  1. I listened to “right now” on headphones and liked it. We will see.
  2. Thank you, I will be listening to This tonight!
  3. I have really been enjoying this set up all week. I am not sure if the difference I heard standing is due to the back wave interacting with the front of the waveguide. There is a difference standing and sitting, but it does not eclipse the experience at the listening position. The AMTs do many things very, very well, and mine are still breaking in. Big thanks to everyone involved in this project! @Rudy81 @Chris A @Thaddeus Smith I have some finishing material in route (hopefully) to finish off the waveguides. They are keepers!
  4. Very sorry to hear that. @Rudy81 get well, and get home soon!
  5. I have not seen him post in a few days. Maybe @Thaddeus Smith has heard from him?
  6. All outer packaging gets thrown away outside after it sits outside for two days. I have mixed up a bleach solution that I will be spraying down the outer packaging a day before I open it going forward. I have been disinfecting my mailbox with bleach every day as well. I received an order from mouser that will be sitting in the garage for awhile until I am ready to take every little bag out and clean with bleach. Then every component will get cleaned with 70% isopropyl before being soldered. Getting gas for my mower was an event. I opened my cans, and my gas cap before touching anything at the pump. Then, I put on one glove. This was for the pump and the key pad. Once done the pump was hung up and the glove was thrown in the trash at the pump. Then a good scrub down of both hands with a disinfecting wipe, and the handles and door handles and debit card. I don’t think it is paranoid. Unfortunately it is all necessary. Sadly each time we get mail, a package, groceries or gas our incubation clock potentially resets.

    What I Got Today!

Wow, that is a solid piece of gear. Very cool!

    Are You Jealous?

I saw a similar display at a local Walmart around Valentine’s Day. Simply terrifying.
  9. Bills, this is not a gift. It will more than likely not be enough for the people who really need this. I feel for the entrepreneurs that are seeing their life’s work burn to the ground right now. This may cover the current two week shutdown plan. Unfortunately I don’t think two weeks will cut it.
  10. I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you get back to normal soon!
  11. I thought about that. I did raise the assembly up above the top of the bass bins 1 1/2” then 3”. There seemed to be subtle differences, but no game changers. I will angle them at the listening position tomorrow. For now I will enjoy. I hope you are able to enjoy some good tunes while you get better!
  12. I am seated pretty close to the center of the stack height. There is just a very “live” presence to vocals if I stand at the LP. Not to say there is anything wrong seated, far from it. I just need to keep experimenting. Glad to see you posting!
  13. As a good distraction today I have been playing music in the listening room and helping my daughters with their DIY projects. I have been popping in to do a little critical listening here and there. One thing I have noticed is the sweet spot appears to be at the listening position but not at seated height it is present when I am standing. Have any of the other builders noticed this? @Rudy81 @Thaddeus Smith @Chris A have any of you experimented with toe in?
  14. I am still going to experiment with placement of the wings. I would like to try them pulled all the way to the front of the bass bin, but I will have to figure out a way to keep the entire set up from falling off the front. Please keep us posted on your condition. We are living in truly terrifying times. We will get through this though, and move on, and so will you.
  15. I should have posted this morning about yesterdays activities with the double stack/wing setup, but it was nice here today so I decided to fire up the mower. Since my schedule has been cleared I decided to trim, pick some weeds, rake some leaves and plug aerate as well. Why not. I listened Friday night to my basic no correction crossover at 400hz and reported that is was very promising. (I originally posted that it was 500hz, I changed it to 400hz along the way and never changed to the title. I will go back and edit that post). Fast forward to yesterday morning. I received a PM from @Chris A asking if I would like a hand optimizing the MiniDSP. After a few emails back and forth over the course of the day Chris was able to crank out an awesome DSP file. I am so grateful to Chris for his help. It would have taken me months of trial and error to get even slightly close to what he created yesterday. Chris is a wealth of knowledge we are lucky to be able to tap on this forum. I was really considering going to the SWAG event just to be able to pick his brain in real time. I pick things up better in a hands on environment. Below is the original SPL graph of the 400hz no correction crossover. Below is the comparison between the first raw measurement and Chris's work. Just awesome! I need to do much more listening, but each improvement Chris made to the crossover file made huge improvements to the sound in my room. It is really interesting as he changed the PEQ's and delay etc. the imaging, clarity and balance continued to improve. I am really blown away at how great this setup sounds. If anyone is on the fence about trying this, just jump, it is so worth it. Now I need to take these apart at some point and veneer them to match the bass cabs, probably wont be any time soon. I will reply later with some of the usual audiophile language, but for now I am just going to listen. No crap, the big panels are roxul and the small ones are roxul and ultratouch denim. They are DIY. However, that is another project @Chris A helped me with. I owe the great sound in my room largely in part to Chris. I really cant thank Chris enough.
  16. Glad to see a good project get started! Stay safe, I fear the next few weeks are going to be challenging.
  17. Daily drivers are Thorogood mock toe steel toe. They look great and are super comfortable. I work in manufacturing, in the office, but I spend a lot of time on the plant floor. At home it’s hey dudes. However, the puppy also likes the hey dudes. She won’t leave my feet alone when I wear them. Otherwise Asics for running and all day kid activities. Truthfully I have been wearing my cheap rubber boots from Rural king more than anything lately. Best $25 I have ever spent.
  18. It really has not been any more work than the previous set up. And at less than half the price........ 😎
  19. I “dialed” in my sub to the above measurements, and have been playing music all night. So far this setup sounds promising.
  20. Below is the SPL response of 500hz crossover point and -20db on the bass bin.
  21. I agree, Ricky has been very helpful in the past. I am glad he has stuck it out with ESS to keep it going.
  22. @Delicious2 that was how I had it set up and it would not cooperate. My computer has always been finicky at times with REW. Oh well, I am able to run sweeps and hopefully match the amps up a little better so I can listen to some music and break these in.
  23. I got some output and made a quick adjustment to get the levels of my bass bin to match my heils. I will take some better ones later today without the dishwasher running and the dog barking. getting a little closer.
