  1. I agree with the op. The La Scala’s have a very good sound stage. I do miss a little of the low end with them, but still prefer them to almost anything in the Klipsch line. Something about the bass they do produce is just addicting. I’ve owned most of the heritage line and if I could only live with one, it would be the La Scala.
  2. When was the “different” plywood incorporated into La Scala production?
  3. Something about Dire Straits and La Scala’s. They go hand and hand.
  4. Those look really nice and good price on top of it. Good luck with your sale. I’m surprised they are still for sale.
  5. So, did you ever end up buying the Benchmark AHB2? I’ve been looking at this amp for quite a while to power La Scala’s. There is not a lot of information out there that I can find.
  6. Must be. The 20 and 30 I am referring to were posted today. Both are in Illinois.
  7. No worries. I’ll figure out how to add links before posting to the forum from now on. I don’t do any social media so this is pretty foreign to me. I’ve been off for two weeks and the weather here is terrible. Been holed up in the garage listening to music and checking out speakers. I guess it could be worse.
  8. I’m not the best with technology. Should be able to search Klipsch on the site.

  10. US audio mart. Pretty nice.
  11. There was a set of Chorus speakers on EBay a few years back and claimed to be owned at one time by Bill Clinton. Water stains on the tops wouldn’t be the only thing to worry about. 😬
  12. Buy both and keep them. Then you will be set until you get into the larger Heritage models.
  13. I will clarify. I’ve never owned Forte 1’s. Only Forte 2 and 3’s. Most prefer the Forte 2 over the 1 and the 3 seems to be the standout. I owned the Forte 2 at the same time I owned the Chorus 2. I powered both with SS gear. Probably went through 10 different amps on both. Ended up with some old Carver gear on the Forte 2 and a Yamaha M-85 amplifier and C-85 preamp on the Chorus 2. I do not listen to rap or classical music, but pretty much every other genre. The Forte’s probably did sound a little more balanced at lower volumes. For me, it’s really hard to compare the two because I believe it’s like comparing apple to oranges. What ever you do, don’t listen to the Chorus 2 if you end up with the Fortes.
  14. If I was anywhere close, I would snag it.

  16. Most of what has been stated in the previous posts is very accurate regarding the two models. Tonal difference between the two is a very subjective matter. You really need to hear both to make a judgement for yourself. In my opinion, Klipsch speakers in general are more pronounced in the mid/high frequencies. That’s why most here are attracted to them. Not that they are void of low end, but more accurate. My experience with the Forte is that it plays well and sounds good at low to high volume with a slight change in presence compared to the Chorus 2. If you call that balance, than that’s what you get with the Forte. The Chorus 2’s play well and sounds good at low volumes, but don’t really come alive until you put some watts to them. That’s when they really distinguish themselves as the better speaker. This is just my opinion. I owned my Chorus 2 for many years and really enjoyed them.
  17. I agree with this explanation. I’ve had a pair of Forte 2 and 3’s they both sounded very good. I still would pay the extra money for the Chorus. I don’t really miss either of the Forte’s, but wish I never sold the Chorus.
  18. The Chorus II is in a different league than the Forte. It can handle much more power and just sounds much larger than the forte. In my opinion, it is the best direct radiator speaker Klipsch offers until you get into the pro gear.
  19. I’m not quite sure mine is a different driver and bolts directly to the horn flange. Might check and make sure the driver is installed correctly to the horn and all hardware is tight.
  20. Those are absolutely beautiful!
  21. I agree that speaker placement is the biggest key to unlocking the true potential of the Chorus 2’s. I also recommend you try a powerful amplifier that can throw some wattage to them. That was the second biggest improvement with mine.
  22. Thanks man! Now I have something to look forward to.
  23. I don’t have the room right now to move them much. Just small tweaks. My listening room is also my shop. I have a larger building coming in the spring. I plan on moving them there when it’s finished. Then I will try pulling them out off the back wall. Thanks for the advice.
