  1. I wish I was as cool as thebes.
  2. Do I think Klipsch are the absolute best? No. I'm not so cynical that I think one thing is "best." Working in retail specialty stores of any variety should teach someone that. Do I think Klipsch are cheap? Absolutely not. However, do I think Klipsch are good speakers? Absolutely. Great even. For what I enjoy, they sound the way I want them to sound. For the money I spent, they sound the way I'd expect them to sound. The last line there is the ONLY line of this post that should matter. And to me, it is. Klipsch on!
  3. Gorm, do you have any interest in those speakers? Would you want to go in on them with me? 2 x RF-5's 1 x RC-3 4 x RS-3's 1 x RSW-15 I'm especially interested in the 15, and a pair of the RS-3's.
  4. RP's were single 6.5/8" speakers. KS surrounds also had a different emblem on them. It's more likely these are RF/S/C-3's and an RSW-10 or 12.
  5. I suppose if he finds a buyer that's got shag carpet and pastel walls, he's all set then...
  6. You don't know where that's been!
  7. I must not have looked at the DIN on my Promedia recently, as I swear it's 9 pin. Klipsch emails tend to take about a week or three to get back. At least, that's my personal experience (but I might add the support I get back is always exactly what I needed.)
  8. Sent an email on the speakers...figured I'd at least find out what he's wanting for that system...
  9. A fair bit better. They use the same horn as the RF-7's, are a bit more efficient and were actually manufactured in Hope. They're definitely the better speaker of the two.
  10. It's a fascinating time for sure. Some of the most intricate forms of art and architecture sprung up around this time...love it.
  11. I'd have to agree. Constantinople was the gateway to the west for many centuries. I think it is largely underplayed by Rome - logistically and Biblically it is more of a staple of holy land than Rome would be. Architecturally it's a marvel as much as Rome is as well. Sure you have the Pantheon, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican (to name a few), but you have things such as Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. Not only that, but I think if there is one thing that totally encompasses the idea of the pain and suffering of Europe at the fall of that city - it's the Janissaries. That's a painful story as well, and I think it embodies that harrowing feeling of Europe at the time. Good stuff on there...I'll have to read into it a bit more with my accompanying texts. (There's nothing better than a good ol' fashioned book!)
  12. Oh the humanity!!! Haha, that's alright...I followed it. I know that I'm damned to eventually own a pair of LaScala's and a pair of Belle's...it's inevitable.
  13. I'm honestly surprised that hasn't happened yet - especially Conan or Jimmy...both seem to do that a lot. However, this does have me wondering - what if someone who was so against quarantine started have people around them getting sick one by one. Isn't the saying "better safe than sorry?" You're dealing with a virus that is capable of mutating, I'd think this would be a situation to follow that rule.
  14. Actually, government historian. I'm presently working on getting involved with the Rock Island Arsenal. Wish I'd done that. My weakness is late Roman and Byzantine history. Totally critical to the formation of the modern world and so unknown to most. Dave I must admit, that is a similar weakness of mine. However, if it's in relation to Byzantine art...I'm fairly decent at understanding and identifying it.
  15. that's why god created credit ma boy! That is a four letter word to a student with $75000 in loans. lol Welcoem to the madness. I was glad that a pair of speakers sold so I would not buy them. Kind of sad. What degree did you get for yoru $75K? Been there done that. lol That's the really sad thing - I'm still working on it. :\ Well, when you figure out what you are studying, let us know! I'm a history major (ph.D track)...I'm just...not done yet. lol
  16. They call them POLICE...and trust me, they will find you and "quarantine" you in a jail cell until you're free of that nasty side-effect.

  18. You actually have no idea...finding a place for it would be my next big issue. A buddy of mine had one, and I swear it was as if I never heard music before.

  20. My wallet is saving me from the brand of addiction you fine people have. Lol
  21. When I started on this forum in August - not that long ago - I had five Klipsch reference speakers in my bedroom. That was it...that was all of the Reference stock I had. Oh sure, I had my quintets in the office...and Jamo speakers from before they were Klipschborne - but pittance compared to some of you lot. Somehow...I now am touting a 7 channel reference setup in one room, a 4 channel in another, a 5 channel setup in the living room, and a 2 channel in another room...all Reference. 5 to 18 in shy of 3 months. I hope you're all very satisfied with yourselves! PSH!
  22. Dully noted Zako, you're a bigot - we understand. It's real hard to respect your elders when all they do is run their mouth. There are a good amount of people who'd still be alive today if better enforcement of border security was in place, that includes in the matter of Ebola - or are you going to sit here and tell us we're wrong about that too? I wonder what the families of these people would say about that - or the family of the officer that was murdered by an illegal alien-twice-deported. Tch...but whatever, you're the only person who can be right and smart here. That's the problem with the internet, everyone thinks they're a damn expert on everything...
  23. "...and it shall be known as Clubola...and there will be much rejoicing across the lands..."
  24. Actually I look for Promedia to get canned in the next few years - with all of the issues it has.
  25. Do basic troubleshooting. Check the line...try a swap - if that doesn't do the trick, I'd return the sub for a new one. My Polk had a bad amp in it as well, a swap will do the trick for you.
