  1. Hi @Subi and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. Can you describe what happened with step 3? What documentation did you follow when doing the upgrade? Here are the Cinema 1200 - Current Firmware Update Notes. With the newer firmware, the soundbar will phone home overnight and complete the firmware update but it needs a network connection. If your soundbar was using older firmware that didn't provide this capability there was a different procedure to update it: Cinema 1200 - Updating Older Firmware. This procedure includes a link to the WiFi firmware. Firmware updates can be finicky even if you follow the instructions exactly. I hate to say it but you may just get lucky after the second, third, or tenth attempt. I would make a small change to the step 3 procedure and perform #15 in between #5 & #6. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
  2. Hello, I purchased the Klipsch cinema 1200 soudbar yesterday and I can't do anything with this system. 1. Volume is stuck at 30, can't change that 2. Can't pair bluetooth 3. Klipsch connect app does not detect my sound bar. 4. Tried doing firmware upgrade. Steps 1 (DSP) and 2 (MCU) went fine but got stuck with step 3 (WIFI). Current firmwares are as follows MCU V118 WIFI (that's it, no version) DSP 5.4 SUR T82 SUR R82 SUR L82 SUB T03 SUB R06 HDMI 43 I have created a support request with Klipsch, meanwhile looking for help here on this forum. Has anyone else experienced similar problem? Thanks, Subi
  3. 2 year update after starting this thread: my Bar48 is still working great! Got tempted by a heavily discounted Cinema 1200 the other day, but I think I’m a bit too emotionally invested into this Bar48 to replace it. 😄
  4. Hello @James Robertson and welcome to the Klipsch Community forums. The Cinema Series (and before that, the BAR Series) were plagued with severe firmware and reliability issues. Current firmware has addressed most of the major firmware issues affecting the Cinema Series but component reliability continues to be an issue. You haven't provide much information about your issue and while it sounds as if it could be a component failure there are a few things you can check before requesting another RMA. Verify that your electrical outlet is still providing power: plug another device into the outlet that supplies power to your sub or plug your sub into a different outlet that you know is working. Please review these knowledgebase articles: Cinema 1200 - Subwoofer Wireless Connection Cinema 1200 - Subwoofer Reconnect Please reply back and let us know how your issue got resolved.
  5. TLDR: the output level of the subwoofer RCA jack is very low. Without the extra gain of my WA-2s, integration might have been difficult. After initially setting the Cinema 1200 up with the included wireless sub, I switched to the subs from my previous system, consisting of 2x Klipsch R112SW, connected via WA-2 wireless subwoofer kits. At first, there was no output at all from my subs. I found that the subs were not powering up in the "auto" mode (the input was too low to trigger them on). After switching the subs to "on" I noticed very low bass output. I had to max the gain knob on the subs to 11 and add max out the soundbar sub volume to get reasonable output. When using the wireless sub, the sub volume was set to 0 and I mostly listened in Night 1 mode to reduce bass. Fortunately, the WA-2 has the ability to apply 12db of gain or attenuation, and that seems to be enough to compensate for the very low output on the sub out jack. I still need to play with levels to adjust Night-0 for normal use and Night-1 for quiet times, aka after wife goes to bed.
  6. For now, it seems to be fine. I was actually surprised this morning when I tried the music streaming from Apple/Amazon. "Alexa, play classic rock on cinema 1200", and it just worked. I always expect problems, or having to add a "skill" when adding 3rd party hardware to Amazon's ecosystem. If the system does act up, I will definitely reach out to Klipsch. I'm a techie, and somewhat tolerant of quirks I can work around. My wife is not, and her leisure time is too valuable to deal with unreliable tech. If it causes her trouble, it will be going back.
