  1. I'll offer up one thing that rarely gets mentioned. Noise. The fan noise & disc drive ramping up with the PS3 & the PS4 can be annoying. Can't speak to other models, but my 103 is perfectly quiet. If your primary use is for movies... switching to the Oppo is worth it for that alone.
  2. Congrats on the new setup. With the new gear should make a great experience. Also, I just noticed the triangle ports from your pic. Nice! This summer I plan to have the good Dr. write me a prescription for 15H MK2.
  3. With American Sniper the rear surrounds really get a workout too. I haven't seen them that active in quite some time.
  4. Rattle away. Instead of dusting... I just put on U-571.
  5. My bad, I read crappy, not sappy For me they are the same thing. Sappy is Crappy.
  6. None of my examples make me tear up (lol). I just want them to stop playing.
  7. What sets my schmaltz meter off? Anything from Bread, Seals & Croft, Christopher Cross. Actors who sing & I use the term "sing" loosely. In this case, I could use the term "actor" loosely too. (lol) Like nails on a chalkboard. Does listening to these on my RF-7's make them Klipschmaltz? Not classic sappy schmaltz... but
  8. Its important to strike a good balance. Enjoy what you have. But, its equally enjoyable to chase that "next" piece of gear. I've been eyeballin' a new item since last fall, plan to bring it home in a month or so.
  9. The new Reference Premiere? Hopefully the 280's are pictured, not the 260's. The 280 (is only slightly smaller in width than the RF-7) at 10.5" wide vs. the 260 at only 9" wide. Still give a good sense of scale for the modules. Depending on the towers pictured, that would make the modules in the range of 10" x 17"... or 8" x 16" & that would fit nicely on my RF-7's. Tough to tell, but the woofers only appear to be around 5.25".
  10. Awesome. Nice find! Looks like a product or "catalog" shot. Because these are new items. There's a pair of Atmos add-on modules for the rear heights. I hope those are RF-7II's they are sitting on top of.... that gives a great perspective of size & scale of the modules.
  11. Finally got to watch this last night. I still remember the shock & sadness on the day Chris died. The man, his story, his service & his sacrifice was far more compelling & inspirational than the movie. But, glad Clint produced this effort so that he could share Chris's story.
  12. Reminds me of the AudioQuest Diamond HDMI cables. Some of the review are hilarious: Review 1 Review 2

    TV Question

Haaa... (edit) I meant to say I've been browsing the web since 2006 via the PS3. Not sure where I grabbed 1997 out of the air from (lol).

    TV Question

I've been browsing the web from my TV since 1997 (via the PS3). If you've yet to experience that option.... it's kinda like before Tivo & the DVR. It's something you didn't know you wanted/needed.... until after you had it. Now I couldn't imagine having a TV that didn't provide that feature. I access the web via TV everyday, Good luck!

    TV Question

Purchased my most recent TV online w/free shipping, I already knew the make/model that I wanted in advance. And despite being a new product release, I still saved about $400 over current advertised prices. They used a National delivery agent, took a bit of extra time & logistics for transport to my state, then went thru a local delivery agent for scheduled time/date delivery. They had a slight delay at some point, but offered additional $$$ off to make good. All my previous TV's were purchased thru local HT retailer. Had a regular sales guy for years, & generally offered 10-20% off anything, with free delivery. If a you have a particular model in mind, check with one of the Home Shopping Channels, they always have a sale or event going on, plus they offer free shipping so, good deals can be found. Should there be an issue upon delivery, they will offer an expedited replacement (no charge) or refund with (no-charge return shipping). I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a TV online & have it shipped, no complaints. Good luck.
  16. No worries, no harm at all. The girls definitely kick-arse in this tragic twisted tale via a series of adrenaline filled vignettes. An over the top graphic novel that comes to life. Abandoned, forsaken, revenge, redemption, & sacrifice played out thru the eyes of Baby Doll, Sweet Pea, Rocket, Amber & the Wise Man. Guns, Swords, Robots, Mechs, Dragons, Germans, Samurai, Zombies & a killer soundtrack. Here was tonight feature:
  17. You lost me? I love Sucker Punch. No fear in sharing that at all. Its just a movie. (lol) Great unconventional, dream-like storytelling. Fantasy & Sci-Fi elements with nods to Anime & Steampunk. The visuals & audio are impressive. Plus, the extended version is much better than the theatrical release. Soundtrack is unrelenting. Good Stuff.
  18. One of our members has these posted in another thread. Sorry for the seller, but certainly a great opportunity for a new home.
  19. did you have it playin in three different rooms or what? Once Baby Doll starts dancing... I lost track of the room. Probably my favorite Snyder film. The image never displayed during "Preview Post", so I pasted the link again. Just noticed there were 3. Must of have had my Z2 & Z3 on. (lol) Earlier minermark had posted the forum was kinda acting up... I've recently noticed a few minor hiccups as well. Must have been some server lag or something (or I was subliminally wishing for a trilogy).
  20. After recreating the hi-res image, playing with scale, proportion, height & dimension—I had this image in my head all day. So, I had to actually juxtapose the two & showcase some American Power.
  21. Does this work? If you need another size for a specific tablet, phone, or monitor dimension; shoot me a PM. Also created a 3/4 view, hopefully the proportions are accurate.
  22. Before you know it, I could be contemplating 2ch, class a amps, tubes, analog, Heresy or Belle for center...etc. But, no rush. I still use a flat screen, so matching up a proper center channel without a screen might be tough.
