  1. Like the guy who stubbed his toe on a 5lb gold nugget at the beach!
  2. Too many of those stories to tell. I live in the foothills of the appalachins and the appalachins is where 99% of my riding takes place. Fall colors are about to appear on the winding roads. Waterfalls, perfect pavement banked curves - where do I start?
  3. Wasp in my helmet was fun. Tagged me 5 times. Pulled over and fell over in shock. Trooper saw me about 15 minutes later laying by the roadside. Asked if I needed an ambulance. He told me he was going to circle back in 15 and I wasn't gone I was going to the hospital.
  4. I've got two, I didn't see the art project part. Sorry. I probaby be looking for a few hundred.
  5. Thanks George - I was thinking 5 or 6 per inch. Glad I asked.
  6. How about a bird hitting your helmet at 130mph. Bird didn't feel any pain but it sure rang my bell.
  7. black 3, red -1. I'll try to bump it upward and see what happens.
  8. Have a go fast bike and a BMW sitting in the basement and haven't been able to ride. Weather is perfect but the work on my speakers and painting has gotten in my way. Today my wife asked me- if you had to choose between the motorcycles and the stereo system what would go? I was thinking silently, my wife.
  9. I have a 300B mono blocks that I have sitting on my bench. Toridal coils are enclosed in a separate chassis and feed A/C power to the mono blocks. I've read that the a/c wiring should be twisted and cross any signal wires at a 90 degree angle. I would like to know what the rule is for number of twists in the a/c wiring. Can anyone enlighten me? Thank-you, Rick
  10. Hello - I am looking for suggestions on setting the ES networks for best sound. My RME dac has a built in 5 band graphic equalizer which I set to flat, and my Mac 352 has 5 eq adjustments which I set to the default detent. My mid range seems a bit harsh. I have Volti's wood horn and BMS 4592 drivers. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed in tuning. Such as what is the best recording to use as a test track? Rick
  11. Solid State Switch --I've used these for many projects. Can be enclose in small box with toggle or you can get fancy and create a remote control circuit with arduino. Is your electric running through conduit? if so, it provides a ground. These switches are very reliable. The DC side is couple to the AC side via led. When DC is present the LED lights, a sensor on the A/C side detect the light and closes the switch. If interested I can go into much more detail on how to use this device. Remote or touch on touch off or simple rocker switch.

  13. I'll put some pics up. you can call me weird, just don't call me late for dinner.
  14. I finished modding my '87 Khorns this week. Very pleased with the sound of the new components. Volti horns, Al's Extreme Slope Crossovers, BMS 4592 mid drivers, DE-120 tweeter drivers and DaveA's tweeter lenses. I have a pair of Crites crossovers in the Garage sale section that I bought earlier this year should you want to go that route. You would need to pair with DE120 tweeter drivers.
  15. The photos. I am posting photos of one unit. The other unit is in identical shape. The grayish tint on the fabric is dust, enhanced by sunlight. I will clean before sale.
  16. Finished modifications to my 1987 Khorns and have had inquiries about purchasing. I don't really know what a fair price is. I want to sell for a fair price. Can anyone tell me what they are worth. Condition is excellent
  17. Today I finished my Klipschorns using ALK's Extreme Slope crossovers, DE-120 Tweeter drivers with Dave's smahl lenses, BMS 4592 Mid drivers, Greg Robert's (Volti) squawker horns and frames. The speakers sound great! Thanks to all that helped. Rick

I just finished modifying my Khorns and have some spare parts laying around. These are in good condition. 1987 vintage. K77s not included. Make an offer as I don't know what the value of these are. Grill fabric is black. Grayish tint is dust enhanced by sunlight. I'll clean to reduce shipping weight. (Original crossovers available also. AK3s, SOLD)
  19. Went up to ALK ES, sound good but I don't have them dialed in yet.
