Thanks, Steve. ---------------- Hi Steve: That's a great question. I'll start: I'm dodge73challenger so if I come in with a bid for a needed item send me an email or PM and I'll back off. dodger Win EDIT: Welcome to the Forum. Sorry if my post chastised. I agree STRONGLY with T2K if someone buys low here and sells high elasewhere. I have not seen it, but I have not looked for, that deserves chastisement. END EDIT

And it's going to be Friday Night tonight. Boredom is when they discuss the technical merits of GranFather Clock from Captain Kangaroo.

  6. Welcome to Posting on the Forum. If you have been lurking, it doesn't take long to see that items are offered here first. The other point that you'll catch on to is that we dont all know each other's eBay names. So it may well then be possible that we are bidding against another Member. Not right. In my family we had a stranger price, a Family price, Friend and a Friend of theirs prices. Family was lowest. Most here kind of follow that and offer items at the Family price.
  7. I give you much credit for your post. It's nice to read the positives and thank yous. Rare these days. My commendations to you both.
  8. Putting humour aside, and with no offense to Ben, if it IS a business issue, that should be between Craig and thebes. No damage to either's reputation or word. Also no speculation as to whether Craig may be accused of something - actual or perceived. It's almost impossible to prove a negative accusation. Reputations take a long time to build, not much time to have questioned.
  9. If support is asked for - tell them you want a DNA test.
  10. Craig: Nice to see an additional discount to the already decent prices you give to Forum Members. A tip of the hat to you.
  11. Dee: If you do get them and re-veneer the tops, Tom Preston's recommendation of Watco Danish oil finish is an excellent choice. It comes in colours, and is almost bullett proof. I used it on guitars which people naturally sweat on. This in the late '60s, early '70s plus some furniture of my own. Colour and finish all in one. I recommended it to Silversport, give him a contact for his opinion. Good Luck, Win
  12. Tony: Could I ask you to contact dragonfyr abouts some sheets of sorbethane? My Thanks, Win dodger
  13. The black mark may go through the veneer on the left one. That would be a bleaching and sanding plus edging. Could be worth it. I salvaged a 1938 RCA Floor Radio that had been standing in 18" of water, no grille clothe and pegboard nailed to the front. You never know it now.
  14. 1) Ups Delivery: Where would you like your B@se? 2) I never knew that you were a drunk until one dy I saw you sober... Lady - before you I didn't drink (or guy equal opportunity) 3) You'd be a perfect candidate for platic surgery. I already plastic surgery a year ago.
  15. ---------------- On 5/3/2005 11:01:57 AM Amy Unger wrote: I'm not sure how to take this initial post, or subsequent conspiracy theories. I think we should take it at face value and infer no additional meaning, and leave it at that. The best paragraph reads, "I think Mark Twain said something like, 'Better to remain silent and risk being thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.' Too many here have removed all doubt about their incivility and lack of common courtesy, through their foolish behavior." Let's stop there, shall we? ---------------- Having given great thought to Amy's Post, I have decided that it is time Courtesy and fun with no personal attacks, veiled or stated, no baiting, no personal comments unless asked for specifically should be the point. For others interested only in attacks or baiting, there's probably a WWF site where that would fit. I will go with the tone set by Marvel, seconded by by Amy. It's time to lose the cynicism.
  16. The BLO may remove some of the lacquer. Retouching with a spray lacqer may be successful. The color dif may be the stain or how long it was left on. I have oiled that are darker than my lacquered Cornwall IIs.
  17. In reading replies, I read that this post should not be taken at face value. It must be dissected for veiled comments about those that are the objects of the writers irritation. A re-reading could find that, if looked for. But then a simple definition can be found just by the words. It depends on your frame of mind. If this post is just veiled comments, I feel sorry that a number have been taken in. That would be a sorry use of the Forum and of this post. No humour could or would be found. That would not be thin skinned, that would be by implication of other posts. Some would rather NOT to have to examine every seemingly positive post for comments. If that is the case, IMHO, the Poster is in the same league as those being complained about. Also then one may as well add me to the comments. Win
  18. Thanks, Setl. If you want to do a food trade let me know. For 99 % this was one of the most fun, ability to learn different things and respectful showings. Maybe some of it was the food talk. The rest much more relaxed, but good moods. I thank all involved in that part. It shows that none of us have grown up yet, that's a good thing. Or as my friend Silversport and I have discussed, a showing of Louie Armstrong's What a Wonderful World. Oh Yeah.
  19. As the others, I compliment your post. It is not just a model for behaviour on the Forum but in much of life itself. I try not to take sides. I do rant. As you, if out of line, please call me to task. This is about the only true open Forum provided by a Speaker Manufacturer. I come to learn, to exchange ideas with like minded people. If I can pass information on, fine. If I may ask a favor, I do not know how to adjust / change the size of the text as you do. At your comfort would you send instructions to me? I have only checked out a couple of other Forums and have not seen them to be in real time. You gave much thought to your writing. I hope that all please take it to heart. Thank You, Win
  20. Thanks for the recommendations. I know that I will be out that way. Enjoy your night. Win
  21. Setl: What are the possibilities for BBQ?
  22. I've never been one for cold pizza. Setl email if interested. I like the new commercial Trump is doing about the Cheesebururger pizza. Doesn't interest me. He seems to be doing well on Television - not that he needs the money.
