  1. +1 Dang it. Too much on my plate. Have to restore a Marantz, get new crossovers and now these. I'm ALMOST tempted to put off my Marantz 2500 restore. Grrrr. .
  2. I hear you & thanks. But having never touched a soldering gun I'd rather give someone the dollars to build a pair. Hard to beat decades of experience Thanks but it' over my head. As much as I'd like to go out on faith and say "they LOOK good" having the right instruments to test & verify that would by someone experienced would be better. I might just end up sending these in to get done. Thanks for the replies!
  3. What would be nice is to somehow have the last post # you were at on a particular thread. Let's say you went on vacation and the thread has progressed from six pages to ten. Go to click on it it'll take you or show you where your last comment was. I'm sure I could have written that better but hope you get the gist. Peace. BTW liking the new layout. Great job.
  4. Lol lol....Just caught your post..... Ya know years ago when I was doing the Honda engine swaps in the Civics for kids, they would tell me "I want to go fast" ..... I would laugh at em and say "yea buy something with a small block Chevy and I'll build ya a car that'll go twice as fast for half the money" MKP :-) Yet they forget that 100-0 is just as important;)I learned on at a local autocross chapter and realized that a "lowly" 145 HP was a lot. Learning the balance of your car and handling it's weight was a GREAT experience. To the credit of today's youth some young kids were out their with their mega HP Hondas learning but that was few & far between. Kudos on them.
  5. Wow. Sorry I missed this. A huge congrats and wishing you many years of smooth sounds. Solid man, looking good.
  6. Had my best friend come over for a listen as we have a new grandson that just came home and I'm now a new Grandpa x2. We'll, it was the first time he had the time to listen to it at length. In this photo he wasn't committed as he stood listening. But then he sat down he had the biggest grin ever. Five minutes into it he leaned back and started to enjoy the sound. Klipsch was reaching out & through to a very stubborn person when it comes to sound. He's pretty picky when it comes to his type of music. He likes Chinese type music like the twelve girls. Forty minutes later he asked how much to buy them. Sadly I told him they were no longer making them. He'd have bought some tomorrow!! I've known him for over a decade and that's how he is if he really likes something. Even my wife likes them. The neighbor. Santa Claus too if he'll come by I'm sure. There something to be said of Klipsch sound. Thank you Mr. Klipsch.
  7. Beauties. Congrats! I believe those are GE caps? They look really nice.
  8. BTW I do believe they still make the Jupiter flat stack. http://jupitercondenser.com/product/aluminum-foil-flat-stacked-wax-capacitor/ http://jupitercondenser.com/product/copper-foil-flat-stacked-wax-capacitor/ Granted this is the 2.2uf.
  9. That's a work of art. Simple & no nonsense. Beautiful work Dean.
  10. This would be my second choice behind Lexus. If Lexus doesn't get their head out of the sand and stop charging an extra $20k for two extra doors between models and stop neutering their V8's I'll look elsewhere to buy.
  11. Ultimately I'd like to get some paper in oil crossovers. I'd be open to those who are willing to build some. Thanks.
  12. I should add that neither of the offers worked out. One I would have had to modify my tweeters and the other crossovers were for different set of speakers. Thanks to both of you nonetheless. Cheers.
  13. Before plunking down serious $$$ on some crossovers I'd like to see if anyone has some DeanG, ALK or Crites ones they are no longer using at a fair price. Any consideration is appreciated. Thanks.
  14. Here's a link to another. Impressive. The work & details that goes behind an Deang, Crites or ALK crossovers I imagine have some serious hours behind them. I wish I had this talent.
  15. Your hot on the trail. Kenrick only works on vintage JBL speakers from what I see so I do believe this is what it was going to.
  16. Now, anyone want to try their hand at it? Lol. I do believe this is a Kenrick sound design if I'm crediting correct. I'd like this for my Belle's please.
  17. Low ball? Love me some:P Cheers. Seriously good looking caps. Maybe fit them into an AA crossover.
