  2. This stuff is also available at almost any auto parts house.

  4. Nice job! ... you are obviously better with wood than I am. What is the grill cloth you used? It almost looks like original heritage cloth.

Granted, there probably isn't tons of lower-to-mid bass in the center and surrounds, but any content that does fall below the response of the speaker is lost, not sent to the sub, when you have the channel set to large. dd ---------------- I have a big question on this. When I set my Onkyo up, I set it for sub on, all speakers to large. But if I unplug the subs, the main speakers still have no bass. I can only get full range from the mains if I set the sub to off. After reading your post above, I checked the Dolby site, & found this: "Dolby Digital programs can deliver surround sound with five discrete full-range channelsleft, center, right, left surround, and right surroundplus a sixth channel for those powerful low-frequency effects (LFE) that are felt more than heard in movie theaters." I got this here: http://www.dolby.com/tech/co.br.0103.DDFAQ.html#q4 I questioned Onkyo tech suppt about this, & their reply was that it was normal. Who do I believe?
  6. I am not sure about the amp, but the DirecTV receiver he has is outdated & 3x the price of new. He may be selling it for the card, but that wont work either. HU cards are no longer good.
  7. Much better! So .. What kind of camera is it?
  8. You can call Klipsch direct, or here.... & I believe he is also a forum member. " >Ebay

  10. It depends on where you started from. are you using IE or netscape? Look at the address bar... Does it say http://forums.klipsch.com ... etc or http://klipsch.com ... etc If its the last one, change it to the first one, & create a bookmark.
  11. Wow... The tank is a 55 gallon.... with a sub right in front of it. The fish are used to it I guess.. they have never minded it. I have never seen more than a ripple in the water during loud explosions etc, & the subs are off for music. BTW... It's not really as green as it looks.... Its just a green silk background on the back of it that looks bad in the camera.

  13. Del: What Adcom amps are you running? I have been curious to find out how they sound compared to tubes.

  15. My Belle's were floor demos from (I hate to admit this) Good Guys in 84'. They had a few scratches on them, but I didn't mind, as the price was right. As you already know, check ALL of the drivers, & make sure you can return them if they are not right. When you get it home, replace one of yours with it & compare the sound. If you are lucky, it will be identical!
  16. I am home now, & have uploaded a pic of them after refinishing.
  17. I can not comment on the outlaw amp, however I can tell you that the Onkyo/Inegra will work very well for music as a pre-amp in direct mode. I have an Onkyo TX DS-777, but I am using an external amp for the main speakers. I have compared mine by using the varible outputs of my cd player straight to the amp, compared to using the direct mode on the Onkyo, & could not tell the difference. As for theater mode, I am very happy with the sound of the unit, but have never compared it to any other surround processors.
  18. I love the rear ceiling mount!... I remember looking at your center channel & wondering if I could do the same... I am really bad with woodworking. I am amazed it came out as good as it did. I had someone else cut the main board for me, but I had to do the driver cutouts... that's why they are so crooked. I have ordered the grill cloth & will be covering it soon.

I have been asked this before. They are just empty boxes, but they are very stable the way they are. Since the pic, they have been refinished to match the rest of the wood in the room, such as the overhead lights. If you look at this pic (during the re-decorate), you can see how far the rears are from the back wall. The room is very long. The second to the last pic on my web site shows where I placed them behind the sofa.
  20. ---------------- On 4/28/2003 11:50:22 AM bassetized wrote: how does it match up? also, how far apart are your fronts and center? ---------------- It matches perfectly. I don't know how to do the math, so I just had to build a few cases until I got it right. For the one in the pic, I got some dimensions from a speaker cabinet builder. If you click on my home theater link, you can see the whole room. I am not sure of the room size, but the TV is 61", so you can get an idea from there. There is also a few pics of the center in pieces (with the subs in a car box) before I built a case.
  21. There are also many people here (including myself) that are making custom Heresy centers. Its a good way to get a timber match without looking awkward. Edit: I put my center pic here to make it easy
  22. Is it a safe guess that this is for sale? I might be interested in one to drive the sub for my smaller system in the family room. How many do you have?
  23. Just what I wanted to hear.... The Aragon against tubes. I will be awaiting your results. Anyone out there have an Adcom amp they can put against tubes?

I never thought of that for DTV. Here in the Bay Area, we might loose the signal for 1-3 seconds during our worst storms. However our cable goes out constantly. I had Cable tv & internet for many years, & it was out 2-3 times a week, usually had an average picture, & the billing company was a joke. They screwed up my account constantly. Also, they were bought out every 6 months by another company. I no longer have any cable connection. My internet is with DSLExtreme, & love it.
  25. I will be waiting! What other equipment will you be running to drive it? Edit: I should also ask what you have to compare it to?
