  1. It is a Nobsound hybrid integrated amp. https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07C2121GZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  2. The only thing I agree with is that, like Haägen-Dasz, Klipsch should use more sex in its advertising... 😉 On a more serious note, the posters above only talk about the Heritage line, and carefully ignore the millions of other speakers labeled Klipsch, sold around the world. So I challenge 'those in the know' and part of Klipsch's working force: can you clarify who and where the Klipsch home theater products, just to pick one line, are designed, engineered and manufactured?
  3. I'm using my RP 160M speakers with a Denon RCD M41 microsystem (2x 30W) and/or a cheap, china made 2X50W hybrid integrated tube amp, and they both would blow the roof off the house if turned to the maximum. (I actually like the cheap, dual tube, amp better than the Denon...)
  4. I'm not sure I understand you well. The Rouge Audio Sphinx is made in the US, right? It is the Taga that is made in China, all be it a European design.
  5. The Taga says: 'Engineered and Designed in the European Union, made in China.' At least they are honest about it.
  6. This is just one example, there are many out there, some made in China, like this one, but others are 'first world' products as well. https://www.tagaharmony.com/en/products/3655/home-electronics/product/1144/hta-25b "HTA-25B is a 25W / 4ohm high-fidelity but still affordable hybrid integrated amplifier utilizing two 6P1 and two 6N1 tubes in the preamp section and transistors at the output powered by an audiophile grade toroidal power transformer. This solution ensures a very warm, linear and lifelike sound with high dynamic presentation at the same time."
  7. There are many hybrid integrated tube amps out there at an attractive price. Being new to all this, I wonder what the difference is between a hybrid and a ''full' tube amp. I understand that a hybrid amp has transistors in the power section. But how does this affect the sound quality, for better or worse?
  8. Here is my source: https://www.jukebox-revival.eu/staging/buizen/psvane/buis-kt88-psvane-2x.html
  9. I'd love to hear your experienced verdict on this (not so) cheap, Chinese tube amp. I've read that burn-in for these lamps is closer to 300 hours, though...
  10. Or you can buy a separate bluetooth receiver for about for about €20 which connects to the amp through rca. Spotify, qobuz, deezer... They all offer excellent streaming.
  11. Well, I gathered all my courage and cleaned the dust off the tweeters with a wet kitchen towel and all is fine! Being slightly hyperbolic... 😉
  12. That program is almost as old as NOS tubes! 😉 Specs: Processor: Minimum 486, recommended Pentium or better. Display: 640 x 480 or greater, with 16 colour capability, as a minimum.
  13. Hmm... I've read here that Klipsch' after sales support is terrible. There 's easily a ten day wait before they even send you a support ticket... 😉 I guess that was mean...
  14. I own a set of RP 160M speakers. The tweeter is rubbery and sticky and the dust literally sticks to it. If I use my finger on it, the dust stays on the rubber, not on my finger. So how do I clean the tweeters?
  15. As it is said in the video, if you use the usb cable that came with the speaker and still have problems, it may be a Windows issue (driver), not an issue of the speaker...
  16. This may help: make sure you use a USB3 port and a USB3 cable! In detail here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgjNUB_KKQA
  17. Are you talking about USB and Bluetooth at the same time? As for bluetooth connection failure, another of your devices may still be connected to the speakers and preventing your new connection. If so, determine what device (could be a tablet or phone or computer), delete ('forget') the connection on that device, and then try to pair your pc to the speakers.
  18. Or you could turn it around: amazing how in other countries they charge far too much for what it is... How often do we pay premium for nothing more than a label or brand name tag glued on it, worth a couple of cents..., the 'premium' amp produced in the same Chinese factory as the cheap one, with the same components...
  19. Thank you all for the input. Not having the dexterity, nor the ambition, I'll continue to enjoy my little Chinese amp with two small tubes, and hopefully, later on, buy a decent quality tube amp!
  20. I'm very interested in your experiences with the Elekit (TU8200) tube amps kits. I have recently bought a pair of Klipsch RP 160M speakers mostly using a Denon microsystem with it. Last week, I bought a small, China made amp with two 6J1 tubes for under $100 and it sounds amazing with the Klipsch speakers (and on all the speakers I have in the house). In fact, it sounds better than the Denon. So now I'm really interested in a 'good' tube amp. I read Ken Rockwell's review of the Elekit https://kenrockwell.com/audio/elekit/tu-8200.htm. I'm just afraid I'm not up to the task of putting it together myself because I have NO soldering experience what so ever. I live in Europe - Belgium. The official importer of Elekit amps is in Poland. They charge €200 for full assembly. In your opinion, is that still a good deal? What is your experience with DIY tube amp kits? http://getaudio.eu/en/elekit-tu-8200-6l6gc-single-tube-amplifier-diy-kit/ https://tubedepot.com/products/elekit-tu-8200-stereo-tube-amplifier-kit
  21. Vinyl records should sound as good (or better) as CDs and streaming music on your system. I've done comparisons many times! Setting up a turntable correctly is well explained here: https://www.whathifi.com/advice/how-to-set-turntable
  22. I'm a newbie... How does one interpret this database? The larger the dynamic range, the better? Red is bad, green is good?
  23. After buying a set of RP 160M bookshelf speakers recently, I became very curious about the tube sound many audiophiles are so raving about. In order to have taste of it, I bought a cheap hybrid valve amplifier: PJ Miaolai M8: https://www.amazon.com/Nobsound-Bluetooth-Amplifier-Digital-Audio/dp/B07BHNPPMS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1547050804&sr=8-3&keywords=nobsound+Bluetooth+vacuum+tube+power For this price, it sounds amazing! Built in bluetooth (easily connects to my Amazon Fire HD tablet). It has much more power than my Denon M41 microsystem. I was planning on passing it on to my teenage sons, but now I want to keep it myself! Hope this keeps working properly!
  24. I bought a cheap hybrid valve amplifier: PJ Miaolai : https://www.amazon.com/Nobsound-Bluetooth-Amplifier-Digital-Audio/dp/B07BHNPPMS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1547050804&sr=8-3&keywords=nobsound+Bluetooth+vacuum+tube+power I plan to run it with my (formerly redundant) Denon speakers, but I was very curious how it sounds with my Klipsch RP 160M speakers. For this price, it sounds amazing! Built in bluetooth (works excellent with my Amazon Fire HD tablet), one RCA and one 3.5mm jack aux. The volume on the Klipsch speakers is very impressive; sound quality too! Hope this keeps working properly!
  25. I listened to it in streaming. Great album. The remastered songs are now in stereo, while the original album was mono.
