  1. Yes I do have the original boxes, would make it really easier on the seller also if he sold them to me.
  2. Alan, I also have the RF-25's. I paid $200.00 for the pair and had them shipped from North Carolina for $90.00. I'd actually be interested in them if shipping was possible, and have the original boxes for them. If not,I've seen them on Ebay for around the same price I paid. Hope that helps.
  3. If I can add to my comments above, depending on where you're at, cable companies are expanding their HD Movies pretty slow for actual channels constantly in HD (I only have 4 HD Channels for premium HBO Type the rest are standard), but Satellite offers tons more. So there is the option of getting many many more 7.1 movies as well as VUDU if you use them. All their listings are 7.1. I watched The Guardians movie in 7.2 and 9.2 and it just blew me away with the audio. We were all turning to see where the sounds were coming from as we thought it was something other than the movie. And we watched it on cable.
  4. I know, they go pretty good on pricing, just figured I'd try real quick here to see if someone wanted them. I actually had another one of the Fleetwood Mac I purchased by mistake, not realizing I had it when they came out and it sold for over $50.00. I have Rumors on vinyl, cassette,cd, and dvd-a. So a few need to go.lol
  5. I liked 7.2 so much I went up to 9.2 on both my setups. If you are 70% TV and 30% movies it may not be worth it. I do however like how the extra rear channels do expand the listening area behind me as well as the wide/heights in the front.Just makes it seem to have a more full soundfield than just 5.1, and they are doing more 7.1 in TV and movies at this point.Just my humble opinion though.
  6. worst case, if you don't go ATMOS, you can always use them 9.2 or 11.2 in the ceiling as front and rear presence. I personally don't see the big issue with Atmos. I've heard it a bunch of times with their "dvd demo" setups and it didn't do much for me. Maybe it was their setup and the room, but it didn't do much for me.
  7. You could still raise the center channel a few different ways, 1st being just get a small "pedestal" to sit it on top, or get 2 brackets with a shelf, tap the concrete anchors and sit it on the shelf on the wall. One last resort would be to put brackets on the back of the speaker and "hang" it like a photo would be hung.Just make sure you put 4 "rubber feet" on the back to stabilize it. I wound up doing that with one of my center channels in my family room as it's on a stone fireplace that doesn't have any shelves or mantles. I only say this because it may help with the sound quality, unless you have the adjustment foot on the speaker and raise it so it angles to your ear height. It will also help with the delay from TV Screen to voice sound and match better.Nothing worse than having sound come out like an old Karate movie with lips moving and no sound, then sound and no lips moving.
  8. Besides this, are you able to raise the center channel up a little higher to match the tweeters on the mains or your ear level? I would also toe the speakers in once they are moved to the corners of the room to see how they will sound. If you use concrete anchors you should have no issues hanging the surrounds.
  9. I was always a big Yamaha person...........until recently. I am fastly becoming a Denon fan. I would either go Marantz or Denon as I have been unable to see any of the "other" high end brands due to where I live and all the big box stores. The Marantz for voice with music and dialogue, and the Denon for overall. The Audyssey on these units is also better than YPAO in my opinion. I am also more of a movie person than music at this point, so that is why I chose these. If you're more into music the Marantz in my opinion has the more warm sound and the Denon is in between that and Yamaha with Yamaha having the cooler sound of the 3. I am nowhere near being the audiophile most on here are, but for my purposes I'm enjoying the Denon more and more daily.
  10. I know this is a speaker community, but I've seen a few forums talking about DTS AUDIO on here. I have 2 I am getting ready to sell and figured I'd try here before EBAY/CRAIGSLIST. 1.THE POLICE-EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE THE CLASSICS (DTS AUDIO) 2.EAGLES-HELL FREEZES OVER (DTS AUDIO) I will ship these for free and pricing is for community members here $18.00 per, my list price on EBAY/CRAIGSLIST is going to be $25.00 per. They play immaculate, but the cases may have slight imperfections.
  11. I have the receiver also, it is very nice. Does a lot more than most other receivers in this price range. I purchased it for the amenities as well as the sound being in between Yamaha and Marantz. Music is very crisp and clear on my RF-25's and I don't use an amp. EBAY has them cheaper, not refurbs, and also new in box. I actually purchased this receiver after speaking to Klipsch several times in reference to different speakers.Everyone there kept saying to link this with their speakers. Denon's customer service is also a lot better than some of the other companies out there if you need to speak to someone directly.
