  1. No speaker,TT,CD,all peices must be pretine, Must be few who could use a amp or two. Buy in bulk split the cost, just a thought. Craig 299 is still opening up new avenues to explore. will be intresting to see if it could take the premier spot in your collection, leaving mobile to acquire a 299 from you, eico 81 alk's la salse nice. woh is game anti-up.
  2. Hey Craig, been trying not to bother you, like so many other's and to let you have the time needed, unable to hold back any longer. How is the everything going so far.Oh i'm sure you will eventually get the responce about the tube you requested, might have to eat a bit of humble pie, this might be proportantely to such a spirited outburst( ) These moments of deep affection are so touching ,only in a real family can one find such epression of real love.
  3. mike try some coushen foan spounge under it, and also a penny or a coin on the head.
  4. congratulatins on your new acqusition of your new purchase. i am no expert but i believe those are from 1977. there is a post that list the year of the klipsch line,my cornwalls are (s) and are 78. this is not a hard & fast rule using my # year i go back in # according to the letter. crazy, i beleive that list can be fount in the 2 channel audio section. try ebay there items listed from time to time.or klipsch part department.
  5. Thank's to all for your suggestion , after e-maling the seller he requested that i return the amp and he would have his tech fix, what he belives to be cap, right now i'm unable to recall which one it was.He will also re-imburse the cost of shopping he should get it fri or sat. just hoping all will be well this time around.
  6. Stop this physco babble, and consider who's pulling your strings. I'ts very entertaining to see educated scholars debate the nueances of the higher level of human development and not realising that thus far no one has even attempted to solve any of the issues deign debated. Goverments are made up with people who start out with the backing of selfish people. Mainly your idealistic conviction is projected through the one who is foolish enough to think they can make this change which satisfy your ego.Division have now been created on a phsycological level, only to find that there has already been rules layed down by your predissor and will be adhear to by all new arrival. The founders formed such a system which they inhereted from their predessor's,freedom of choice has always been the cry, freedom from tyrinical rulers, unfair bosses, and what ever else that ails us. society cannot be stagnant thus new weight has to be added on, on the basis of how mutch more are you worth, should production determine this or intelect.Ideas without implimentation is wasted ;effort without order is chaos.what is the real reason behind this topic , Who is pulling your string?is it he who start's or the one who finishes it how free are you in your choices.
  7. hey, guy's reading this post has come really excited. i recently purchase a Lk72b equvelent of 299d,its not functioning properly, and is to be sent back for repair,a filter cap might be the problem according to seller's tech. This is like a tonic that has rejunivated the flow ,its cool to hear the passion ouses out for getting the best out of this amp.I only hope whoever is fixing mine is 1/2 as passinate. Deang craig will have every owning a scott, including you. Mike this is going to blow you awaaay.
  8. Mdeneen its just difficult to take when you purchase an item and every thing is suppose to be thuroghly gone over, all i dotted &ts cross to find that as it is unvale desaster strikes.then find your self deign sucked into audio hell. d'nt even get a one nighter, how fickle can tube be.i'm hoping that there will be a responce from seller,to see if he will have amp return for his evulation or if i can find some one local take a look at it. the cornwalls had an energy that makes you shiver,my acurus is a really fine amp but tube has a mellowness that pulls at you.lord help meeeeeee.
  9. Purchased a scotlk 72b on ebay recently and was very pleased with last secound snipe. after listening to various method in approaching this type of bidding.was rather pleased when ups came knocking on my door bloody well woke me up. signed and with critical scanning package was in good condition, opened and there it was. nice looking and quite weighty.quickely disconnected my dewald, this was my firstand was growing quite fond of her.she had nice mids ∧ heighs but was alittle lackingin the bass area,so here come mr scott.he came well spoken of,and of a family thats not to be tampered with.Iherd that they kicked echo's ***. This is mr 5791, 35 watts in each channel with room for my center channel later. Hooked up the 78 cornwalls and cd loaded with ben webster plug it in and there was the sound so dam freighting my daughter shouted dad you alright, **** sparked quickly retracted plug shouted daanggg.composed my self and with a quick check saw that the unit was in the on position, turned it off and went for it again, so far so good turned it on then sloowly light came on.this is good turn volume up a little---nooo hum>>> dammm.ok gone this far cd on sounds like cra// man this sucks. sent email to seller yesturday no reply as yet.scott is in the box.sighhhhh.i'm trumatised. Q the selector switch has three positions extra, tuner, phono. iwas hooked to extra using the cd and by changing to aNY OF THE OTHER POSITION THE low volume was still audable is this normal for this type of unit. iam not sure if this will come up. craig i do reliase you are busy and will be making prep for those la-sh,but if you could give any feedback, iwould appreciate it , also any who has this type of amp. http:llcgi.ebay.com/ws/ebay/sapldd?viewitem.&item=1363306522&ed=102592476&sspagename=ADME:B:EOA.us:2
  10. feeding frenzy is over, way toooooo much corn.
