    The Other Discs

@JohnJ ...at the moment my psychic condition doesn´t tolerate hard rock or metal. In addition, the medication as described side effect cause constant headaches. On the other hand I still have to swallow Novalgin daily. Listening to music works fine, but only if I don´t hear loud.Hard rock and metal must be heard very loud to make it bang. So I'm floating on the softer wave of music and enjoying Gregory Porter's new album "ALL RISE". I have all his productions at home, he is the "Frank Sinatra" of the 21st century. But his repertoire is broader and ranges from Jazz > Soul > Blues > Gospel .
  3. Got my first Golf lessons today , I can tell you ..it wasn´t that easy ...

  5. Is this how thread nazis & truth deniers look like ?
  6. Since a little more than 3 weeks I have integrated the Cayin mono power amplifiers in my system, as a hybrid solution. For this purpose I disconnected the power amplifier of the Marantz PM 11-S 3 and connected the two mono power amplifiers.I was very skeptical whether the mono power amplifiers are able to replace the immensely powerful transistor power amplifier of the Marantz and thus build me a stage in depth as well as width. I was also skeptical about the sound spectrum as a whole, the resolution, they precise, the timbres, Voices, Instrumemts, etc. I have already listened to many tube amps at friends...all of them sound wonderful ..... but so far none of them got this drive, this kick, this impulse speed. The classic tube attributes of the mid/high frequency spectrum, such as excellent creamy melting warm, golden timbres, very detailed fine dynamics and velvet paw silkiness in the brilliance of the high frequency spectrum are acoustically a dream. The depth graduation of the stage is indescribably precise.I can exactly localize how deep and wide the effects are set in a mixing on a tune. Sometimes, depending on the production, sound effects are placed near to the left and right of the speakers. Reflections or phase shifts I can absolutely exclude. With digital source devices I only need a level of - 70 dB at the preamplifier to listen to a powerful, clearly defined holographic sound stage in the entire full frequency range. With analog source devices it is about 10 db ( - 60 dB ) more. My RF7 II SE harmonizes with these two mono tube amplifiers - I would never have thought it possible. They also benefit from the extremly fast and precise transistor preamplifier of the PM 11-S 3. It is a pity that you cannot experience this, it is State of the Art High End on it´s highest level . I´m infinitely happy about the decision to have bought the serial model of the RF7 MK II good 5 years ago. It has always been a great loudspeaker, but the RF7 MK II SE is a phenomenon. My queen was crowned empress . The experiment hybrid is my final solution. BTW .. I don't know if I may or should mention this here, but I had a high-ranking visitor on my profile today. If this visitor should read this report, I would like to express my respect and highest appreciation at this point. 7. You may be right, but the cover shows the DECCA logo, the record itself was printed in England , The Decca Record Company , 1968 & 1969 . Maybe it was in a wrong cover ? Anyway..it is a beautiful debut album.
  8. You can´t impress me @Full Range I got the original Decca press from 1969.....
  9. In know it´s " off topic " but it´s a quiet interesting story about " His Masters Voice " ....maye someone has a little time to read this........ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/His_Master's_Voice

  12. I´m not the one who has problems with room acoustics, quite the opposite. My room has the quality of a production studio with a reverberation time of only 0.2 seconds. We measured this after my music room was built by drywall builders and room acousticians. There are also no standing waves, Room- modes -resonances, -reflecting walls, etc. The whole thing was a miss-understanding, because you wanted to help and obviously didn't read the opening post, which I wrote myself. This can happen when somebody just wants to help in good will. But make sure that the intended help is also purposeful by dealing with the topic´s subjects of the thread and not answering spontaneously and intuitively on a post. This actually applies to all virtual interactive communication in forums. YMTC
  13. @dirtmudd & @Full Range I have something you don´t have ! If so ... why hasn't anyone played it yet ? It should be one of the first records of Genesis. 14. Since records washing machines and ultrasonic record systems are too expensive , I make by hand......... I´m a carefully driver but sometimes I discover records that are quite dirty. Since I am neither a record cleaning machine with fluids I have owned an ultrasonic record machine and have been doing it my way for years. For this I need the following tools : 1 cotton towel, 1 roll of soft absorbent paper towels,1 bottle of glass cleaner (e.g. for the windows of windows or cars with less than 5 % anionic tensides and ethyl alcohol) 1 soft sponge ( without the bob LOL ) and a microfiber tissue with nano particles. Oh ...and a delicious Latte Machiato is also part of it . First I put the record on the cotton towel and spray it with the glass cleaner, then I distribute the liquid evenly with the sponge, let it work for about 2 minutes. Once this is done, I remove the liquid with the soft paper towel and let the record dry a little. Finally I go with the micro fiber cloth circularly and with some pressure over the surface of the record. I have no comparable knowledge about the effectiveness of record cleaning with a machine, but I have found that the efficiency of this application achieves very good results. Plates that crackled before no longer crackle. Even if I remove dust with the carbon brush when I put a plate on the table, I notice that the frictional resistance on the surface has been reduced considerably. This is also beneficial for the pick-up when scanning the record.
  15. @moray james Then you´ve looked at my profile. I didn´t wanted an two-sided discussion here either. You may have felt provoked, I´m sorry . Perhaps we´ll meet again in another thread. With respectful regards
  16. Because that is how a real gentleman should behave towards a woman ! ( see may avatar ) and your comments are off topic here. btw....The only original parts of my RF7MK II is the horns, the two 10 " drivers and the cabinet. Best regards MM
  17. be careful Dave ..He´s watching you ....
  18. Welcome on board @moray james 🤠 You should have looked at my profile before giving such smart advice.
