  1. Well, the best part is it's money in the bank that you can listen to......
  2. Is it possible there is a defect? Just asking cause I have a couple. I use them with large speakers so musical is not a big concern. I use them for movies and effects. I would however not describe them as musical compared to an rsw or even some newer versions. But as Mark said settings and placement ??
  3. Really.....cause I thought about keeping them till the bidding went over 1k.
  4. Thanks Bruce, you're right, they were not very eff. but sounded big for their size. I was pretty amazed at the sound for really small speakers. The word balanced actually is a good description.
  5. I did not know/see he asked, in that case it would be perfectly appropriate to post/advise regarding pricing.
  6. I love em'. I have a few but saw one just a few days ago somewhere, still 15.00. I hook one to a T amp, put it in a basket on front porch. Run a couple speakers on porch with it. I an sit back watch the sky and play any of 11,000 flac tunes from server. Of course youtube red, GP, anything you can pull up on screen. I hook another to a half century old Sansui and it's even better than a new avr with all the bells. Maybe the best 15 bucks I ever spent on a new item.
  7. Ha...thanks Russ. I guess lots of things all over are "new" .
  8. Wow, I may have misread the thread but......Are members here telling the guy how to price his gear ? Did I miss something ? I have never seen that excepted anywhere. He can price em' at 10k and if you dont want em', move along.....
  9. KLF 20, maybe my favorite Klipsch speaker, good luck.
  10. Is that the consensus,? you appear a good candidate for the ref line . It's that or Heritage and I'm not sure klf's will work for ya...😉
  11. 18 ft !, man you better get some floorstanders......Well, it would be nice anyway....
  12. Tough call but I would prefer a better quality speaker than a large speaker. I just sold some mint rf82s" in box for $400 , I like the best of both worlds....
  13. How could we know this stuff would be worth so much someday. I thought maybe it was worth a few hundred when I bought it. A guy buying some speakers offered me $800 without even turning it on. I posted here a few years back on some Rogers ls34 or something speakers I bought at a flea market for 5 bucks. I sold them for $2000 on ebay. They were maybe 6 in wide, 10 in tall, 4 inch woofer ??? go figure...
  14. Thanks, absolutely silent on all knobs and switches. I'm guessing this sat many years unused, it looks anyway. The control over freq. etc.. is pretty good too, easy to dial in great sound in three different rooms.
  15. I suggest floor standers for a big room but......If you get really good book shelfs that would still be fine. Keep in mind book shelfs may need stands.
  16. I can't tell you how many copper speakers I've seen that were damaged. I've never understood it unless someone has kids, covers off and they whomp em'. I've owned many reference, never had problems with speaker, feet or grills.
  17. It looks ok except get the largest mains you can fit/afford. You certainly don't need to worry about the rc62, it's a really good speaker.
  18. The reason rf5's go for good money is they are a great speaker, much better than the speakers that followed. The rf5 vs 35, or 82, 82II, or whatever the newer ones, rf5 beats them easily, imo.
  19. I stocked up on these, and gave them as gifts for Christmas. These are an unbelievable value that make any preamp with rca input 21st century. They also are kinda like analog connections in general, they just work.
  20. Hi Russ, Very happy the 15's found such a great home with you. I'm pretty sure thread crapping is not possible on this thread......
  21. Thanks and certainly I agree. I can't imagine even after 2 decades those parts would be meeting original spec. This set is from 73/74, about 45 years, hard to believe. I'm not in an area in Cornfield County that's got a lot of "techs" I would trust (maybe if Jr. Samples were still alive) I have seen occasionally a guy in OHIO on craigslist, East of Cinci I think maybe 50 miles ?? He ads he restores amps etc....pretty far without knowing him.
  22. Thanks, .....bummer cause most people here are geniuseses.
  23. Well that's what I'm thinking but for months it's been solid. I can't imagine what parts are in it but they must have been pretty good to still put out such a great sound with endless power it seems. So, another ? to anyone, is there a good course of action to update it someday?
