  1. Yep, get that 1st flaw done and over with. There have been some smokin deals posted here from Tampa. Not sure what's going on down there, but if they were within 2 hours, I may be in divorce court.
  2. Good question. Carelessness? Moving issues? Pets? CATS appear to be the biggest culprit to speaker damage from what I have seen on the forum, but chit happens. As meticulous as I am, I heard something vibrating on my left RF-7 a few months back and freaked out and thought, chit I blew a woofer. Before taking the grill off I shined a flashlight down between the speaker and grill and saw something down there. Removed the grill and a very small picture vibrated down there from on top of the speaker. Put a tiny mark on the bottom woofer, and I somewhat flipped out. Got over it really fast, because it was so small, and insignificant. Nonetheless, I did inquire about the cost of a replacement woofer with Klipsch and that's how I found out the price above, but not worth it. The more obviously wrinkled woofers are a mystery to me as to how they get that way. A rigorous shake or drop during moving?
  3. I think you may need a lot more than 4 beers before "that girl gets prettier at closing time" ...like maybe a keg or two.
  4. Yes, despite that crinkled woofer, that is an excellent price. May not impact sound at all, but if you can't live with a crinkled woofer, they are available through Klipsch for $169 + S&H (per last fall), so their offer to replace at $125 is a good deal.
  5. Happy Birthday Tarheel! Toasting a beer at the moment, but a vodka & tonic or vodka on the rocks in a few. Have a great birthday weekend! and for sure in the morning! Is there a mistake on your profile? I thought it was 63.
  6. Can't blame him, BUT Tarheel when you come up for air look, your about to come up on page 300 of this thread. Boomshockalocka, boomshockalocka, habadahabadahabada, shwingallingmydingaling! Where's the sweaty worn out smiley face? Keep the beans in a glass jar with a cork top. They don't have time to go bad. We've been knocking back 12 cups a day between wifey and me. My biggest challenge is getting and keeping the coffee HOT! Despite 3 temp settings, this pot doesn't brew it hot enough. Zapping it in the microwave way too much.
  7. Congrats! That's a great price for those. Gorm, if you were closer, I could be in for some trouble. A month or so ago I was mapquesting the distance when you had the RF-7' s up for sale. I bought my RS-7's in 2003 and they too have no shrinkage. Wish I could say the same for myself. I would still love to have them done with cherry tops and bottoms to match everything else.
  8. Skeeters, really? Thanks for reminding us. I would rather have the cold and snow. I hate those Bastids! You definitely gave me more tolerance and patience to cope with winter.
  9. Wow you have spring weather, hard to imagination with all the wind and snow. 12 deg with 30mph gusts. Reminds me of last year. Our cars have been sportin' the dual boners a lot this winter too. Are they buried yet? Hope you are coping alright. At least it is light snow? Or no, was that a lie.
  10. Have a great Birthday and a great Birthday week and up-coming weekend.
  11. Yes, this would be for us, we are right in the middle of that thing !! No work for us tomorrow , boss hunkering down himself for the day... I will be up, getting some coffee photos for you all, and of course, some live photos of the storm as I see it in my front and back yards ((0: IPad will be fully charged just in case of power outage... I am on lunch right now, have an urge to walk to D&Ds for a dark roast and a sweet snack...... Don't hate me ;0) ....gw Where is the "Don't Like" button. I don't like the looks of that thing. Lucky we didn't get it...just some light flurries. They just said the Empire State Building may be buried on the radio! Better make sure your wine supply is good Gary.
  12. No need to be left out. Just get yourself a few of these. They come in many flavors (colors)!

    Sansui Repair

Not local for you, but I had my 9090DB fully restored in October, 2013 from a company in Rockford, IL. Cost about $400. I was able to bring it there personally, and pick it up. They were very thorough and gave me all the parts back they replaced. If you want their info, just let me know and I will provide.
  14. I hope that your circumstances improve. Those are the nicest Belle's that I have seen. They won't last long. GLWTS I agree with all above...absolutely gorgeous! Sorry you have to part with those. Good things will come around in the future. Congrats Cantilope!
  15. 300, the movie? Haven't seen it. Looks like something out of Breaking Bad. What's going on there?
  16. Been drinking java with half & half most of the time lately. Just emptied the pot black into a cup, and added a shot of Black Velvet, after we removed and cleaned the hot water supply to the washing machine. Was barely trickling out. Just needed a flushing and cleaning of the screen. Have to celebrate these little victories.

    Fine Food and Music

Well done, and I don't mean the degree of the meat. Very nice! And what music is playing? Just added Bob Dylan Radio to my Pandora account, wanting to hear Simple Twist of Fate or better yet the entire Blood on the Tracks album.
  18. "Knucklehead" is being nice. I had a dumb azz contractor want to see the speakers on my RF-7's. I took the grills off slowly and carefully and somehow I got off guard and next thing know he's putting one back on and smacking them in. Didn't break any pegs, but I learned my lesson. No one touches my grills unless they want their fingers broken. Kind of like thermostat etiquette. You don't touch someone else's thermostat. I had to glue one peg on an RF-5II when it arrived from shipping broken.
  19. I would think Superglue would work, but I think I used E6000.
  20. Mark, did you get those mahogany ones? If the broken pegs were saved you can glue them back on.
  21. Thank you. English Black Lab. He's a blockhead.
  22. Are we talking football still or the adult film industry?
  23. That just reminded me of a quick story. October, 1989 (2 months into marriage), I went to a poker game and came home at 3:00 a.m. with our first chocolate lab, Alex. He warmly greeted my wife by pouncing on our waterbed. No, I didn't win him, rather a friend was renting a house and the landlord said he had to go. Next day we brought him back, don't remember why...I think we were going out of town or something. As we were driving away, Alex was looking out the living room window watching us. A few days later we went back and got him & kept him. He was just over one year old. He needed a companion so 5 months later we got a female chocolate lab, Bailey. They were pals. Fast forward to 1994 and a chocolate lab next door (Otis) and Bailey hooked up and locked up. Wham, bam, thank you, mam...litter of 10 chocolate puppies in January, 1995. She was a great mom, and as hard as it was to not keep any, we gave a few to family members and sold the rest. My dad took one to O'hare airport and flew him to my uncles in Scottsdale, AZ. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun, Sorry, maybe not a quick story.
  24. That would be our big boy Marley...same dog as the puppy on the stump in my previous avatar. He has quite a bit more grey on his face now (like me). Our 4th lab, but him and Blaze are English Labs...shorter, stocky and blocky. Didn't even know there were two (at least) types of labs until 2008 when we got him from a breeder on our road.
