  1. Hello, I did some cursory searches for this issues, but either my google-fu is bad or I'm missing something. Regardless, I couldn't find the answer to my question. I just got this soundbar, but I can't seem to put it in stereo mode. The center channel is always on. I've tried adjusting dialog mode and surround, but no dice. Is this normal, or is there a way to turn it off?
  2. I just received the Cinema 600 and I am experiencing an odd problem. I connected the soundbar to my phone and played some test audio however, the soundbar itself will not play audio, but the sub woofer does play sound. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
  3. I am trying to set up a Cinema 600 sounder for the first time. The remote does not work, even with different batteries. I tried a factory reset. No joy. Also, I only get the orange light, and a dolby light, but I do not get the other 3 LED lights on the sound bar. What should I do? Everything is connected via HDMI.
  4. Just recently purchased the surround 3’a for the cinema 600. Surround synced without any issues problem I am having is with the surround speaker the volume is to loud it over powers the soundbar. I’ve lowered the volume for the rears but still the same issue. Firmware and software are up to date on the soundbar. Anyone else have this issue
  5. Hoping to get some feedback / recommendations for the best Klipsch soundbar to go with between the Cinema 600 vs the Bar 48? Anyone tried these that can give some thoughts and impressions between the two? They both cost $499 each. I'm not really sold on "wireless" vs hardwired. And front firing would be better for the sub. But, unfortunately, the soundbars all come with down firing subs. Plus, I live in an upstairs apartment with a woman in her 60's below me. Her living room is right below mine. So, I'm not sure if a soundbar is gonna be the best option for my living situation or maybe another set-up such as either satellites or bookshelf speakers with a front firing sub. What do you guys think?
  6. My Klipsch dealer from whom I purchased my soundbar told me last week that the Cinema 800 & 1200 have officially been discontinued (in Canada at least). Speculation is that the Cinema 600 is soon to follow.
  7. I added the Klipsch Surround 3 wireless speaker to my Cinema 600 SoundBar. Both speakers are set R and L including volume. Starting today I'm getting a lot of static from both speakers. Any help on clearing this issue will be appreciated. Thank you, CAYMINE
  8. Hi, I purchased a Klipsch sound bar 40” with 8” sub before the Cinema 600 came out. Should I upgrade to the Cinema 600 or is their a better sound bar like the 1200 with Dolby Atmos ?
  9. It is unfortunate in some ways that there isn't a "Cinema soundbar thread". I certainly understand why there are separate threads for the 1200, 800, and 600, each being a different product, but when it comes to the issues we all encounter there is much more in common across the whole Cinema line. As you may appreciate, because the Cinema 800 and Cinema 600 have been available longer than the Cinema 1200 more customers have had an opportunity to identify issues with those products. You may be surprised to learn that many of the Cinema 1200 issues have plagued the other models too. Have a look at some of the other threads in this forum: Cinema 1200 Cinema 800 Cinema 600 I have responded to posts in most of the threads involving the Cinema soundbars and, while numerous issues have been identified, there are common issues impacting all models related to: Firmware updates Power (soundbar just dies!) Random noises (affecting the soundbar, or subwoofer, or surround speakers) Dialog (indistinct, difficult to understand) HDMI-ARC connectivity All sound stops (either for a couple of seconds or permanently until power is removed from the soundbar) Video and sound synchronization. ... and more. In my opinion, these are just symptoms of a few larger issues impacting not only the Cinema soundbars but the previous BAR series too. Component reliability Design defects (or oversights) Software defects impacting the firmware. While these issues can be dealt with during the product development phase, they are much more difficult to rectify once a product is in distribution. The typical resolution for a component failure is a replacement unit but if there is an issue with the general reliability of the component the replacement may encounter the same issue. Worse yet, if other components are also subject to reliability issues, the replacement can have more issues than the soundbar that was returned. This is exactly what happened to me when I received a warranty replacement for my BAR 48! It would appear that the Cinema series has not achieved a significant improvement in component reliability. Design defects can be much more difficult to deal with, for example, a soundbar with a power supply incapable of providing the needed power. These issues are usually rectified when the product design is revised which, from what I have observed, is when Klipsch announces a new line of soundbars. If we expect to see improvements in future soundbars it is important that we provide Klipsch Product Support with the appropriate feedback. Firmware issues are likely to impact all devices so, if your issue is related to a firmware defect, a warranty replacement will not help. Unfortunately, as customers, we are unable to determine what issues are specifically firmware related. The good news is that some issues may be resolved by installing a firmware update. So far, I have not been very impressed with Klipsch firmware updates! Whatever issues you may be experiencing, I encourage you to register your product and open a case with Klipsch Product Support. Whether or not they are able to resolve your particular issue, this is the only way to reduce the likelihood that new products will encounter the same issues found in current models. I hope this overview will help you decide how to best deal with your current issues.
