  1. I have a 16 by 25 theater with double doors expanding to 16 X 45. I am using a top of the line Marantz 9.1 avr with substantial speakers. I have run Audessy several times and I find I like the sound better with Audessy OFF. I manually adjusted each of my 9.1 speakers separately. I am using a top of the line Marantz 9.1 avr. Some how the Audessy system ends up sounding muddy with less direct localization of the individual instruments. So..... Consider a manual setup to compare.
  2. I have TSCM fronts and two RF82ii as my center. I have RS 62ii as my surrounds. I can not imagine a better surround. They fill their section with solid sound. Will be interested if you like the pro set. They angle down so should be mounted higher than the RS62s.
  3. I have a pair. They were not matched when I got them. Different crossovers and k55 M in one and K55V in the other. I ended up replacing all14 speakers and installing ALK fast slope crossovers. They are sooooooooooooooooooooo good now. They are rare enough that I see no real pattern. I see the Bins occasionally cheep. Do not remember seeing separate tops for sale. The ones advertised are much more expensive than what I paid. But if you have room you really want TSCM or Jubilee.
  4. Putting flowers on top to water would seem to guarantee water marked tops. They are indeed special.
  5. The word is to "enjoy". Also do the experiments. Audio is amazingly frustrating at times but just keep experimenting. In my case I have spent over a year on a new theater and it is just now coming together. In my case the thing that made the most significant improvement was my hanging pictures all over the walls. The next most significant was the addition of a second throw rug on top of the existing carpet immediately in front of the speakers. TSCM's on a 9.1 Marantz. Usually listen to music in stereo.
  6. Looks like the RC-7 is sold.
  7. RC 7 back on the market. Works fine just a bit beat up. $150 plus shipping from Dallas.
  8. I will sell mine for $150 plus shipping from Dallas. Mine has all working parts and I can not hear any change from new.
  9. Any one want a RC7 for rehab? Mine is a lot better shape than this one was. Both cones are damaged but I can't hear a difference. Mine is cheep though; $150 plus shipping. Can't find my pics so maybe I will have to take some more.
  10. I ran into a problem when my new Samsung TV, my Marantz and my Epson projector would not work together. I eventually was told the newer Marantz and Samsung have a different security chip than the older projector. I have to unplug the Epson from the AC power to get the others to work.
  11. Back from my travels. This one is still for sale. $200 plus shipping estimated at $50. It has that really good RC 7 sound.
  12. On any cable over 15' go for the best. Then check it with the control and the slave units before installation. I just finished building a theater from scratch and installing cable behind the wall. After they were installed I found two of the long HDMI cables just would not work with my 90 inch Samsung. [These were top of the line cables costing like almost $200 bucks.] I checked these before installation with my small 25 inch monitor and they worked fine. Who knows why but once I got the large TV it just would not work with the cables that worked fine with the monitor. Lot of work to pull and replace. Need to make sure it works with the actual electronics before you seal the wall. Conduit: If you are really thinking of a possible later removal and pull make your corners 45 degrees. My 90 degree corner turned out to be an absolute problem. Since I could get behind the wall [nearly a whole day of hot nasty work] I changed it to two 45s, pulled my two new cables and it now works like a charm.
  13. Here is mine. Finally it is all working. 90" Samsung TV with TSCM mains. A paired set of R 82ii for the center; R52 for front surround; R62 for rear sound and RB 81 for rears. 4 Klipsch coaxials for ceiling Atmos. Marantz 9.2 AVR, Samsung Blue-Ray with all speaker and control wiring behind the walls. Klipsch 12" sub but building a TUBA HT. Electric movie screen with Epson projector. The TSCM were different; one 84 with a simplistic crossover and an 85 with a very different crossover. So.... I replaced all 14 speakers with new upgrades and installed an ALK high slope set of crossovers so now they are identical. Results were spectacular. The stereo match is such that individual singers can be picked out of a quartet. Same for vocals I can pick out the individual support musicians. The 9.1 is really a bit of a waste since there is so little available that I will watch.
  14. I suggest thinking long and hard about matching the Blue-ray to the system. I have a Maranz 9.2 AVR paired with a almost new 90" top of the line Samsung TV. Has taken me a year to get the Marantz working with the TV. I have been through 4 different Blue-ray players and finally got a top of the line Samsung. At last; finally got the 3 to work together..... If you want the player to work HDMI you also need to match security chip sets. My suggestion is match the player to TV.
  15. Back from the Caribbean and now on to speaker parts for sale. The two K33 are from a TSCM. Both are literally pristine and both work just fine. Just want them a new home so $100 plus shipping. [Will ship in the Crites boxes where I got the replacements.]
