  1. I would think so. They have attenuation for each output. I'll ask Greg to verify.
  2. That was a nice deal. I was thinking about getting them and installing the new Volti crossover, upgrade the wiring, etc. Maybe next time. Come to think about it, this crossover would have been perfect for my Chorus II pair. http://www.klipschupgrades.com/vxcrossovers.shtml

  4. Al Klappenberger ak@alkeng.com He's always been very responsive by this email.
  5. It's probably the crossover. I had a similar problem with mine. If you want/need to upgrade the tweeters, use Dave A's LMAHL V2 tweeters. They're much better than the titanium upgrade.
  6. Those would be fine. I just wanted pure copper, so I went with Furutech.
  7. This is what I'm using now for my La Scalas: https://douglasconnection.com/product/furutech-fp-209g-gold-plated-copper-small-spade/ https://www.vhaudio.com/furutech-ft-210.html
  8. Add insulation to the mid horns. Kilmat is what I used. This will take out out the midrange honk completely. The mids will also blend much better with the highs and lows. Cut some solid wood risers to fit your Chorus. A local carpenter made mine. They look just like the new risers Klipsch uses for the current Forte and Cornwall. The new style risers tightened up the bass very nicely. I was totally surprised at the sonic upgrade; I didn't even know the speakers had resonance issues. I'm pretty sure this is why Klipsch went to this new riser style. Replace the wiring between the crossovers and drivers. 10AWG pure copper wiring gets more current to the drivers, and that little electron boost gets you a nice rise in presence, volume, and detail across all frequencies. The current production La Scalas use thicker wire, so I borrowed the idea from them. If you're thinking about the tweeter, get Dave A's SMAHL tweeters for your Chorus. The titanium upgrade for these tweeters is nice, but Dave's tweeter is great.
  9. After a little digging, I'll probably just go ahead and get the VTK400. It's definitely more in line with what I'm looking for, and there are plenty of reviews for it as well.
  10. Has anyone tried these yet? http://www.klipschupgrades.com/vxcrossovers.shtml
  11. Wow! That's a live Salvadore Dali painting.
  12. The listing is gone, so apparently the pending $850 went through.

  14. I used modern risers on my Chorus II speakers. It tightened the bass up very nicely. Gave it a bit more punch and refinement. For my La Scalas, I covered the mid horn with Kilmat, which gave me more bass detail as well. More tinkering on the way, but this is what I've got so far.
  15. Yay! Glad they sold @tidmack. I'll append the title to SOLD.... but this thread will never die.
  16. The Forte's love tubes. Try it. You'll like it. Look up the Willsenton R8 reviews on Youtube.
  17. I used the Crites titanium diaphragms for my Chorus II speakers. They were nice, but if I had to do it again I would use this brand. This brand was great in my Heresy speakers; much better than a titanium upgrade. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224152702930?hash=item34308acfd2:g:6jcAAOSwBF5d5TWS
  18. Send Al an email. He's very responsive to emails. For me, I just followed the instructions/description on the ALK website, adjusted the autoformer settings, and listened. Evaluating the sonic differences only takes a few minutes or even seconds.
  19. Thanks. Let's just leave it here as is. It will help the seller. I bought a pair recently in disrepair, and I just wanted an idea of their value.
  20. I have a friend who was at the first Audio Engineering Society (AES) meeting to exhibit CDs. Everyone was impressed with the improved audio quality, until it came to Springsteen. The complaints included "This is horrible! It sounds like it was recorded in the basement with cheap microphones." The fact is, that's exactly how it was recorded.
  21. I used the ALK crossovers with my Heresy I speakers. I adjusted them a couple of times to see what I would get. I got volume differences between the drivers, which was very educational, but I finally reset everything to the original settings. The original settings are the very best settings.
