  1. Can you tell Christmas is just around the corner? I think there are five more open for bidding....may be interesting.
  2. Jonathan is right on here. I got an Elite VSX24TXi that was like new, box, manual, remote,...the works. Found it for $150.00! It is not state of the art, but with 90 WPC, it will blow your sox off with Klipsch!
  3. Well, I was wondering what you did with the Heresys. How do you like the new set up? Looks great and I read a raving review Dave did on your system, so it must sound quite impressive. I can't wait to get an approiate center to go with my four corns. Just havent figured out how to make a Heresy work in my situation yet.
  4. Welcome back, Ranger. Nice photos, keep em coming. May God bless you and your brothers in arms and keep you all safe.
  5. Lancestorm: "Currently I have the 525 set to neutral (12 noon) on both treble and bass. I find the treble to be up a bit high sometimes. Would it be safe to maybe place the treble 3/4 of the way to the right (say 1:30 - 2pm)" Maybe I'm missing something here, but if you find the treble to be too high with the control set flat, why would you want to turn the treble control up????
  6. BBB, the DVD is 'Rush in Rio'.At Wal Mart for <$23.00. I have heard this is a most excellent DVD, but haven't picked one up yet. I'm off tomorrow, and will fly by night over to Wally World and pick one up this evening when I get off.
  7. Space Cowboy, thanks for the link. I t0o have always been facinated by this sleek aircraft.
  8. the "type" designation will give you that information. cwo=cornwall, walnut oil coo=cornwall, oak oil, ect..
  9. hOt DnaM, TahT's GEART Nwes. NOw waHT auobt CapITlaztoiN?
  10. Flason, congrats on a super deal and a killer set of horns. Enjoy!
  11. MrMcGoo, hopefully it is simply a mistake on the Credit Unions part. However, this brings up an issue which simply can not be ignored. Identity theft. If you know anyone who has ever been a victem of identity theft, you know what I'm talking about. Man, it can royally screw up your life. I suggest shredding all statements you receive at home that contain any information you would not want a low life having access to. I used to think this line of thinking was a little paranoid, until I saw a guy actually going through trash bags in my alley. This was no poor, domicile challenged fellow either. He had a car parked in one of my neighbors driveway! Better safe than sorry.
  12. ric: "are there any real diffrences in the wire other than just gage? thanks for the tip. ric." Yes....price, as those who took the ABX test in Indy will tell you. Go down to Home Depot and buy a 250 foot roll of 14 or 16 gauge speaker wire for 40-60 bucks. The only difference you will notice will be in your wallet
  13. Gary, first of all, welcome to the nuthouse, er, Forum. OK, you asked... 1. Get rid of your wife. 2. Get rid of the RS7s. 3. Go back to Khorn mains with the LaScalla Center. 4. Get two more LaScallas to use for the rears. Simple!!! And as close to a perfect HT as one could ask. OK, sorry, I couldn't resist. You may try using the LaScallas for mains, and getting three heresys for center/surround duty. They will match up better than the reference series with the las, and won't take up too much more space.
  14. tbabb... nice work, and a worthwhile mod, IMO.I have a somewhat similar situation with my most recently purchased Cornwalls. They started out life as Decorator models. However, the original owner decided he didn't like the black finish. (This is the story he told me, at least) He had a cabinet maker build a new cabinet of 3/4" walnut veneered plywood AROUND the old cabinets. Tops, bottoms, and sides. The guy did an OK job, but nowhere near the quality of a factory finish. For this reason, I almost passed on the purchase. However, I figured for $500.00 and local pickup, I could live with them. These are 77s and I set them up next to my 76s for some A/B testing, and low and behold, they sounded better than my all original 76s! Better bass for sure. So I am pretty happy with them. The only down side is moving them. Man, they have got to be the heaviest Cornwalls on the planet!.
  15. They are from 1977, a good year. May be the pics, but they look very dark for medium oak.
  16. That's a good deal. Alas, I too just purchased a new rack just last wednesday. The Bell'o BAS-392BW. I love it.

  18. OK, at the risk of angering anyone that's already in the hunt for these: From the Dallas Morning News Classifieds: "Klipsch Corner Horns oiled, walnut. Mint condition! 972-231-5580." I called the guy, and he is asking $1700.00. That may be negotiable, I did not haggle as I can't swing the deal at this time. He is the original owner, bought them new from Hillcrest HiFi around 1980. He says they do not have a scratch on them. And get this...he says he has an early 70s pair of Heresys that he will "throw in" the deal. Good luck!

  21. I also advise to just leave them stock for at least 4-6 months. And welcome to the "Slam" club!
  22. God bless them both. They will both be missed.
