  1. I remember when you were in the process of building these. They look great. Without reading back through that thread, how do you like the results?
  2. I think this is a duplicate post in the wrong thread.
  3. I don’t have them anymore. I do miss them though. I think they are the best direct radiator speaker in the Klipsch home speaker category. The amps that sounded best on the Chorus were a B&K ST-140, Yamaha M-85 and a B&K Ref4420. Most will disagree, but the more quality power, the better on Chorus.
  4. I too had the Marantz PM8006. I ran it with a set of Chorus II. I didn’t care for it at all.
  5. Vodka and cranberry??? Would have figured only White Russians.
  6. I somehow missed your post. Some of the splits came with badges, some were painted. My other pair of split are painted, but they are not fiberglass. As far as getting in to check the crossovers, the easiest way is to take off the handle. It should unscrew easily and just pop out. From there you can access the crossover. It should be located on the opposite side of the cabinet, just left of the input. Space is very tight inside there. If you need to actually work on anything, best to pull the horn, tweeter and motor board off from the front. It all will come off together. Don’t remove the horn or tweeter from the motor board. At that point, you can remove the 6 screws (3 on each side) on the motor board and pull the guts out from the front. Be sure to unhook all drivers from the crossover and label the wires before pulling everything out. Btw, those are beautiful!
  7. I don’t think you can have a more grand entrance than you did last time. 😆
  8. Sold! These couldn’t be going to better folks. I’ve dealt with @Friendlyviper in the past and had an excellent experience. Look forward to seeing you guys.
  9. Sorry. I’ve been hanging out with the kids. I’ll call you tomorrow, unless you’re still awake tonight.
  10. No. I actually didn’t even think about it. I figured you had already found another pair. Let him know. I’d love for you guys to end up with these. They are really nice.
  11. Thanks Jerry. Hope things are going well with you bud.
  12. Just come over for a listen! You don’t have to buy anything.
  13. I just spent about 3 months going through these speakers and making them like new. They are in excellent condition. K-43 woofers, K-55V soldered lug mid drivers, new DaveA tweeters. Crossovers are Klipsch AA’s with updated caps. They sound great with no resonance😀 You would be hard pressed to find a set as nice as these. I had plans for these speakers, but they are not going to happen. I already have a set of these for personal use, or I wouldn’t be selling them. These are hooked up in my listening area and are available to demo if you are seriously interested in buying. Price is firm. These are very hard to find. Pick up only in southern Indiana. I wanted to try here before they go to other outlets for sale. Please PM me if you have any questions.
  14. I’ll look into that. Thank you.
  15. I’ve used Tidal for the last few years and like it. I haven’t tried any other services except Spotify. It was the free service and didn’t sound near as good as Tidal obviously. I never thought I’d ever stream music, but I’m really happy with the quality and not having to flip records.
  16. I know what you mean. I think some recordings are just unlistenable.
  17. I agree. It’s the honesty of the La Scala. I guess I can hear some resonance, but it’s in the recording. Just like listening to something with steel guitar. Is it the guitar or the speaker? I want to hear all of that. I’m not big on super polished music. I don’t want my speakers to gloss over all the little nuances that make music what it is. That is what’s so special about the La Scala’s.
  18. I just listened to that song on Tidal, on fiberglass La Scala splits. All original except the tweeters are DaveA’s and the crossovers have been updated with JEM caps. I don’t hear any resonance. I will say, I don’t think that is a very good recording unless that was the effect they were going for. Sounds like a microphone effect. Dark, muffled dreamscape.
  19. That’s a great pair of speakers. Good luck with your sale.
  20. My first pair of La Scala’s had the braces. I’ve had 4-5 pair of original’s since without braces and haven’t heard the resonance issue.
