  1. Denon fan here. You will find many Denon fans on this forum. It gives a wonderful warm sound. Great for movies and music. Someone earlier didn't like it for the stereo music, personally I love it. When I play music instead of using Prologic II I use 5 or 6 channel stereo. It great for listening to music and really makes the most out of the bass.
  2. Moon I need that picture. The Fiance went home early to go work and I need to turn this place into a bachlor pad. zandern@uwplatt.edu
  3. Too rich for my blood. Hope you enjoy it, give us some feed back when it comes.
  4. I have the Denon 2802. I would have liked the 3802, but didn't have the funds. The 3803 looks great and I too can testify that the Denon'Klipsch compo sounds great. My dealer usually recommends the Denon with the Klipsch too and he sells Yamaha, Denon, H/K, and a few others. As with the difficult set up, to me it was easy, I uses the on-screen set up and everthing went well. As with any new receiver it takes time to get to know where everything is, but after a while you know it like the back of your hand.
  5. I actually like THX DVDs better than DD or even DTS. I think they sound better and use a lot more bass. For example Monsters Inc. Doesn't need alot of bass, but THX put it into the movie and its incredible with it.
  6. I have the Denon 2802 and it works excellent for me. I have the RF-3II's and together they make great music. I can't say I have a single complaint about my receiver and it offers plenty of hook ups so you won't need to upgrade in the future, except of course if you want new stuff like 8.1 or 10.1 when that eventually comes out. But it does play DTS-ES which is awesome for movies and has 5 channel and 6 channel stereo which is great for blasting music. Good looking receiver too, doesn't look like the cheap plasitic look of the outlaws.
  7. If I purchase a DVD recorder will I be able to make copies of my current DVD's? I heard that they put some sort of block on them so you can't copy them.
  8. I keep the grills off of my RF3-II's. I was wondering if the sun would damage the rubber seals around the woofers and make them brittle over time?
  9. First of all its a great deal. Second of all I would offer to sell the speakers on this site if you are looking to get rid of them. Or try eBay, if you don't get what you listed them for you don't have to sell them.
  10. You could adopt me. Pay for my college and for more HT equipment and I'll talk audio with you, go fishing, bars, hell of a time we'll have.
  11. I just use my Denon 2802 so I can't really help you. I would post again in the 2 channel section. You might get more responses there.
  12. http://for-men-only.freeservers.com/electronics.htm I found this while screwing around. I has all sorts of electronics and links to all kinds of stuff we like. I didn't look long but thought you guys might like this. You can click on HT and there is a whole page full of HT stores and websites.
  13. I was going to buy the Infinity IL40's for MRSP $500 each. Read all about them and reseached them. Listenend to them in the same room as klipsch and polk audio and Infinity took last. Klipsch won, RF-3II's less money and sounded all around better.
  14. I see monster cable at Best Buy. I see the exact same moster cable at circuit city and American. American carries Klipsch reference line. All three sell the same cable at the same price so its not just Best Buy. I know a girl who was a manager at Circuit City. Audio equipment is among the highest mark up of all equipment. She said some speakers are marked up as much as 600%. Thats right 600%. They know that we will still buy it.
  15. m00n-March 20 was choosen probably by random. But I got the steak and bj day from an email going around and that is the day they had. skonopa-St. Patricks Day doesn't suck. Everyone in WI goes out and drinks green beer. Just another good reason for drinking. Kinda like days that end in y. I agree Valentines day sucks. I spent $35 on flowers plus $10 on ballons, and that is cheap for me compared to other years. Still have to take her out to eat and maybe buy her a shirt or something. You would think since I gave her a $2500 diamond ring last year on Valentines day that I should be good for a couple decades, but nope, back to the old routine of flowers.
  16. Two great subs are SVS and Sunfire. SVS is only sold over the internet and many people here have them. They are very big, cylinders and from what I hear go down to 20hz. I have never heard one before. But I have heard the Sunfire Signature. Excellent subs. Dual 12" woofers in a 13X13 box, will surprize the heck out you. I don't know how to recommend other than go big. What are your room dimensions?
  17. From reading all your posts I think you are very spoiled.
  18. Good thinking moon, its mostly guys here and we have to watch out for one and another. While on the subject March 20 is now offically steak and BJ day. Its pretty self explainatory. Women get Valentines Day every Feb.14. So every March 20 is steak and BJ day. Pass the word as we have to inform everyone of this new holiday.
  19. Why are you spending so much money on everything else (rf3's, svs)but going cheap on the receiver. I would save and spend allitle more on one.
  20. Yes, even with no disk in go to setup or audio on your DVD remote, make sure to set the DVD player to allow DTS. You may have to look in your owners manual. It maybe PCM or PCM/Stream.
  21. You forgot to mention the best. Denon. Very soft sounding and go great with the Klipsch.
  22. I asked this too since it is a major puchase. People told me that in one minute a tweeter moves like 99 gazillion times in and out, so after about 3 seconds they are broke in. But I still played it safe, listened for about 10 minutes at a moderate level, then I cranked my favorite music to see exactly how loud they go. Never got to full volume, hurt too much:)
  23. Ya I just got screwed too. I moved this weekend from an downstairs all college student apartment building to an upstairs, old building with retired people and professors. I'm affraid that I'm never going to be able to turn my denon above 40-45. It's not like I can walk around and check each of the 9 doors around me and see if they are home or not. Sucks @ss.
  24. I kinda figured it was with the higher frequencies, but yet if my crossover is set right why doesn't the more expensive sub play those higher frequencies as loud as the cheaper subs. Its not really a volume question, both subs are set at the same volume or sometimes even both of them are set to max. But I have had other people agree too even a salesmen. Hmm?
  25. Everyone is talking about the grills? I dont' see them? Am I blind or looking at a different picture?
