Well, the guy that I got the La Scalas from had a Thorens Td 320 so I am the proud "new" owner of it. A shame the Denon dl 160 cantilever was twisted . Going to get a new cart. But I am listening to a LP I bought in 1974 Tubular Bells!

Ground wire was on. But yes I can hear the last of the previous track in the space between tracks! I know crazy . So last night I went back to my 1975 Sanyo and alls well. Plus it was like the arm was resonating in the cart . This happened on every lp I put on. I wonder if it's the preamp?

Me I would get the 5.5s I have a pair and like them . Get the Crites xovers and titanium for the horn .

I picked up some LP's and I am going to resurrect my 1975 Sanyo turntable but my Adcom preamp does not have phono input so I will have to get a phono preamp, any ideas anyone. So my friend let me borrow his spare Tt a technics sl. 2000 with a xlm improved mk 2 cart and it's so microphoneic the tonearm is making noise, I can run my finger on the arm and hear it. I even hear part of last track in between tracks.

Is there any way to make record cleaning solution

I would welcome it.

I have those now so I should go back to the thin RCA cables?

God, I threw my red record brush away last year. I hadn't used it in30 years, and now the turntable is up and running.

Well I put a new needle and belt in the old Sanyo , got a cheap phono amp ( Pyle ) put on Tubular Bells ( I bought it in 1974) those that don't know , music from the "Exorcest " it was wounderful . I have a record cleaner on the way, still looking for a better ? Turntable.

So I am thinking about a " new " turntable and was wondering about the Technics sl1200's what is it about 40 year old turntables that demand such a high price. My Sanyo from 1975 That I paid 150$ might get 250$ now ,but the sl 1200 are 500 and up.

I have used the KG 5.5. Speakers for twenty years with a Adcom gfi 5000 , 200 wpc. Get the Critis xovers. They will wake them up. Some have had trouble with the cabs but mine are still in good shape, I pushed mine hard and only had a stock xover die under warranty .

Last Sunday I picked up a Dynaco St 70 my friend built for me and it sounds fantastic with the La Salas. Before that it was the Adcom gfi 5000 a.and for twenty years before that it was tha Adcom 5000 into KG 5.5 s w Critis covers and titanium diaphragms.Am I going backwards?

So the Dynaco st 70 is setting there all lit up , and the audio seems "smoother" ? I have not listened a lot yet because my wife is home for a while, and she dosnt like my music.

I don't have the amp yet , he is running it to see if all is ok. Oh it's not kt 77s they are 6550 Russian . I will ask him who made the driver board, it was stuffed when he bought it. He went ss rectifer , the 5ar4 is lit but not being used as is the can cap . He has built 5 st 70s.

Anyone here using a Pro-ject turntable? I am going to dig out the LPs when I fire up the Dynaco st 70. And whatever phono amp I get .

So moving the tweeter back two feet makes that much differance? I thought about putting them higher.

My friend built me a Dynaco st 70 with three 12at7 s driving kt77s . Any one have thoughts on a preamp ? I am using La Scala's.

Like I told my broinlaw , I could hear the pick attack on the individual strings. These speakers have been a secret for a long time. I wish I had a room with corners I could use for khorns , but that's ok I am happy, I will put on Quicksilver " happy trails " and listen to Johns (rip) Gibson SG.