  11. A very probing request. and one that cries out for imformitive responce.I have to with draw my self from any authoritive comments.no knowledge of tube eqpt. Recently purchased De-wald amp and with the very limited exposure it has my cornwalls singing a different tune.Although there are some popping when turning off, and sometimes base is not always upfront, the mids, and highs are defenatly more open.and has me seeking to investigate the tube sound more thourghly. Mike I am really lookig forward to a very enlightened and imformed imformation from the member of this form.As there seems to be a strong reassurgence to tube, If only as a comparison. great topic. errol
  12. My 78 connwalls have copper with stripe R O BB L upper left corner
  13. hey, Justin i'am sorry to hear of your current prognosist, and am aware of the impact it will have on your family. My daughter was diagnoised with tumour's also .in our case the doctors are apprensive in doing a bi-op,in case it is benign and spreads. she is o'k now but we are always vigillant. keep your hope's up.and our prayers will be with you and your family.GOD IS ABLE.
  14. You have really done it. (HEART-TREMMOR) Please take the very good advice of HDBR Builder, your lady is on a trip to aplace where you dont want her to go . MY friend ABSTINANCE fron HT is not so bad, reaquant your self with reality.blues could kill rock &roll,.
  15. MY responce is yes,for all the obvious reasons already stated. When my wife first heard the cornwall her first utterance, and i can't remembering her saying any thing like this in relation to speakers before is I like them, meaning the sound. For those who have ample space it would not be a problem, the most common reason given for selling cornwalls are we dont have the room.Would we be looking at A Cornwall(3) , Using the the heritage compolants and emboded into a modern day speaker able to stand in a crowd. But out perform its compition with all of the forementioned quality already stated by others.Due to a tread reacently posted you will find that a move to the chorus will be evident on ebay.,so yes by all means bring back the cornwall only give it the heart of its predesessor and the style to run rampant in the industry .Then klipsch will rule.
  16. hey- your concern is well appreaciated i will at least do a visual before turning on.???whats a variac.is this some sort of meter, and what does it do. MY concern is going to be on the cornwalls, would not want to fry them.
  17. Allan thanks for your words of engouragement, ihave no experiance with tube, and when an impulse purchase is made reassurance from another is really key.Iam and have been looking forward to receiving it.
  18. i surmise that one of the reason you are concern about the splicing of the cable is the affect it could have on sound quality.cost might also be a factor.iwould go to my local radio shock or home depot and get enough zip cord from the electrical section, replace the wire if this dosnt satisfy cut 3 feet for each of the origonal wire try that if not get the required lenght of the origonal cable.this is how i would approach this problem. bill hope this helps
  19. bill welcome to the best form you will ever be a part of. there are others who might give you good advice ,personally i would move the speakers three feet closer.that should work:
  20. hi craig, thank you for your response. unable to post picture .paid 107 including ins& postage ,would seem that i have picked up an odd ball, but sometimes strange things turn out to be most intresting.imust admit that thought of dewalt did cross my mind.ill see thanks .
  21. leok ithank you for your reply. although ihave purchase this amp i have not yet receive it. i was prepare to purchase a tube amp to have a comparison between my current unit which is a A125x5 acurus.and was hoping some one might have some prior experiance with this amp. i have read other tread reguarding other amps mainly echo, scott, carey and others but was not able to personally audition any of these units also did not necessarly want to lay out large$$ on a trial basis.i am still hoping that some one has or has heard this amp and your opinon would be appreciated.realiseing that if this is not the area in which i choose to go then the cost is not substancial.i will give my my impressions on the performance of the amp.
  22. its a little late now but here goes. just purchase a DE WALD sterio amp. just to seeif i would like it,it wasnt very expensive.can any one tell me if its good bad or indiferent. i will be using this with 78 cornwalls,cd player for now later phono or casset thank you for any comment.
  23. with my limited experiance it seems that this set up has exhausted you. when i first started setting up my system the sound of my quartets was adistant memory my yamaha rx900u was ok but was lacking. after reviewing several article and listening to local audio outlets ibegan to lean towards seperates.thats when i happen upon this site and saw the reviews on the mondial line alocal audio store the sound advice had aht setup that blew me away they were playing the vedio duet musically the seperation andtiming was awesome allthe neuances of sound was very realistic. and this was my measuring stick.i set out to get a ACURUS A125x5 which i had decided onnext came the addition of the other speaker to complement the quartets and received some excelent advice, recominding the ss1 sc1 ksw12 i wasfortunate to pick up an inexpensive pre after hooking up it sounded flat and not what i thought it would be.i say that to say this you have a time in which you can return this equiptment experiment and serch uot the system it tells you when it is right it will also tell you whats not right and if you are not happy take it back before the deadline date andstart over its not an exact science chill and have fun you are not in the drive up window.if you arrive toosoon what else will you do. coltrane a love supreme.
