  1. Thank you for the responses and prayers. I cannot express what it means that those that have only known me through this forum are taking time to think about or write something to my family. My wife and I have no concerns about how much we will love our son. The difficulty comes in imagining the frustrations he may face. This is our first child, so everything will be new. I am confident he will amaze us and things will be as they should, but it is certainly scary. I'm not one for expressing personal matters in pretty much any setting, but I am thankful I did here. My sincerest gratitude to everyone responding or just reading. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Have a new addition to the Klipsch speaker family coming in July... Had a longer ultrasound today and the news was not the best. It currently appears that my son has no forearms. I ask that any of you that follow in faith ask the good Lord to provide the way and guidance through this time; whether that be to hear of a mistake made in the current outlook, or the strength and correct path to follow in the future. Asking that His will be done.
  3. You are correct. I'd love to attend...hopefully some day I can.

  6. Like the title says, has anyone used their indoor Klipsch to hold a party outdoors? (Excluding La Scalas - those can definitely handle such duty) In theory, they wouldn't be too bad...perhaps a wider dispersion than ideal for outdoor use, but still could be used. 7. Change of plans. No longer for sale. Found a way to use it with my Quartets.

  12. About 6 or so months ago, I bought a set of Quartets from the original owner. They were a little tired looking, so some restore a finish and feed n wax brought their finish back. Highs were slightly off, so I put in Crites' titanium tweeters. This made them much smoother. After 6 months of play, there was a bit of harshness present and detail missing that I was noticing. A few days ago I updated the crossovers with the full Crites build. For anyone wondering if they should freshen up their older crossovers, the answer is yes. These really brought the speakers back to life and now they will last another 25+ years. The detail that has been brought back is astonishing. The detail comes close to the La Scala II. The highs are back that were severely rolled off on mine as well. Probably due to the cleaner presentation, it sounds like there may be a bit more, and snappier bass too. I will need to compare these to my Heresy III now to see which I prefer. I'm pretty sure the Quartets will have the edge with the larger tractrix mid horn. I did compare them with my Altec 19, which is probably not a fair fight. They can't compete with speakers that are that much larger, but they are no slouch. The Quartets don't have the presence of the 19, but the detail is pretty close between the two. Tonally, they are quite different, but that may be a matter of preference. Just wanted to share my experience and let anyone that's on the fence of upgrading know that I highly recommend it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I bought 2, just in case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So, my very initial impressions: the speakers will be brighter, but in a good way. In my case with the Quartets, the highs were severely rolled off. You will also gain a significant amount of detail. Stringed instruments now have the textures that are present in a live setting. It may be my imagination, but I feel like there is more bass as well, but that may be due to much cleaner harmonics in the mid/highs now. I highly recommend updating the crossovers and bringing them back to where they were meant to be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. $3,200 MSRP on the Heresy. Mid April or so. I'm supposed to be getting a set. $1,200 additional for veneer? ...the Heresy is not a large speaker.
  16. ...surprised no one has picked up this incredible deal yet! ...I sold mine for $250 with the titanium tweeters.
  17. Wow, I seem to come upon older threads pretty often. Did you end up getting those 19s, MWS? I'd say I'm a rather big fan of Klipsch. I've got a set of Heresy III and Quartets right now. I used to have KG4, and the promedia 2.1 system. I also bought my father a set of RB 81 II and convinced my brother to get a set of La Scala II. As much as I love Klipsch, the 19s, for me, are the best overall speaker I've ever heard. Yes, they are a 2 way, instead of the 3-way big Klipsch...but Paul always wanted the Klipschorn to be a 2 way - hence the Jubilee. The 19s have all the presence of Klipsch, but have a very natural and real sound. Having a direct radiating 15" woofer, I'm sure there is more modulation distortion at high levels in the 19s than the Klipschorn or La Scala, but at the levels I listen, I don't think I'd ever hear it. The 19s have a very different sound that Klipsch, and if I had the space/money, there would be a set of La Scala in my home as well. Everyone has their own tastes, but I would say the 19s are definitely worth a listen at least - if for nothing more than experiencing essentially a legend within the audio world, just like Klipsch.
  18. I will be replacing the crossovers in my Quartets this weekend (or maybe a little earlier) so I'll be able to give you a fresh perspective on the process soon. I do have a pair of Heresy III, and being new have fresh crossovers/components. Comparing those currently with my Quartets, the Heresy are noticeably more detailed and the proverbial veil is lifted. I have read that updating the crossovers essentially brings back the detail and highs that go missing after so many years. I'll post my thoughts on the Quartet change this weekend.
  19. Looks great! ...have another pair yet?
  20. I'll have to take a pic of the whole amp, but here's one for a chilly winter evening. Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II...and some whiskey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Was that a custom or DIY finish? Didn't think they came that way...unless that's just what he's calling the black ash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Looking good! How do you manage to come upon all these deals??? ..and...you work way too fast, slow down, you're making some of us look bad.
  23. I don't think I've bought anything on there, but I sold a few items there. I've had good experiences with the buyers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
