  1. Well, today marks the one-year anniversary of my Jubilee preorder. I knew when I placed the order that it would be some time before I'd get them. However, I would not have guessed that one year later that I'd still be waiting. Come on Klipsch, you can do it! Push those things out the door!
  2. With respect to Klipsch speakers in particular, it's not simply that a speaker is 2-way or 3-way. In my opinion what sets Heritage and the other 3-way Klipsch (like the 3-way Legend series and the Palladium series) apart from the 2-way Klipsch consumer lines is that more of the frequency range is covered by horn-loaded drivers. In the Klipsch consumer lines of speakers, most of the 2-way speakers hand off from horns to cones in the range of 1200 Hz to as high as 2500 Hz. In contrast, the consumer line 3-way speakers (that are not fully horn-loaded) transition from horns to cones in a range of like 500 Hz to 850 Hz. This means that the consumer 3-way and fully horn-loaded speakers will have less distortion and better coverage control in the critical lower and middle region of the mid-range frequencies where the bulk of the musical and vocal action is. To my ears the 3-way Klipsch consumer speakers and the fully-horn-loaded ones (whether 3-way or 2-way like the Jubilee) sound more effortless, cleaner, less veiled, and more accurate in the mid-range. I call it the Klipsch "mid-range magic". So, over the years my serious listening systems have been made up of either Heritage series, the Forte family, 3-way Legend series, or Palladium series speakers.
  3. That certainly is part of it. The Celestion HF driver allowed the crossover point to be lowered. That combined with the improved splay angles of the bifurcated LF horn mouths allows the polars of both horns to better match at crossover. Also, the new phase plug extension for the Celestion/402 combo in the new Jubilee allows consistent HF polars up past 19 kHz. This makes the polars very consistent across almost the whole frequency range, making the speaker sound pretty much the same at any spot within the whole horn coverage angle.
  4. Exactly. The Underground Jubilee was excellent at this and the Heritage Jubilee actually improves on it. It was the majority, if not unanimous (at least I don't remember anyone disagreeing), opinion of the attendees of JubFest back in October that the new Jubilee has better integration of HF & LF when Roy did the mono side-by-side demos for us.
  5. I wasn't talking about stereo imaging, although the Jubilee are amazing at that. I was speaking per individual speaker, of the HF and LF blending into a single sonic whole. Basically, how far away from the speaker you have to be before you stop hearing the influence of individual drivers. With some large speakers, you have to be a good distance away for this to happen.
  6. You could have purchased one at the PWK Birthday Bash auction too, if you had attended the event. 😉
  7. I went with the standard walnut finish. So, I'm hoping I'll be at or near the front of the line. 🤞
  8. I am really sick of waiting but there is nothing I can do to change the situation. I've had the equipment and planned room treatments in place for months. I've even had the decorating (Klipsch theme, of course 🙂) completed for about a month now. These are the posters I've put in the room (along with a bunch of other Klipsch stuff).
  9. So much for the "April 2022" Jubilee launch mentioned in the article. Someday... 🙂
  10. A quick web search gives a few solutions to try. I'm not sure if these are among the cleaners that you have already tried. The most common is to use a cloth with rubbing alcohol or pre-moistened alcohol pads to clean the surface. Others recommend ammonia/Windex or a baking soda paste. If you find anything that works well, let us know. I'll need to know when my KMC-1 starts to get sticky. 🙂
  11. Ha, didn't notice that. Those are CG renderings. So, either it's intentional or whoever created that accidentally picked the wrong material to render on that panel.
  12. I never understood the desire to run multiple speakers playing the same channel signals. Yes, you can achieve higher SPL, but you are introducing other issues. Correct stereo imaging depends on the amplitude, phase/timing, and directional information coming from each channel arriving at your ear without losing that information or adding anything to it. This will allow your ear/brain system to properly process it and turn it into a stereo image in your head. In turn, this allows you to locate sounds between the speakers that are a reasonable reproduction of what was captured by the microphone or created at the mixing console. Ideally, this means there should only be one early arrival of the sound of each channel at each ear. This is one reason why people treat their rooms to eliminate the early reflections. However, when you add more speakers reproducing the same channel you are now intentionally adding multiple early arrivals at each ear. This causes confusion for the ear/brain system and can muddy or destroy the imaging. Another downside to having multiple speakers per channel is that there will be interference between them depending on the distance between them and the frequencies being reproduced (a.k.a. comb filtering). Peaks and dips can be present at different locations. If you want higher SPL, just get a more capable pair of speakers. In case you haven't guessed by now, I'd recommend just one pair of Forte II.
