  1. I'm sorry, I don't know. The thing here is we are totally surrounded by tall pines, with small areas cleared for homes, so my vertical viewfield is very narrow. Never see em. Lars
  2. Is it possible, after the basic filing anyway, that I would do w a pneumatic 1/4" die grinder, lacking that, graduated coarseness flat files, and then some hand sandpaper on appropriate sized blocks smoothing while watching TV, this is being overfocused on?? You may need to be starting with a coarser cut file. Yes, I understand it's not just a ridge burr, but a "step" Hey just my thinking, what do I know. Lars
  3. I actually called the base in LA some months ago, that I believe they originate from, and asked them to fly lower here. Duh, no effect, like i assumed. But I tried. Lars.
  4. Ha ! Very cool, figures you'd be the first to comment. I envy your past work. "The Best of the Best , Sir" I love and revere this stuff sooo much. Awesomely cool shit. Lars
  5. A few days, every week for some years now, , we here in "Deep E TX" at the LA border, have practicing fighter jets flyover our neighborhood. Sometimes pretty low (my favorite) Rarely, but ocassionaly VERY low. Break my windows Babies. I'll gladly replace them. It's SO cool, usually , once they get going, like one 10 seconds after the next. The awesome thing is, of course, the lower they are, the less time you hear them coming. Sure, you can hear them leaving for MUCH longer time, but they come over you with like 1 second evidence, actually less, they are there. Death in the air, LOVE it. Lars
  6. I keep pushing exploring the UShip nationwide option for ( "overweight" or size for most carriers stuff) like BIG speakers and such, because it worked SO well for me and a few others I'm aware of. NO crating or packaging needed, "white glove service" w blankets available at decent $. I could not have been more pleased with the service/ safety of shipment to $ ratio cost. Just be discerning checking out the individual specific bidder provider. Lars
  7. Thank you Dtels wife, dwilawyer and all others volunteer involved in all the work. Lars
  8. It seriously seems to me Sheltie dave needs to be asked for consult. He seems be be pretty close to this stuff. And reward him even though not asked. " Money left on table" if he is not engaged. Lars
  9. The Lowther Hegeman - A single, only one cabinet? I think the sale mentioned above was for a pair, plus a center console of sorts, three seperate cabinets,, and at quick glance, went for 22k. Lars
  10. What comes to my mind is - the wider the advertising is of this sale, the more the proceeds for everyone., my main concern, the Museum. On one hand, "Duh". But what I'm saying is there has to be an effort to notify the wider prospective bidder base over and above JUST putting on Ebay. ****** Oh, and of course the Ebay auctions should be longest time term possible, for alll reasons.****** Yes, this has been mentioned above, but I just want to reinforce this idea, and offer my help. I love to dig for obscure info on the net, it's one of my things. I have the time. I may not be aware of all of the search tricks out there, but have the advantage of time, perseverance, and interest. The desirability ( selling prices) of these items could be ALL over the board on this stuff, some pennies, some MAJOR $. Would be not good to leave "money on the table" by not thoroughly exposing to the widest number of valid prospects. I am willing to put time into any research if asked, Lars
  11. I was going to post this in the"right now" subforum, that I've never posted in before, but felt it was more important in a number of ways. OK, my opinion. Flame all you want, I'm big enough. I am a 59 yr White old male living in "Deep E TX". I know I learned from it. The point is, Parents, encourage your children in pursuing their gifts. Whatever they may be. "Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life" Unlike mine, that said I needed to be a Doctor or Lawyer. I never heard or thought that concept till I was 55 +, too late A final coffin nail in the above thinking........ Lars
  12. Anj, and Clint Eastwood -- And Clint keeps going, Gran Torino, and now directing the upcoming "Sully" w Tom Hanks, the landing on the river. So looking forward to that. Lars

  15. If you are willing to relax and take your time, In the populated area you live, put a post in "Lounge" headed "LA, Ventura CA LaScala owners?" and go from there. Lars
  16. 32BlownHemi - A new pair of LaScala aproach $8,000. Used, in great cosmetic shape, Ballpark Ballpark like $1700 to- $1200. Poor cosmetic shape, down to ballpark $700. An xover rebuild by Crites or others is a few hundred $. In our lifetimes, unless exposed at length to very poor ambient conditions, the old ones are just fine, study the posts on this Forum. Yes, check into the Craigslist links above. Lars
