  1. Next month I will be moving into my new house. The room will be 15X20, 9ft ceilings, opening to kitchen/dining area that is 20X20. My system will be in a space that has about 7 feet between my Mains - LSII's. So the big question, of course I already know the answer get another LSII for the Center and since KLIPSCH is not introducing a modern solution for a heritage center I need to ask it again. Option 1 LSII Center Hersey III Surrounds Option 2 CWIII Center CWIII Surrounds Option 3 LSII Center CWIII Surrounds Option 4 Hersey III Center Hersey III Surrounds Would like to hear comments of heritage owners........THXS
  2. LOOK! BLACK HELICOPTERS! Really - a bit overly paranoid, no? "I work for a [un-named business], and my wife is a [position] for [government office]" (bracketed for garymd's privacy) isn't going to kick open any doors man - even if someone also figured out what state they might be in - one of a thousand like [un-named businesses], and try as you might - you most likely will never manage to get a [position] on the phone from the [government office] and confirm with them (or anyone) that their husband, "Gary" works for a [un-named business]. Do you tin-foil your windows too? Really - being careful is one thing - but you have more chances of hitting the lottery AND being struck by a bus while crossing the street on the same day than you do assembling anything remotely useful from that information. Until his post, I thought he was a doctor. They're after me, mom - they're after me!!! srobak, So I take it that you have never had your identity stolen? Probably not but you can run your mouth pretty good. You seem to do in several of the threads......Yada, Yada, Yada!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure you will have another wise crack for us all. When someone offers advice you can take it or leave it. Nothing more, nothing less!!! Gary, I am glad to hear that you resolved your issues with the credit bureua's. Mine took about six months to resolve. The guy kept opening new accounts with my identity unitl I put a lock on my credit. No problems since!!!!!
  3. TommyK I have been checking out the Sonos as well.. Are you using the ZP80?? looks promising!!!! Have you tried a high outboard DAC? What format are you using for your music files? Thanks!
  4. I like my C2200, the C2300 will be good as well.
  5. For those of you looking for a good cd ripper for FLAC. Try http://www.mediamonkey.com/
  6. Well the HP Digital music receiver I was looking at doesn't support any good formats. Oh Well!!!!!!
  7. Remember that this is an open forum. We don't need to know where you and your wife work. Social engineering is out there folks. Be Careful!!!!!!
  8. VH in Baltimore on May 15th. I will be there!!!!!!!!!
  9. And I just bought a C2200 tube preamp which I really like.
  10. THanks for the comments jc. I was actually looking at that same pc case if I decided to build a HTPC for right next to my system. Why the USB port vs optical? I also like the mini-mac option. Also waiting to see if HP is coming out with there new system. DAC's are another problem - I really want the sound of my music server/computer to be at least better then the Cambridge 840 and approaching a higher end player. I am enjoying my new McIntosh and LSII's. The only old piece in my 2CH rig is the CD player which is 5-6 years old. I should be movng into my new house in June so no pilgrimage for me this year.
  11. Soon we will be hearing 6 and the 7 dollars a gallon. BTW rice has gone up 122% in the last year, corn 66% while gas is only up 41%.
  12. I owned a RMB-1095 with my RF-7 lineup. Both sold now but I wish that I would have went with the B & K. Good luck in your search......
  13. Well the HP media server I was reading about which I can no longer locate uses Linux supposed to be released this month. Also i believe the squeezebox software is linux compatable. Right now I have a Comcast HD DVR in my rack and that think is obnoxiously loud so I want to make sure my music server is either dead silent or can be located in another room. My whole house is wired with ethernet cables, no need for wireless except to control the remote if the music server is in a different location. I guess I want the best of both worlds. That is a music server and DAC that is as good as a player like the Cambridge 840/ McIntosh MCD301.
  14. Like I told you when you bought them from me a receiver works but a seperate power amp will help significantly with your RF-7's. Especially with the highs and the lows. Get a 5CH HT amp like a B & K 207, Sunfire, or Rotel RMB-1095. Rob
  15. Go freight, palletize them. FEDEX deliveried my LSII's last month.
  16. Sounds like you need to get busy ripping your CD's. I aleady use and like itunes but I have heard that FLAC or WAV are better then Apple Lossless. As for HP, I would have agreed with you about their printers being top notch and only their printers but I have a couple friends who have media pc's that have changed my mind. BTW I build my own computers, been building them since 1989. I was think of building a system like this: Music/Document Server in my office. (located on the 1st level) Send music to receiving device such as the squezebox via wired ethernet. (located on the 2nd level) Squezebox to DAC via toslink. DAC to my McIntosh C2200. As for the particulars of each component that will come in time. I want to keep my listening room as quite as possible. I don't want any fan noise what so ever. How loud is the mac-mini?
  17. I read in one of the audiophile magazines that HP will be coming out with something similar to a squeezebox. I am not in a rush to get this finished. Just hoping that I can find the right system. I need to read up on the mini-mac.
  18. Well I went out this weekend and did a A/B comparision of the Reda Apollo and the Cambridge Azur 840. I decided that the 840 was a better choice. They both sounded outstanding but I am not sure I have the right rack to support a top loading player such as the apollo. Now the big question. Music Servers? What are your impressions of digital music? Squeezebox or others? Digital formats, FLAC Apple Lossless etc.? Sound quality? Just wondering if a Music Server with a squeezebox and a good DAC would be better served these days. Read a couple threads here on Klipsch and some other sites as well. THXS
