  1. DARN ... @kohill ... If you would have been in Florida I would even have given you more $$'s Still looking for a pair of LS bass bins. Want to try them with K510 horns (or K402's, but don't have enough room for those) ... think it will be awesome. Anyone making a "knock-down" kit? Cheers, Emile
  2. Extremely easy, my dog could do it Takes about one beer for each or 2 bottles of wine for all 6. Cheers, Emile
  3. Sounds like a "disco" room to me
  4. Sure it was designed correctly ... was only kidding
  5. Check is in the mail Interestingly, my K510 horns are now "sideways" on my KPT-904 bass bins and still sound excellent (Needed to make room for L/R Heresy's on my AVR - on top of the bins also ... haha; have those turned upside down ) Cheers, Emile
  6. @Coytee. Awesome; thank you SIR! Kept on reading trying to compare them but found it hard to find a good answer - until now. So was going to buy a pair of 402's just to "try them." Guess that's no longer necessary. Thanks for saving me $2000+ Cheers, Emile
  7. Oops ... correcting ... too many numbers to remember
  8. YEAH ... why? Any LS bass bins available near Tampa, FL?
  9. OK; have to add a couple of comments regarding "why" I did not get the La Scala's ... or, haha, get remarks on my "manhood." As stated, had a test session with LS 2's and concluded that there just is no substitute for larger (2" exit) horns. With a 400% bigger area they yield much more presence, clarity and punch. Also they have only 25% distortion compared to 1" exit coils. Spend hours today researching the Jubilee hotns ... the "small" K510 and "large" K402 horns. Found many posts by people trying to "upgrade" their LS 1 &2's ... member @Coytee came up with the "JubScala," basically a LS bottom with a K510 or 402 horn. Even received Roy Delgado's stamp of approval! So; think my KPT-904's are pretty close to the JubScala's Now I'm trying to decide whether to keep my small K510's or upgrade to the big, big 402's. (Maybe I'll try some LS bottoms also if I can find a cheap pair ) Cheers, Emile
  10. No; thank God I missed that
  11. Used to have KG4's and think they sound awesome. Replaced them with Forte's and those required a lot more work to get them as good as the KG4's. Used them in a small stereo room with KG1.5's in the rear; sounded excellent. No clue about the center channel ... had several but never got the sound right ... now using Heresy's as L/R/center on my AVR. Here (in Florida) you can buy KG4's all day long. Most people are asking about $400 for them, but don't think they get more than $300. I am sure prices in Alaska are higher, so probably a decent deal with the center. Cheers, Emile add-on ... BTW, think the KG4's sound much better than KG5.5's
  12. Never turned the sub on ... 15" SVS
  13. Yeah Love my KPT-904's, but was looking at the "big sale" on the LS2's But like my horn on the 904's ... therefore looking for the "ultimate" horn the K-402 Jubilee horn, Yes, my friend has a good sub, but I "just" wanted to hear the LS2's so we turned if off. Cheers, Emile
  14. Actually looking for K-402 Jube horns Think they will work pretty good with my KPT-904 bass bins (sorry; forgot the "actual number" of those). Anyone with a bargain? Haha
  15. Cory equals Metropolis Outfitters? add-on ... found it; thanks!
  16. Well ... wasn't looking forward to eating BigMac's and having to live in the "other side" of the house, but if the sound is worth it I could do it OK, heard them before but wanted to be sure. So; went to visit a friend (100 mi roundtrip) to check out his LS II's (w/ Oppo player and Mac MC275's). Very impressed with the awesome very clear and defined bass sound; also liked the mid/high range. Got back home and fired up my KPT-904's (w/ a cheaper Oppo and a cheaper Marantz) ... bass digs a little bit deeper, but not as "refined." But the 510 horns (with 3" B&C drivers) made the decision for me. Sorry, but IMHO much better than the LS's. Know I'll hear about that So, decided NOT to get them Probably will regret it when the sale is over but meanwhile I'll continue to drink good wine instead of "two buck chuck." Cheers, Emile PS, Played the same music on both ... Beethoven's 9th, Tchaikovsky 1st violin concerto, Pavarotti, Genesis, Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Pink Floyd and Cream PS2, Even got my wife to say "OK; if you really want them, get them ...." Add-on ... think I have decided to get some Jubilees ... if I can ever find them
  17. They are still trying to count to ten
  18. No "addition." The C368 would be "just" a pre-amp. Watts per channel will be determined by the main power amp. Cheers, Emile
  19. Think you will be just fine with the C368. Have 3 heresy's on an Onkyo RZ810 AVR .... supposedly 130W/ch but if you read the fine print it's probably a lot less than 80W/ch. Still sounds very, very good. But ... if you are using it just for 2 channel music I would recommend a vintage McIntosh or Marantz (Using a Marantz 2252B - only 52W/ch on KPT-904's and it's AWESOME.) Cheers, Emile
  20. Welcome to the forum. Don't know if you will get any response ... had never even heard of Chane speakers Only thing I know is that the Denon 4400 is a very good amp. Cheers, Emile
  21. YEAH But can't complain too much ... I'm retired and she is still working We eat a lot of lobster ... and drink even more good wine
  22. If they would have been New Zealand walnut ... yes But guess you only have sheep over there and no walnut trees
  23. If I recall correctly, there is only a small brace right above the bottom ports. Did forget about the risers though But still pretty sure
  24. Haha ... "I" am not the problem ... trying to figure out how to sell this to my wife Last time I bought a pair of speakers for $1000, she went on a shopping spree in New York ... cost me about 5 times that . So; these La Scalas would probably cost me about 6 x $5700 = $34,200 ... Jeez
  25. Jeez ... very tempting Only $5600 Hell; made three times that in the market today But they would be replacing my KPT-904's which I "just" got and absolutely love Going to have some vino before I decide
