  3. Welcome to the Forum @Marco970. I am very happy that you have read this pages and that you are interested in this project. But you have set yourself some goals. This is a project that took months to be realized. It cost nerves, energy and a lot of money. Nevertheless I would do it again and again, because the final result is in no relation to the effort. I also don't know if you can implement it the same way I did, without prior knowledge it gets complicated. I also come from Germany, had parts made specially manufactured for me and don't know how you want to get the exact same parts, e.g. for example the new aluminium extensions for the cabinet decoupling ,the AWG 16 Jantzen wax coils, the silver mica´s, the Mundorf MSupreme copper-Nickel or High End Thel resistors, and so on. Some parts surely aren´t available on the american market. I fully agree with you, the serial model of the RF7 MK II is and remains a great loudspeaker, otherwise I would not have bought it at that time. Moreover, before the RF7 MK II, I had speakers from the French company JM LAB FOCAL, the Electra 1038 II ( 8.000 € ) which I then sold. The RF7 MK II had blown away the Focal .... but the RF7 MK II SE is a phenomenon and easily blows a JM LAB STELLA UTOPIA III ( 16.000 € ) away. The cross-over is the last step of a total of 8 modification phases. This was also by far the most difficult step in the implementation, because it is a modified cross-over, i.e. it was not mirrored 1:1 to the original. You are welcome to get the X-over diagram from me, I will send it to you via the internal news portal. Furthermore I think you should get in contact with @Deangregarding the X-Over modification. He will surely be able to give you good tips or even rebuild the original X-over for you. So far, so good ,I´ll remain with my best regards MicroMara

  14. Poland is our direct neighboring country at the eastern border to Germany . I never listen to Polish music. Why ? One of them stole my brand new car and crashed it while fleeing from the police, another one cheated me out of 1.600 € when I bought Jm Lab Focal speakers. So you can imagine that I have no desire at all. There are thousands and thousands of jokes in Germany about the Poles..here is one of them, he says it all. " Advertisement of the Tourist Office of Poland. Take a vacation in Poland. Your car is already there. " But thanks for the tip, you couldn't know that I have a problem with it.
  15. Those GU-50 are power pentode vacuum tube designed for up to 50-watt operation as a linear RF amplifier at frequencies up to 120 MHz. The tubes are typically used in hi-fi audio amplifiers in both single-ended and push-pull mode. GU-50 is a direct equivalent to Telefunken LS-50 Power Tube. I myself operate two tube mono amplifiers with Russian GU 29 tetrodes in push - pull mode. Soundwise a dream.
  16. So ....This colloquial term has a history Wall of Sound is the term used in music production to describe the pop music produced by music producer Phil Spector from 1962 in Hollywood's Gold Star Studios with his artists until 1966, which is characterized by a high sound density and intensive use of audio effects and was often associated with over-orchestration. Until 1961, for most music producers, the recording studios were sterile premises, with the task of equipping each individual musical instrument with a microphone separately from other instruments and feeding it to the final mix. In contrast to this, Spector's idea was to embed the listener in a wall of sound and give him a compact listening impression. The fact that a microphone could also pick up spherical sounds from other instruments was actually desired. Although this was not new in pop music, it was unknown in this concentrated form. Spector used this wall of sound only on his own record label Philles Records, but not on his numerous third-party productions for other record labels. The term Wall of Sound is closely associated with Gold Star Studios in the music industry. Spector was one of the first music producers to consider a recording studio as a musical instrument in its own right. Phil Spector practiced his production technique only at Gold Star Studios, which had a particularly effective echo chamber. Measuring only 7 m × 10.60 m and 2.10 m high, Studio A was overcrowded with studio musicians, which enhanced the compact sound image and led to a high degree of room saturation. This contributed to a strong compression. The sound patterns recorded in this way were transferred to the concrete echo chamber, their echoes recorded and mixed by overdubbing the studio recording. The listening impression of those recordings gave the music consumers a studio size that was not available in reality. Already recorded takes were doubled or even tripled by overdubbing ("double tracking"), whereby a phase shift was achieved by the reverb of the echo chamber. The intonation of the music was often characterized by overorchestration or symphonic production. Spector called it "small symphonies for young people" in a Wagnerian approach to Rock 'n' Roll. In studio technology, audio effects such as delay, flanging, chorus or reverb were used, and strong distortion of the signal from instruments was also typical. Overdubbing the same score several times by way of overdub enhanced the compact sound image. The end result was highly compressed music productions intended for transistor radios.
  17. have seen that allready on a german website ..breathtaking pics
  18. Shure M75-6 / ED / SAS > The Shuresystem par excellence ! With the original needles one of the best budget systems ever built. Not without reason all youth rooms and discos in the 60s and 70s were equipped with this system. Was not exactly cheap to buy during its lifetime. Whoever installs it today should make sure that it is a 15° system, like all Shure of that age. Runs therefore super on all changers with 24° geometry. Then it plays with much pressure and dynamics a very dry overtone bass with good resolution also in the high tone, and shows why it was standard system in discotheques for years. Possesses this fascinating Shure "Presence Drive", this fantastic midrange resolution, combined with extremely good dynamics. The ED version there is not much missing to the absolute top league. With Jico SAS needle by far the best Shure ever ! ymtc ymtc