  13. Perhaps, but my experience was based on purchasing when it was a current product.
  14. I never thought the Academy was a great match for any of the 3-way Klipsch speakers. When the era of Dolby Digital surround started (probably around 1992), I had original Forte speakers for the mains in our first home theater. I was looking to get my first center speaker and had the following experience. At the time Klipsch only had three speakers marketed as center channel speakers: the KG 1.2V, the KG 2.2V, and the Academy. At first, I tried going as inexpensive as I thought I could reasonably go and purchased a KG 2.2V. This speaker was totally inadequate to match the Fortes. It sounded nothing like them and could not “keep up” due to much lower sensitivity/max output. So, I traded that in for an Academy. I did not find it to be a sonic match for the Fortes either (despite Klipsch marketing it as such). It was definitely a much better center than the KG 2.2V but still didn’t work for me. It sounds more like a match for the original kg series, not the Forte family. From the moment I started using it, I was aware of the sound character change in the center as sounds panned across the front. It was very disconcerting and was a constant distraction. Soon after I got the Academy I went back to the dealer and made a deal to trade it in for a single Heresy II. The 3-way design was a much better match for the 3-way Fortes. I was very happy with that decision. Just recently I acquired a KLF-C7 for another system. So, I did a quick comparison using KLF-30 mains with the KLF-C7 and my Heresy II. The KLF-C7 is a decent match for 3-way Klipsch mains. It's definitely not as good a match as a Heresy but it's a better match than the Academy in my opinion. I imagine the KV-4, which is very similar to the C7 but with a larger tweeter diaphragm, might also be a decent match as well.
  15. The new Jubilee bass bin is actually heavier at a hair over 400 lbs. because it's made of MDF. I was told that needed to use MDF due to its better consistency/dimensional accuracy.
  16. LOL. I've been thinking the same thing over the past few days. It would make a great horn-loaded sub option. Package the bass bin with an external amp/crossover with the usual powered sub controls.
  17. Do similar settings exist for the La Scala bass bin with the K-510/K-691?
  18. I should have been clear that my statement wasn't directed at you. It was directed at the other forum member that you were quoting and others who hold that unsubstantiated opinion.
  19. Only someone who hasn't heard the new Jubilee would make such a comment. I've had the great privilege of hearing the new Jubilee twice now, last October at JubFest and in March at the PWK Birthday Bash. All the attendees at JubFest were Underground Jubilee owners or their significant others except for me. (I was invited because I had put in my preorder for them in May of 2021.) It was the unanimous opinion that the new Jubilee with its "horn-loaded vented system" bass bin was a significant improvement in every way over the Underground Jubilee. Anyone thinking Roy would do anything "half-baked" is being ridiculous. Also, it's not like this is the first implementation of the horn-loaded vented system. Ask all the Underground Jubilee owners who purchased a KPT-1802-HLS (or the smaller 1502) cinema subwoofer to fill in the bottom octaves what they think of them.
  20. I believe all versions of the previous Jubilee (with the original KPT-KHJ-LF bas bin) have been discontinued. My understanding was that the Heritage Jubilee will be the only verion available from now on.
  21. Roy assured me that these will sound fantastic even in a small room. I've had two chances to hear them already, once at JubFest back in October and at the PWK Birthday Bash last month. The sound from the speaker actually coheres into a single source quite a short distance away. These can go in a smaller room than Khorns.
  22. The stuff in the case with the headphones is this: Headphone Stand: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DLL6XHV/ Mini Easel (natural color): https://www.michaels.com/artists-loft-mini-easels/M10219091.html The "sign" is just a coaster from this set: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GLL2GQ1/ The "printing" was just done on clear matte adhesive label sheets and cut to fit on the coaster: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HJBH5E/ I took the Klipsch Heritage Headphones graphic off the website and modified it to be black on a transparent background. I then used an Avery printer label Microsoft Word document template, modified the label "size" to be the size of the coaster, made the label outline printable, and centered the graphic in it. That way I got it to print the graphic and a cut line on the label sheet.
  23. I got the glass cloche on Esty. I was going to post the link to it for you. However, when I went to my purchases and clicked it, the item was no longer there. Here's a snip of the item in my purchase history.
  24. I have KLF-20 and 30. I did put Crites titanium tweeters in mine but that was just to get a little better top end extension. Never noticed the issues that you describe with either the stock or Crites tweeters.
