"Dad, you gotta sell those things. It's time to, at least, LOOK like it's 20005." on Audiogon. Are you related to an uncle like this? EDIT: okay okay. so I type like a welder. Geeehs!

Is this guy selling a pair of OLD utility Khorns?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5763465909&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting? Yea, I look at lots of stuff on eBay. It's cheaper that way. Then I saw these and maybe, just maybe, he included these in the photo of the Quads as a teaser. I think there might be two. -
Take another look, Roundeye. They are not embedded. Look through the ports and you will see the cabinet door. Yup, they done gone and sawed them suckers rip-style and hung them up to dry. That must be some kinda bass with that extended cabinet!

Feelin the same way about the valencia 846 that i have. Great for HT. Room seems too small for big ol' horns for 2C, though. Getting ready to rotate the Allisons back in. Or maybe the JBLs. I tried to make them at home but I just don't have the space they need to breathe. They are Voice of the Theater, after all. And my room ain't no theater. I burned some time at B&N recently and gandered at all the latest hi-fi-HT pubs. Editing is constantly slanted toward the bigger, flatter screens and the smaller speakers. I kinda feel like my Altecs are Humm-Vs in a Mini Cooper world.

Some progress on the Bose front...

CEDIA to Bose: "You're fired." -
bjork bjork bjork bjork in your headphones. You won't want to close your eyes. I got the Telegram cd on a recommendation from my music club based on other things I was buying. I ended my membership on that note. I like artmusic as much as anyone, but when music is just plain creepy, I look for the exit. EDIT: I just remembered that she was a member of the Sugarcubes. In my day, "sugarcubes" were LSD vehicles. That, along with microdot, blotter, etc. - perhaps the inspiration for the band name?

Should be a fun close. $330 one hour left.

Max, just curious about your avatar. WHAT were you ogling at?

Gary and his wife are terrific and generous folks. Gary's system offers the best of Forum values: FREE K-horns to a good home, NOSvalved tube amps, Blueberry special pre and Gary's own research led him to his present TT for a system that is one of the best in town. When that basement gets opened up, those K-horns will finally have some room to breathe.

Two Khorns, two Cornwalls, one full vehicle!

Those speakers will be worth 2X in ten years easy. Vintage/Retro is here to stay. (Hey, that's catchy!) -
This may be a desireable amp but leave it on for 48 hours and sleep soundly? Did the seller go to work those days? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50593&item=5760794640&rd=1 Am I missing something? (I thought of this when I read PR's HeadPre (nice name, huh?) photos but did not want to sully his thread with photos of this rust bucket. Nice of me, no?)

It's only rated @ 65wpc. That is a hefty input/output ratio. Is that due, in part, to or related to the 220v Euro standard? Maybe Max might be able to shed some light on this.
-
I brought home a nice receiver recently. But it uses 220 or 240 volts only. It also says "450 WATTS" on the back. Now I know that is not wpc so don't think I am THAT stupid. Step-up convertiers are cheap and I want to test this thing out. Will I need anything more than a 110v to 220v 50 watt converter? It's a Pioneer SX-850 European version with a detachable power cord. It may occupy my office soon.

My PS Audio IV has a passive mode option. Are you saying that it is not a really a passive feature? I had this upgraded at the factory several years ago and it is one of my favorite pieces.

duplicate for some reason. Thanks, MSFT.

Ain't it great? Give your kids something that you did not have at their age and tell them so. They will remember it forever.

Teenage daughter has teenage friend over. Friend loads up ebaum on Maternal Parental Unit's (MPU) computer. MPU's computer suddenly demonstrates signs of lethargy, then a catatonic state of noncompliance. Total reload of windows and 6 hours of massage therapy was the only remedy. Not a good day around here.

With a thread title like "Hi guys," I predict this will be the longest running thread in Forum history. What a genius!
