  1. I tried to love a ShopVac once. OUCH!!! That's a mistake I'll never make again. lincolns_wax The model we have is the Miele White Star. It has the adjustable speed knob, but not the electronic speed control. We bought it several years ago when expecting our first child (2 cats + a 100-year-old home = need for a good vacuum). It's worked great, absolutely no complaints. Sealed cannister, true HEPA filter, even the dust bags are well engineered and seal as you remove them from the cannister. Here's a link: White Star
  2. Miele Top-notch vacuums, as highly engineered as our speakers. They don't bother with advertising, at least not in the US, but there's plenty of info available online. German-made, very nice vaccums. Might sound silly, but hey, I like ALL of my toys to be nice. Vive la general forum. (At least you can be thankful this topic isn't about politics.)
  3. What about the fact that the new Reference models are supposed to replace the Synergy line? If that's the case, how can Circuit City only sell the Synergy line, but not the Reference. I don't see how the two statements fit.

I've been using 3.1 for months now and I want some surrounds again!!!! The house is done, I've been in it since 12-30-02, and it's wonderful. I've been waiting until the RF-7 stuff arrives before I take pics and whatnot. So hopefully soon you will see the finished result! DB - Thanks dude, my sound card is a decent one, so I don't think it will make any difference then from digital to analoog, I'll just get the 4.1 and be done. ---------------- Looking forward to your reactions and pictures. I like your idea of the RF3/RC3 system, although that probably will stand out a bit around your computer desk. I think the new Promedia system is available for purchase right now? Or did you mean you would have to wait because of the expense? http://store.klipsch.com/details.asp?ProdID=46

No specific source that I recall, but I've read this - in several places. ---------------- The issue isn't whether or not they will be released, but if he will release the originals without CGI updates. Many people would like to see the originals as they saw them years ago. As Moon notes, most would like both versions, but don't want the originals to be lost.
  6. Hey Scott, Congratulations on the RF7's, the anticipation must be killing you! How's the new house coming along, are you in yet? In the interest of full disclosure, I know nothing of computer speakers. But, that's never stopped me before. How about the new Klipsch ProMedia GMX D-5.1 that they're pushing here on the forum? It's brand new so I doubt that's the one people are having problems with it breaking.

  8. Hey Rick, Read the descriptions of these two auctions for LaScala's from different sellers. They both use the same sentence in the description, but are otherwise different. Someone copied someone else's auction at the very least. Conspiracy? Go get em. (but be polite ) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3006139918&category=14993 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3007384132&category=14993
  9. Also, one of the members here is in Greece already. I don't remember who it is though. Maybe you should post a new topic in the general forum asking about shipping to/purchasing in Greece? I'm sure he will respond. P.S. I can forgive the porridge and broken chair, but I want my speakers back. A set of your Khorns will be an acceptable replacement for my humble SF-2's.
  10. Oh my God, Jim Cornell fix your signature! It's far more offensive than any eBay scam. WHY SO BIG? KHORN, I also recommend the Canon Powershot cameras. I have the S110. I chose it because it is high quality, yet consumer friendly. Very easy to use and the included software makes it easy to get at and use the pictures after you take them. I think current models are between $200-$300. Thanks for the explanation about the fixed price auction. I noticed there were more of those lately, but didn't realize why. As a seller, I like Buy It Now, but I'm not sure about the fixed price option. Seems like it takes away from some of the psychology of the sell. As far as a Klipsch eBay category, there isn't one. Just include the word Klipsch in your auction title and that should do the trick.
  11. It's seems like that would be an issue with heat, but maybe not if it is VERY well ventilated. Mine is not very well ventilated so I turn it off whenever it isn't in use for a while. P.S. Did you decide on a computer? It's killing me that I can't buy mine until my tax return comes in. Hopefully within a couple of weeks.
  12. It's true! It's true! That SOB stole all my speakers while I was sleeping last night! He broke my chair and ate my porridge too. K-Horn, Good job finding the Klipsch Forum and this specific thread! Welcome Also, please don't use all caps in your posts or auctions. It makes it kind of hard to read. Just a friendly suggestion. Do you use Klipsch speakers yourself or just sell them every now and then?
  13. Just in case you think I'm defending this guy, let me say that the fact that he has 37 current auctions, all only with manufacturers pictures, is very shady. He MIGHT be a total rip-off. My only point was that we have no idea IF he really is legit or not, so a civil email as a first step would be an appropriate beginning in my opinion. Telling someone they must be on drugs is not civil, even if it doesn't involve bad language. Very strange that he has them only listed as Buy It Now with no lower bids. As far as the wording of "1 available" and "each", those are eBay terms. Technically he is selling "one" pair of speakers which can be bought for $3200 each. Just like when you buy a pair of shoes for $60. Everyone understands that you aren't paying $60 for each shoe. The eBay forms don't allow you to change the wording of some parts and that's why it says what it does. Still strange the way he has it (and all of his other auctions) set up.
  14. PCi is their standard (but very good) powered cylinder. The PCPlus has an even better woofer and I think some of the other components are upgraded as well.
  15. Here are the RC-7 specs, looks like they got them scrambled on the boxes somehow. The RC-7 utilizes a combination of professional grade materials and advanced horn technology for a smooth response and consistent coverage pattern. The new Reference Series 1.75" titanium dome compression driver is coupled to an 8" square Tractrix® Horn and powered by an unusually large, video-shielded 22oz. magnet.
  16. Definitely rude. Why not just email him and make whatever point you wanted to make with polite language?
  17. Here are the specs from the Klipsch site: The 97dB RC-3 II center channel loudspeaker delivers articulate dialogue and surprising dynamics through its 1" titanium diaphragm compression driver mated to a 6" square Tractrix® Horn and two 6.5" Cerametallic woofers. The RC-3 II now also features internal Monster Cable® Z-Series wiring! I guess the box was a typo. Maybe it's a collectable.

  19. It's not a tumor! Arnold in Kindergarten Cop I love that line.
  20. Funny, but a little scary. Try this one for a compliment. http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~geoffo/humour/flattery.html

  22. RJB, I'm definitely not trying to start a war of words. BUT, I have to say that you're the first person I've ever heard describe Windows as easier to use than the Mac OS. If anything, I've heard people argue the opposite. I guess it's just a case of what a person started on being the most familiar. New topic. I went to an Apple store this afternoon to play with an iMac and torture myself since I can't buy one yet. The iTunes application is VERY slick and the best audio program I have encountered. Effortless transition between MP3's and streaming content, nice visuals. All very clearly organized and easy to manage. I don't know if Apple has won awards for this program, but they sure should. I didn't have time to play with the iPhoto application, but I've heard similarly good things about it.
  23. Kain YUP!!! I met with my accountant this morning and discovered that my tax return will more than cover a new machine. I went home, logged onto the Apple site and discovered that they had announced the new machines this morning and dropped the price $200! Now I have the agony of waiting for my tax return before I can actually make the purchase. I have the order set up and saved through the online Apple Store, just one click away. I'm getting the 1GHz, 17" iMac with 80 GB harddrive, 512MB RAM, and Superdrive for $1849. With the extra RAM, tax and MS Office it'll be around $2100 total. Quite a step up from my 6-year-old PowerMac that I use now.
  24. Apple just announced some new iMacs today or yesterday as well. I'm glad I waited a couple of weeks! 17" flat panel, loaded for $1800.