  12. OK, So I decided on the KLF 20's and the center to match. What surrounds would best be paired with these?
  13. That is almost like their HT in a box receiver, it's below the TX-NR 6 series of receivers. Price is good though for refurb.
  14. anything over 60 feet is where the audio will make a difference in the cable being used.Under that it shouldn't matter what size.
  15. From what I was told by Klipsch directly, the Synergy series was/is a better speaker. They also said the KF's were more for movies than music and that the crossovers aren't as good as their other lines, even the Synergy. Of course this was AFTER I purchased them, lol. I have the Synergy C-20 Center in with the KF/KS series and was told also that the C-20 blows the ICON center away from the same person at Klipsch. Unfortunately I got caught up in buying the "big speakers with big wattage" without really understanding what I do now, which is basically nothing compared to everyone on here. ,Makes me want to go back to Best Buy and ream them a new a$$hole as they had no idea like I didn't when I had questions. My last speaker purchase was in 1997 when I purchased the KSB Series. Now I think I've turned into most on here, trying to keep upgrading to the top line of speakers, even if they are a few years old, hence the opinions I'm looking for on the attached thread.
  16. I hear a lot of good stuff on the little .5's. I have the older Synergy Series (KSB 1.1's and the center channel) and they sound better than the ICONS IN my opinion.
  17. I didn't say they sounded like ICONS, I'm not fond of the ICON's sound. They almost seem flat to me. I wanted to know how much of a difference the sound quality is to them. So would you use the KG 3.5's as side surrounds, and lets say the .5's as heights and rear surrounds? There is a set I can purchase with 4x's .5's, the center channel, and the sub for $150.00 plus shipping. I wouldn't really need the sub, but might use it for the mix as a 3rd sub and maybe use it as the rear sub.My receiver does front/rear, mono, or stereo and if I did use it, would use a splitter on the front for 2 and then run the smaller one for rear sub.
  18. I think you guys read the pricing different than I typed, the prices are $750.00 asking for the KLF's and the KSF's are for the lower price. My headline is for KSF's 1st and KLF's 2nd,but pricing was arranged differently, my mistake. The KLF's need to be redone and the KSF's look to be immaculate. I'm not running an amp at this point and the receiver I'm using is the Yamaha RX A2020 rated at 140 watts per channel. I'm running it 9.2 now with the ICON series but am not crazy about the sound. I'd like to get rid of them and get something different. With that being said, would either be an upgrade sound wise to lets say the KG's 4 or 5 series. I know wattage is different but sound wise how much of a difference would they be?
  19. Did you have issues with the rear plates on them vibrating? I've read that was one of the issues with them, they needed to be re-glued. I have an RF-25 system in my living room and that sounds great, and I have KG 3.5's and you can hear the difference with the speakers when comparing them to the 25's.I'm not that into the KG's sound either. I have the ICON KF 28's and KS 14's which I'm not to keen on. So I'm trying to find a warmer sound to replace the 28's in my family room. I know the tweeters have a lot to do with it and the sub style, so I'm looking at different scenarios.
  20. I am interested in what everyone's opinions are on these speakers. I am looking to potentially do a setup with either one of these as mains and mixing them with KG 3.5'S as side surrounds and KG .5's as the other surrounds in a 9.2 setup and getting a matching center. I have never heard either of these and want to know the difference they would make against the KG 4 or 5 series, or if I should just finish off with the KG's. I am assuming there will be a wide range on them as they are larger. The KSF's are around $750.00 for the pair but need to be refinished and the KLF's are in excellent condition and $275.00 for the pair. Monetarily I would lean towards the KSF's but how much difference in quality is the sound going to be? I know it's going to be different personally, but are they warmer or brighter than KG's and would they be a good mix?
  21. Joe, I don't know you, but if you need someone to help with the home situation, I may be able to steer you to someone who can. There are special laws in place for people in your situation, and you may be able to do a loan modification or something along the lines of that. Worst case if you do wind up losing the home, there is a way to do it and have the bank pay you. If you are interested in more info let me know. I am a real estate broker in NJ and laws are similar in certain states, so there may be a few options for you.Good Luck with things.
  22. The 200-300 range will get you an Onkyo TX-NR 6,7,8 OLDER SERIES. They all are 3D,4K, and HDMI with phono inputs, Co-ax, optical inputs as well.Just need to watch out for the HDMI issues with them. Can get a squaretrade warranty on it thought if you go through Ebay for less than $50.00 for multiple years.
