Can I rent that from 3 hours away and drop it off by my house? Then I have to buy a trailer hitch setup and so forth I take it? Uhual screwed up a car I had before by Jimmy rigging the lights on the trailer and splicing into my wiring without me knowing.... My trust for them is quite high as you can imagine...

All speakers back up for sale. Ed, I SINCERELY appologize, however, these speakers will not all fit in my car. I have a hatchback and I thought 100% for sure they would all fit. I have had Chorus and heresys in my car at the same time prior. I measured 10 different ways, no go. I have only a hatchback available to me. Tried to get some buddies with trucks to help, but they aren't willing to go that kind of distance. 6 hour round trip twice for me wouldn't make sense. I am not a flake, but am forced to back out. GLWS man! Again, sorry.

And as for the comment about crown making terrible sounding amps, have you ever heard a crown macro reference recapped or in spec? One of my all time favorite amps period. Has trim controls so that the beast may be mated to just about anything.

Headroom from a QUALITY amp is never a bad thing. Makes dynamics come alive and the damping factor is often much higher due to larger power supply. I can understand up to double a rated RMS of a speaker. Standard pro practice for live sound. Five times over.... I doubt you will be able to gain stage your gear well and will have trouble setting a proper listening level.

"Same applies to the sound of an audio chain" I think that goes without saying for just about anyone here who has owned a couple pieces of audio gear. My point was: does THIS DBX piece in discussion cause notable degradation? My question has been answered.

Colorless, nice wording. That is what I was getting at. For example, if you were to throw a lot of low to mid level pro gear into your system, a lot of it is noisy and from my experience can certainly quite audibly degrade SQ.

I was thinking of mixing/engineering side of things. What I meant by color the sound is introduce an unpleasant sound in addition to dynamic restoration. I can say, there is a TON of compression if most "modern" music. This is why I said I can certainly see the usefulness of such a a device and I think for many there would be a small learning curve setting it correctly.

Nice. I have never played around with a dynamics expander in a hifI system. If implemented correctly without having a sound signature of its own, I can see the usefulness of such a device.