  7. Just received a new Cinema 1200 yesterday. Installed firmware matches what Klipsch shows as current. MCU v118 > WIFI 1.0.219.0 > DSP 5.4 > SUR T 82 > SUR R 82 > SUR L 82 > SUB T 03 > SUB R 06 > HDMI 43 Setup was pretty easy, though a bit clunky. First few hours of use were extremely buggy, mostly with the remote buttons doing random things. Volume changing night mode, and muting the TV instead of changing volume up/down, extreme delays when trying to make changes. Then it settled down and seemed to respond normally. This afternoon it turned on and there was no sound. Switching inputs to HDMI 2 then back to HDMI 1 fixed it, or maybe it just needed time. Can't really judge sound, as surrounds are not yet properly placed and I have not hooked up my existing subs. Testing was with the included wireless sub placed in a poor location.
  8. Cinema 1200-800 FW updates are in the works , Cinema 600 FW cant be too far away , it is actually much easier for klipsch to do a software fix for a 600 versus the 1200 -800 . .
  9. klipsch are working on Firmware updates for the Cinema 1200-800 , Cinema 600 does not show any pending issues online . Cinema 1200 https://www.klipsch.com/products/cinema-1200-sound-bar-and-surround-system ISSUE: CINEMA 1200 REMOTE IS NOT ADJUSTING REAR HEIGHT OR FRONT HEIGHT VOLUME. SOLUTION: A FIRMWARE UPDATE IS BEING TESTED AND WILL BE IMPLEMENTED OVER THE AIR OR VIA USB UPDATE. THE KLIPSCH CONNECT APP CAN ALSO ADJUST ALL CHANNEL VOLUMES. 10. My Klipsch dealer from whom I purchased my soundbar told me last week that the Cinema 800 & 1200 have officially been discontinued (in Canada at least). Speculation is that the Cinema 600 is soon to follow.
  11. The consensus is they have been known to inject things at times to steer those into other brands especially after they started going with a paid subscriber model. No one that owns Cinema 800's I spoke with understands what they posted. It is true that Atmos gets mixed to the the left and right mains due to not having dedicated Atmos speakers like the Cinema 1200's, but the mains do indeed play discrete when they are supposed to. My son loves the setup (I added an unused R120-SW to it, but not the surround speakers).
  12. If you wish to submit a bug report you should Submit a request to Klipsch Product Support. The responses you receive in these forums are from other users, like yourself, who may have information they are willing to share but we don't have access to any internal Klipsch documentation, especially any information about how a feature is supposed to work. As you might imagine this makes it extremely difficult to determine whether a specific behaviour is normal or due to a bug. As Klipsch has updated their firmware the soundbar behaviour has changed. For example, if you wanted to check a setting selecting it used to activate the next option then show you that setting. Klipsch finally changed that behaviour so that the first press of a button did nothing other than show the current setting. The setting was only changed when the button was pressed a second time. While the sound modes do change the sound, Klipsch has said little about how this works or exactly how the sound has been altered. This is especially true for the Cinema 700, 800, & 1200 soundbars that have many more modes from which to choose.
  13. I have the exact same problem with my Cinema 800 and it has been this way since I bought it in 2021. I also have the surround 3s but I am using an LG C1 for my TV. I have seen this reported for the Cinema 1200 as well but I have yet to see a root cause or a fix identified. I have done troubleshooting with Klipsch support but nothing resolves the issue.
  14. Only you can decide what is best for you and "better" is a relative term. It implies better suited in a particular situation and you don't say how you use your soundbar. For example, I certainly would not want a Cinema 1200 just to listen to quiet music in my bedroom as I go to sleep. As you may know, the Cinema series is a replacement for the BAR series of soundbars. When they were first introduced they had lots of reliability issues and firmware issues similar to what owners of the BAR series experienced. Most of the firmware issues have been resolved and the Cinema 600 is now at hardware revision 3. I don't know if there have been hardware revisions to the other Cinema soundbars. Now that Klipsch has reduced the price of the Cinema series soundbars they offer great bang for the buck but it leads me to believe they may be getting ready to introduce a new series of soundbars to replace the Cinema series. If you are looking for a new soundbar, this is what I suggest: Decide how it will be used: blockbuster movies with surround sound? Something else? Establish a budget. Do a Google search for soundbar reviews and compare what is available. When you find something that interests you, check it out in some of the available community forums. There is a lot of information in this forum about the Cinema sound bars. Check it out... Cinema 1200 Cinema 800 Cinema 600
  15. Hi, I purchased a Klipsch sound bar 40” with 8” sub before the Cinema 600 came out. Should I upgrade to the Cinema 600 or is their a better sound bar like the 1200 with Dolby Atmos ?
