  3. I will scan the info when I get off work tonight, thanks again
  4. Ok, thank you...this makes complete sense. It appears these drivers a pretty mainstream run-of-the mill. What, if any, mass market subwoofers drivers do you think they are most likely related to? Old ksw-12, sw-12, something like that? Thanks again, this info really helps.
  5. Wuzzer, Thanks for the info. So since the woofer is 8ohm single voice coil, could he use a Bash 4 ohm plate amp with the single driver or would he need to run two woofers wired in parallel? This has always been a confusing topic to me. Thanks
  6. Hi, A friend of mine has a pair of RB-81s in his basement 2-channel music system and wants to add a sub for 2.1. He has 2 RFP 1812 Rockford Fosgate drivers he's had in his closet for many years and asked if he could somehow incorporate them in this 2.1 system (DIY). He is using a Sub 12 in his upstairs home theater but wants something for downstairs. So, I told him I'd ask around as I am not experienced in this area. Any suggestions are very welcome, THANKS! -Pat
  7. Benchmark review from one of the more respected online magazines out there. Must read the entire review to see not only measurements, but the reviewers own personal opinion. If you get a chance take a look at the Palladium review they did as well. http://www.sdinfo.com/volume_13_4/klipsch-rt-12d-subwoofer-december-2006-part-1.html
  8. Bitte ein bit! Ok to make this a 2-channel thread....Eihnfahrt and Ausfahrt are the "two channel" of the autobahn.
  9. Ha! So true, there's only "one-way" to interperet that! And "Ausfahrt" is the largest city in Germany, you can get there from any where on the autobahn, as long as its an exit...
  11. Did a Klipsch search off of Cincinnati Craigslist...the first this that pops up is a feature on how bad Bose speakers are. They Keep taking the messaage down, but someone keeps posting it back up...interesting to see how this turns out.
  12. I don't know if the Seller's out of town or what, but I've got a warm 150 to throw down....excited
  13. Hopefully he hasn't sold it yet, I called back again...just waiting now. It will be connected to a Denon AVR-2805 for the time being. My DVD player doesn't seem to do CDs very well.
  14. attempted to contact the seller but had to leave a message. I've used both the digital and analog out of my DVD player (995 sony 400disc DVD/CD/SACD player) and found the digital out to sound better. This unit replaced my old pioneer single DVD disc player I had for years. There was a time when I didn't belive it mattered what was used to play CDs; that was until I picked up a sony 9100es player months ago, which I had hooked up via analog for only about 20 minutes before selling it (another story). That 9100es was something else..EVERYTHING opened up. After the 9100es, I wanted the most out of redbook CDs and the Rotel looked like a good price. Any thoughts on the Rotel on relation to the Sony ES?
  15. Found a local seller selling his Rotel RCD-1072 for $150.00...good buy? I still don't think I'm getting the most out of my CDs with my DVD Palyer.
  16. Someone was selling a rc-25 for $100.00 in the garage section. The RB-25 have been sold, don'tknow about the RC.
  17. Wonder what he considers strong..maybe strong in relation to Kosovo?
  18. I'll be there! A date and time is all I need..and as a show of appreciation I will bring a certified Walmart coby subwoofer for the flight of the phoenix - Move over Mini beasts, we've got somethin' mainstream! [<)]
  19. Tell me about it! I was in the AF from 1996-2006 and you couldn't be more right; bose everywhere. The only exception was oversees where atleast they had a larger selection - Jamo, mirage, Kef and B&W at the spotlight AV store on base. The BX used to carry Klipsch, but they stopped in the late 90s. Once I wanted to get a part time job at the BX just to see if I could introduce people into the concept of "getting the most out of your money".
  20. Many individuals using a HT receiver for movies and multi channel music (many even for 2 channel) utilize a powered subwoofer, even if their speakers have three eight, two ten, one 15, or two 12 inch woofers.
  21. I always thought the KSB 3.1 were a mighty fine pair of bookshelves, especially for the price they can be had for now--the silk dome compression driver on the 3.1 sounds more refined than the bigger brother KSF-10.5 or KSF-8.5. If you did not mind keeping your current set of bookshelves, you could purchase a KSC-C1 center channel and another pair of KSB-3.1 for surrounds (ksb-s1 do not utilize HF drivers) or two more pairs of 3.1 speakers for a 6.1 system; you can find them for much less than $150 per pair--usually around $100 pr. Adding a sub will allow the speakers to focus more of their energy on the frequencies above the crossover point What receiver do you have driving them?
  22. If you already have RF-7, RS-7 would "integrate" better IMO.
  23. I once matched Synergy Premiere rears with Legend fronts--not a completely seamless transition from front to rear. I am very impressed with what Klipsch has done with the RS-62. You may be hard pressed to tell the difference between them and KS-525-THX; and the difference probably goes in favor of the RS-62--they are that good.
  24. Funny you mention Emotiva, I just finished reading a review of the XPA-2 (same online mag). I can't believe how much prices have come down on amplification. Nice design on the MPS -2; either option would be a drastic improvent and really show the capabilities of your speakers
  25. Hey, nice set-up! I have a buddy that used to use WDST surrounds with his SB-2 (synergy series prior to the current) based home theater. He ended up returning them and going with quintets instead. Your right, quintets are much larger in person. I would say the most "drastic" experience with something being larger in real life than in pics was at this years Klipsch Pilgrimmage; They had a pair of 60th Anniversary Klipschorns on display, I had no idea they were that large in real life...unbelievable. I couldn't imagine the size of their pro cinema gear!