  10. you're still not wiring the Cinema 600 Power supply correctly . check the layout on the board as per this picture -White cable VDD , -Black cable GROUND -Red cable STB -24V Red cable at left -5V at right ...... small plug Red + White cables twisted together
  11. These are all the support articles for the Cinema 600. This is the Cinema 600 spec sheet. It is safe to assume if the spec sheet doesn't specifically state that a particular feature is supported then it isn't supported. Dolby Digital Plus provides higher quality audio than does other Dolby Digital modes but the Cinema 600 does not support and cannot process Dolby Digital Plus. None of the Cinema series soundbars support DTS. The power that the soundbar consumes depends on the audio output levels. When sitting idle it consumes very little and almost nothing if you just turn it off. There is no need to unplug it. Read the support articles to better understand how it works.

These are the Klipsch knowledgebase articles on the Cinema series soundbars. If you need to help after reviewing these sources, please be very specific about the symptoms you are experiencing. Phrases like "bad audio" are not very helpful. Your other option is to Submit a request to Klipsch Product Support for assistance.
  13. While changing the volume on the sound bar through cec using my lg’s remote, if audio is playing it cracks and pops. This does not happen while using the stand alone remote. If someone knows why this is happening I’d really appreciate the help. CEC control is so convenient and I’d really just like to use one remote most of the time. Thanks.
  14. Hi @Dogatos and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. I have good news for you: This is normal! See this knowledge base article. Cinema 600 - Turning Virtual Surround Sound On/Off While you are at it, have a look at the other Cinema Series articles. There is a lot of useful information there.
  15. Had this soundbar for 6 weeks and I like it a lot except for couple of issues. Judging by lack of posts here I don't think there are too many Cinema 400 owners here but I would appreciate everyone's thoughts. This is my 1st Klipsch product and although I've heard many wonderful reviews of the speakers, electronic side of their product perhaps is lacking when compared to the competition? My soundbar works as expected except when I shut off the tv, Sony X900H, soundbar also turns off only to turn itself on again. Sometimes, perhaps 1 out of 20, it will stay off but almost always it turns itself back on. Not a major issue, but I would love to see it behave properly. Called both Sony and Klipsch support, and of course, they both blame other equipment for the issue. Klipsch has provided an RA# but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble of exchanging the unit since I have no other issues. I've read a quite few Cinema 600 owners with their subwoofer connectivity issue and the humming so I'd rather not have to deal with that. Secondary issue, again very minor, is the lack of EQ on the soundbar. I've heard Klipsch Connect App is supposed to provide EQ control when the app is updated, but I don't think Cinema 400 will be able to utilize the app. Even low-end soundbars have some app support and I was extremely surprised Klipsch didn't offer anything for the Cinema 400. Thanks for listening to my rant 😉
  16. The same thing happened to me. I don't think the Cinema 800 or 1200 were shipping at the time I got my Cinema 600. Unfortunately, the Cinema 600 died after a few months. One of the reasons I chose the BAR48 was because the specs said it supported Dolby Digital Plus which can provide CD quality audio. While many of the BAR48 issues I reported had been resolved with the the Cinema 600, it doesn't support Dolby Digital Plus so it is actually a downgrade from the BAR48. The Cinema 800 on the other hand...
