinion. I have used both, the yellow and the whites...personally I like the white ones.
  9. Have I singled anyone out? I have been personally attacked on here several times, it's a forum I don't let it bother me. Have you singled out this forum we are in?
  10. Sloth, its seems like you are the only "AUDIOPHOOL" in this forum! You talk a good one. Watch what you say about others. It will come back to you.
  11. Best is never the right word to use because people hear things differently. I buy and use Dayton for crossovers and I like the response they give. I once used a Dayton in the output stage of an amplifier and did not like the sound at all. An Elna electrolytic audio cap sound a lot better with a better soundstage. For the price a Dayton is going to be hard to beat. My understanding is they are made by Bennic. Are you referring to the black and yellow Dayton caps, or the White 1% caps? Is there any audible difference between the 2?
  12. So then, which are the best metalized caps? Dayton? Solen? Audiocap?
  13. Timing does affect the sound. It might be measured in milliseconds, but it is audible.. especially with a long mid horn and short tweeter horn such as the K-77. I am very surprised this is not a major complaint with K-Horn owners.
  14. The Forte ii should have much better bass and a more refined sound overall.
  15. I have a pair of Forte ii's and a pair of RF-3's. Both sound nice, but the Forte ii's sound a little bit better for 2 channel music listening. I still like the Reference series however. I just can't seem to part of them, they are keepers also.
  16. I have seen a few sell in the LA area for 500-800. People ask more, but they dont seem to sell.
  17. I made a Cornwall clone also. I used JBL D140 15 inch woofer, Selenium D250X midrange drivers and Selenium D220Ti for tweeters.. Horns are a dime a dozen ( choose what best suites your needs and room specs ) for both mid at tweeters. Crossover can be made from blue collar cash. These sound better than my Cornwall II's.
  18. how can you tell if they are ploy or titanium just by looking at them once taken apart?

wow that's an eyesore. not quite up to par for a garage speaker, but might make an ok tool shed speaker.
  20. Sounds good Jim. I too, have recently posted a few things this week about my Forte II's being a bit bright and or " harsh " in the tweeter.. hence the eagerness for a comparison.. no rush bud.
  21. Nice score! You didn't waste any time upgrading them. You found your way around here pretty quick. Hope you enjoy the Forte II's. Now it's time to just sit back and enjoy.
  22. Ok great news! So now the question, how do you like the improvement ? I have a pair of Forte II's also, and thinking about doing the same upgrade.
