  1. I love the snow...but living in Texas, I don't see but a few inches of the stuff every couple of years or so. And by the time THAT"S gone, the novelty of it is wearing off. I couldn't imagine actually having to shovel the drive, dig out the car, ect. My hat's off to you Yankees as far as that goes.

    Wahoo!

Welcome to the club, Sosa. I hope you enjoy those babies for a long time before the upgrade bug bites you!!
  3. dylanl, glad you found a more respectable place to hang out!
  4. How sad. They don't even know left from up.
  5. 'nother bump... Good luck frzn. A fair price for that good condition.

Dan ---------------- Danartdis, Yeah, that's the quandry all right. I thought I may be able to have my cake and eat it too by goin with the SVS PB12 Ultra 2. May even run them both at the same time??? And yeah, I also wonder what the beast would do with a quality 1000 watt amp, instead of the PE. But I have to admit, I don't think it's possible to get more slam for the buck than we did with the JBLs.
  7. I know many here bought these at the tent sale, and have been satisfied to varying degrees. My self included. I need some input on how these things stack up against any SVS product you may have heard to compare them. I was recently bitten by the up-grade-idus bug. I got a pretty fair deal on a 225x5 Sunfire Cinema Grand II, and could not be happier with it. LOVE it, actually. But that was kinda like giving an alcoholic ONE sip of liquor. Now I want to upgrade from the 4648. The thing is, I really like the JBL, and would be really po'ed if I spent a $1000-$2000 on something and it didn't really outclass my little $365 JBL Bass Bin, and that includes the parts express amp. So once again, I turn to this wonderful forum for advice. I know there are a ton of respected folks here who run SVS, but have any of you actually got to compare them against the JBLs? Thanks in advance for any and all replies .

It's almost like something between conciousness and dreaming, I think. Wonderful state to be in.
  9. I guess now I have to learn to re size the pics...sorry Front End Left Rear Right Rear
  10. If I had the room for that, I would use a fifth cornwall, which would be ideal. I'm talking about a true center, about the size of an academy or RC-7.
  11. They would have to be one of the exotic finishes and in prestine condition for me to pay that. I've got less than $1250 in BOTH of my pairs.
  12. Classy. Very Classy. Kudos to you for all your hard work.

  14. Griff, I'm with ya bud. No such thing as overkill in Heritage HT!! One day I hope to have a Heritage HT that Q-Man would be proud of. The quest for the Holy Grail continues.....
  15. OK, I know everybody's got one. You know, those movies that are generally accepted as not being worth a sh**, but that you love anyway. C'mon, fess up. I'll start. Two that come to mind for me are "Tremors" and "Joe Dirt". Just can't help it. It's like a train wreck. You don't want to look, but you just HAVE to. Yeah Yeah, I know.
  16. I have no misconceptions. I know dang well Klipsch won't build it. I was just saying I would be willing to plunk down hard earned cash if they DID. Basically, just wishfull thinking.
  17. You get 'em, dawg!! Ebay needs more people like you.
  18. Congratulations on a wise purchase. I think you will be amazed at the sound quality. Just listen to it for a while and then go down to the local worst buy and listen to something NON-Klipsch in the same price range as you spent, and I promise, you will walk out of there with a smile on your face that won't wash off!! Welcome to the club!
  19. Gramas, Yes, they sell the kind your parents have, but the one I am recommending is simply a box with two inputs for the amps, and one out going to the speakers. Nothing but a three way switch, basically. Induces no interference or amplification what so ever, and negligible resistance. Garymd of this board turned me on to it, and I used one for a while with great results. It is just the ticket for what he wants to do, letting his speakers pull double duty as two channel and HT.
  20. It is never a good idea to hook two amps to the same speakers. You want one of these http://www.nilesaudio.com/products/source_switching.html , a Niles DPS-1 selector. Around $90.00, which is cheap compared to your speakers/amps.
  21. Well, I for one will admit that without hitting the Lottery, I would not be able to pay $10,000 for a Jubilee. I would, however, sure as hell pay up to 10% of that for a HERITAGE CENTER CHANNEL.
  22. GO FOR LOOKS...100%...I did. Yep, I didn't like cheap plastic and particle board speakers with cheap veneers , so I went with hand made, furniture grade cabinets with beautiful, matching bookend grained hardwood veneer built with pride by true master craftsmen in Hope Arkansas.....Oiled Walnut Cornwalls!!! And besides looking better, they have serious SLAMMMM.
  23. popbumper, Yeah, Mesquite actually. And yes, there are a LOT of hornheads in this area. The DFW Hornheads were holding listening sessions all around town a while back, but I don't know if they still are. Eqshadimar, a respected member of this forum would know. Good choice with the center. I also suffer from tennitus, from too much shooting throughout my life. And I'm sure the R&R in the 70s didn't help much. When I saw AC-DC in 79, my ears rang non stop for two days.
  24. I know I'm coming in late on this, but I had to do it. Ashlee Simpson.....retch & puke...rrrgh. Hell, my 12 year old pop nut daughter even knows she sucks.