  17. The Cinema 600 repair is the same as the Bar 48.
  18. Hi! Is it safe to split the box in two? Need a more compact package for international delivery purposes
  19. Hi All, popping into the forums to say I had this problem on my Bar48 a couple weeks ago about 2 years and 9 months after purchase. Thought about trying the repair discussed here, but in my research I saw a post somewhere else on the web (that I can't find anymore) where an owner had luck getting an older Bar48 replaced. I couldn't quite piece together what was and wasn't covered under the split 1 year/3 year warranty for different failures, but thought the worst that could happen is they say no. So I sent in a warranty request, and I included a link to this thread in my message to Klipsch support. Well, despite the Bar48 only have 2+ months of the 3 year warranty left, Klipsch sent me a new Cinema 600 and told me to send the Bar48 back in the Cinema 600 packaging. Even if I only get another 2 years out of the Cinema 600 before running into a power supply problem, I'll take it. And I know where to come look again if I need to replace the Cinema 600 power supply in the future. Good luck all.
  20. I purchased a Cinema 600 soundbar in May 2021, which just died. Red light, won't power on. Went through the FW upgrade steps, still nothing; it's dead, Jim. I contacted Klipsch support and they wouldn't honor the warranty because I bought it open box through Best Buy which, honestly, is crap (but I get it). Worse, the Cinema 600 replaced an equally faulty Bar 48. Looking around the internet, I see a litany of similar stories and stumbled upon this (https://www.channelnews.com.au/is-the-klipsch-cinema-600-soundbar-being-recalled/) which leads me to believe this isn't isolated at all and Klipsch probably knows it. Here's the thing: I purchased the Surround 3's so I have the set up for a decent enough 5.1 should I choose to replace the Cinema 600. My question is: has the Cinema 600 been improved? Was the power supply issue addressed (which supposedly leads to the red light issue)? Will my Surround 3's still crackle and disconnect all the time if I purchase (yet another) Klipsch soundbar?
  21. My setup is similar to yours. Samsung Q70R 4K TV Apple TV 4K Klipsch Cinema 600 (with Surround 3 speakers) connected to my Samsung TV via HDMI-ARC. With all the devices you have it is important to know how they are all connected as each one has the potential to alter the audio format. Lets start with what the Cinema 600 supports. Even this is not clear to me. The Cinema 600 spec sheet states: Dolby Audio is pretty general and there are several Dolby Audio formats. Prior to getting the Cinema 600 I had (still do) a BAR 48. The BAR 48 spec sheet states: Here the specs are pretty specific about what formats are supported although I never could get any sound using Dolby Digital Plus. My TV supports these output formats and will allow me to choose them if the connected device supports them. PCM - Stereo or Mono. [HDMI-ARC or Digital] Dolby Digital - maximum of 6 channels (5.1) but also Mono, Stereo, 3.1. [HDMI-ARC or Digital] Dolby Digital Plus - Supports #2 at a higher bit rate plus 7.1. [HDMI-ARC only] Dolby Atmos With my BAR 48 I could select #1, #2, or #3, even though #3 wouldn't work. With my Cinema 600, I am no longer offered #3 as an option so I must assume the Cinema 600 does not support Dolby Digital Plus and therefore does not support 7.1 inputs. Based on the above, the best one can expect from the Cinema 600 is Dolby Digital 5.1 via HDMI-ARC or Digital inputs if the TV supports those connections. If the source content is not Dolby Digital encoded some TVs may continue to provide a Dolby Digital encoded output with only one or two channel content. My TV will automatically switch to PCM. This will affect how sound is processed by the Cinema 600. You should verify how your TV behaves. According to the documentation the Cinema 600 should Downmix 5.1 to 3.1 if the Surround 3 speakers are not connected. Provide virtual surround. Unfortunately, the manual does not explain exactly how virtual surround is supposed to work. The diagrams in the user manual do not include the subwoofer and, of course, there is no description provided so one can only speculate. Once we factor in other devices and apps, things begin to get complicated. Apps may run on your smart TV, Apple TV, Plex, or other devices. Some apps, like YouTube, only provide stereo output regardless what a particular video purports to offer. On the other hand, with the appropriate subscription, the Netflix app is capable of passing through a Dolby Digital encoded output stream if one is provided in the video but that still doesn't guarantee the Dolby Digital encoded stream will reach your soundbar if the platform on which the app is running is unable to capture and process (or pass through) the Dolby Digital encoded stream from the app. Klipsch has to provide better documentation and explain how these features are supposed to work. Only then can we know if the device is working as designed or if a specific behavior is the result of a defect. If we suspect a possible defect, as I would if the documentation is not specific, we need to open a case with Klipsch tech support to get the issue resolved. You can find additional information about some of the Cinema 600 features here.
