  1. You should go out and listen to a big powerhouse horn speaker system , like Lascala , and then report back . The speakers that you are referring too , are closer to IPhone speakers than the big Klipsch speakers .BTW I was only joking about the B652 , you don’t really admire them do you?no offense 🤓BTW nothing wrong with you being a troll , just behave yourself.
  2. The bass cuts out a little early, but what speaker has better sounding bass above its -4 db point ? Lascala bass sounds awfully good to me , right on up to the midrange 🤓
  3. I could care less which ones you own , but none of them are even remotely comparable to Lascala . Lascala owners expect their speakers to reproduce a big, true to life ,live performance, right in their own living room . And Lascala does this with great ease and starling clarity ( realism) . Others have different tastes entirely .🤓
  4. You’re judging the quality of a speaker entirely on how low it plays with flat frequency response. And you make a ridiculous comparison of Klipsch Lascala to a set of 5 inch speakers with a sensitivity rating of 83 db . You should have saved yourself some money and bought the Dayton B652’s for 49$ , they have a 6 inch woofer .🤓
  5. It’s difficult to accurately compare the sound quality of amplifiers /integrated amplifiers/ receivers , and darned near impossible to find any meaningful consensus on amp sound quality , but I do remember that my old 2270 Marantz sounded fantastic . And what I know for sure , is that the old Marantz units look outstanding , have a very high quality feel , and jewel like finish. I wish I still had my old Marantz 2270 , I’d play your 2325 with no reservations, and be proud to do so , they made some damn good stuff back then , and were more robust than most of the electronics of today . If it sounds good to you, then don’t let anyone convince you otherwise , because they’ll likely be full of b.s. That old Marantz is a quality unit that has stood the test of time . You would be lucky to find something that plays better than your fine old Marantz 🤓
  6. Looks like a fun project, if there’s anyway you can swing it , I would absolutely go with front projection. I’ve remodeled and changed my theater several times through the years, but the biggest improvement that I ever made was installing a projector, the satisfaction level of watching a movie went up exponentially after making this move . Good luck on your project 🤓
  7. As to the benefits of running these fully horn loaded speakers full range, we should also consider the fact that running full range can increase the number of point sources that contribute to low frequency bass output , and the beneficial effects that this has on balancing room modes . In the case of Klipschorn , we have a very good contribution to 35hz , so if we have one subwoofer source and two Khorns running full range , and a bit of overlap, we have a three point source down to 35 hz . The result of this is better sounding and more natural bass coverage in your listening room, not to mention more headroom. Below 35hz when the subwoofer substantially takes over, the bass will act more as a single point source from the subwoofer, but it will be working within a very small frequency range , and can be positioned to satisfy the listening position.
  8. Sounds like you’ve got a sweet setup, and BTW , good advice .
  9. This setup keeps up with a Lascala / Khorn home theater. But the simple and direct solution is to use horn subwoofers , this will ensure that the superior bass impact that the Klipsch provides , is preserved. Having said this , two horn subs would likely be required . Listening at high SPL while enjoying great special effects requires relatively high subwoofer output to fully complement the Lascala / Khorn . I believe that different solutions can certainly work in solving this problem , but quality and high output are paramount 🤓
  10. Also , with your less than optimal subwoofer capacity , run your speaker’s full range , let them play! (Maybe you are) Augment the bass with your subs , don’t high pass your big Klipsch . This way , you will lose nothing that the big Klipsch can provide , and you will gain everything that your subs can contribute. With this setup, when your subs exhaust their capacity , it will be far less noticeable , and with really good subwoofers maybe not noticeable at all, especially with music.🤓
  11. For max output , place both subwoofers in the same corner, this will give you a coupling effect as well as the advantage of the 1/8th space (corner loading ). As the great audio writer and subwoofer guru Tom Nousain once said , (sorry I don’t have the exact quote) Two subwoofers in the same corner will outperform 4 in the round . This is valuable information when trying to keep up with Lascala output.

    What I Got Today!

I put this together a few months ago, it’s almost as fun to ride as the B-King , but don’t tell anyone 🤓

    What I Got Today!

Here’s my B- King with the 185hp Hayabusa Engine , best bike I’ve ever had.
  14. Klipschorn and Lascala are unique speakers, they will reach out and touch you with a powerful clean impactful wave of sound, they provide impressive qualities that other speakers simply can’t compete with. The effect is a liveliness and energy presence that is different from what other speakers can offer . Lascala / Klipschorn provide a truly distinctive experience in home sound reproduction, I believe these speakers to be in a class of their own , they play big and powerful, and reserve the ability to shake your core and emotions with tremendous impact and clarity, there’s not much out there that can stand toe to toe with these awesome speakers. They belong together as a formidable front stage trio. 🤓
  15. It’s hard to win friends , influence people and make the neighbors jealous with an ugly listening room . A good looking listening room will sound magnitudes better to just about anyone listening . Nice attractive rooms are like beautiful women , they automatically receive a ton of positive attention ( even on the rare occasion that it isn’t warranted) . FUGLY rooms get no respect .🤓
  16. I’ve tried various forms for arthritis , but no benefit for me , the neighbor swears that it makes his Bose speakers sound better . He tells me that they sound as good as my Klipschorns , is this why people smoke pot ?🤓
  17. This is really good advice, Klipschorn with Lascala center is a formidable combination ,everything else is a compromise 🤓
  18. This dimension may be important in regards to the speaker extending past your door opening . Otherwise your corners seem acceptable to me( two good corners and two pretty good ones especially with a closed door)
  19. How far from the corner is your door opening and window?
  20. Wow , really nice condition! beautiful wood grain . Seems like a lot of these vintage Khorns get beat up pretty bad , it’s terrible . 🤓
  21. I’d stay away from a set of Klipschorns that have been tampered with , as 001 said “ who knows, what they will sound like “ Its a crap shoot, it’s not easy to hotdog in an improvement to a speaker that is arguably one of the finest ever built and designed by PWK . No offense intended , I’d just look for a nice set of originals. Good luck 🤓
  22. You’re fine running a parallel high level signal to your sub amps . Your speakers will run full range and that’s a good thing with Lascala, its usually the best way to run them in my opinion. You can run your subs in stereo or mono , see if you prefer one over the other. As Shakeydeal said “Just let them roll off on their own . That’s good advice.