  22. You can search this forum to see if anyone has encountered a particular issue. The Cinema 600 Sound Bar Thread has lots of helpful information. That would be a good place to become familiar with Cinema 600 soundbar issues or ask your question.
  23. So this is taken from 2 different posters. Not sure who is correct. I tried every which but sunday and can't get my sound bar to provide sound. I'm sending the psu back to amazon and am shopping for a new sound bar. Any suggestions??? On the low voltage side, as you're looking at it on the edge, the 24V is on the left and 5V is on the right. I confirmed this with a multimeter and urge anyone doing this repair to confirm this. In the 5V side, the red and white wires go together into the positive side. Black goes to ground. I can confirm the power supply is the same for the cinema 600. I have just completed the repair to my sound bar and it is back up and running. Also confirming on the cinema 600 the GND is the white cable, VDD is black and STB is the red wire on the smaller plug. as above twist the VDD and STB together and it will all work as expected.
  24. @Larry1974GD Re: Audio Quality There is a lot of information about things that can impact audio quality if you search online. There is no way this issue can be explained in a few paragraphs here. The sound levels you obtain when using an analogue or Bluetooth input depend on the source. If the sound from the soundbar is not loud enough, increase the sound level at the source. Again, audio quality also depends on the source material. If you are listening to old MP3 files, it doesn't matter what type of connection to the soundbar you have, the audio quality will be poor. Most TVs will pass through audio from one of its inputs to the HDMI-ARC as-is without converting it so while the HDMI-ARC (or eARC) has a much higher bandwidth than other connections and can support higher quality audio, it can't improve or change the audio quality it sees on its other inputs. If you are listening to audio only from external sources, you are better off connecting those sources directly to your Cinema 600 using the Digital (optical) input if you can. If not, use the analogue or Bluetooth inputs. You will get the best audio quality from your TV using the HDMI-ARC connection. This will allow you to use your TV's CEC functions to turn the soundbar on/off and control the volume using the TV remote. The Cinema 600 supports "Dolby Audio" but there are many types and only the most basic one, Dolby Digital, is supported. Dolby Digital can provide 5.1 surround sound via the HDMI-ARC or Digital connection but it cannot be considered high quality audio. Dolby Digital Plus can provide "CD Quality" audio but only via HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC. Unfortunately, the Cinema 600 cannot decode Dolby Digital Plus. If you want higher quality audio and higher sound levels from your Surround 3s, you might want to consider a Cinema 800. It will work with your existing Surround 3s. It has two HDMI connections on the soundbar so you will not be restricted by any limitations your TV may have. It supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Atmos, Dolby HD, and more. It supports HDMI-eARC so if your TV also has HDMI-eARC your soundbar will be able to process higher quality audio from your TV. Dolby Atmos provides precise positioning of specific sounds: front to back; left to right; up and down. The Cinema 800 does not support any up/down positioning and there is no way to connect additional speakers needed for full Atmos positioning but it does support Dolby Atmos, provides better positioning of sound than does Dolby Digital and provides much higher quality audio. I hope this helps...
  25. I suggest you try updating the firmware of your Cinema 600 speakers to fix the pairing issue. You can visit the official Klipsch website or contact the Klipsch support team to learn how to obtain and install the latest firmware for your speakers.