  16. Sorry, yes I am still under the 90 days to return it. I just expected more out of the Cinema 1200. I do hear a lot more sound from the rear speakers over my living room setup. All I really need is a center channel and I could have a decent setup in my bedroom and save my self about $650, just by buying a center channel. I guess I expected more out of it. The signal processing is really good in it though. I don't hear as much coming from my RB75's in my living room setup. I use a pair of RB75's as my rears in my living room setup.
  17. Your RB75s are exceptional speakers, I think you need a better center speaker, like an RC62ll or better. Don't care for the Cinema 1200? Can you return it?
  18. So a week ago I got the Klipsch Cinema 1200 sound bar system. I'm not really overly impressed with the system that is in my bedroom, however it does bring the rear channels alive more than my main system does IMO. Here is my main question, I have 2 RB75's and the RSW15 in my bedroom now. I also have a pair of RS7's that I'm not using. With the 5 of those and a center channel speaker would make a better surround system for the bedroom. What do you all think would make the best center channel speaker for the setup? I can't find a RC7 that isn't all beat to hell for the life of me. I was thinking on getting either a RC3 or RC3 II center channel. I'd love to find a RC7 for the bedroom setup or if anyone in here has one for sale or can find me one would be great. What are your thoughts on getting either the RC3 or the RC II for the bedroom system? My thoughts are getting the RC II and I found one for sale and it's in excellent condition. All of the speakers would be hooked up to my older Onkyo TX SR701. I await your thoughts...............
  19. I'm sure that Cinema 1200 would sound excellent. Hang on to your RB75s!
  20. What's everyone's thoughts about this system for a bedroom setup? I currently have 2 RB75's and 1 RSW15 with an Onkyo TX-SR701. Looking to have more of a surround sound set up in there instead of stereo mode. https://www.klipsch.com/products/cinema-1200-sound-bar-and-surround-system?gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmZejBhC_ARIsAGhCqnclFKS4tVnPoM_HwTKBqmgDpFFEBfugr35MKBLzqu48fe7IydDuPDEaArSzEALw_wcB

  22. Hi everybody.Im writing from Germany and im the proud owner of a Cinema 1200.In the past i used the German Manufacturer TEUFEL for Music and Movies and decided to try something new.Got my soundbar 2 days ago.Unboxed and connected everything.Bar was freezing, not connecting right, remote wasnt responding to adjust volume level.Read this topic and started with diving on the Klipsch Support site also in the forums. We dont have that much german forums or informations about klipsch products.Tryed a lot of things. And now im done with my adventure of updates and fixes.wanna share my experience with you guys.I follow the steps of the following link. https://support.klipsch.com/hc/en-us/articles/6733616086292-Cinema-1200-Updating-Older-Firmware I must say,all works fine.FOLLOW the steps shown in the description.I use my soundbar with a digital optical cable.NOT HDMI (have a philips 4k tv where the eARC has bugs, not possible to update the firmware right.) i know that i cant use the atmos feature over toslink.Later when we buy a new TV then i will try it again. so good luck with the updates.its simple.would be kind if i get some feedback about positive success.
  23. Purchased he Klipsch Cinema 1200 a week a go. So far I am disappointed with the product. Coming from separates, the sound is ok for a sound bar I guess... My big complaint is that after spending a few hours following the firmware update procedure, my bar wont turn on. I have to unplug it and plug it back in. All the firmware updates were done and correspond to the ones Klipsch have on the firmware update site. There is only one showing HDMI 42 instead of HDMI 43. In my extensive tests... I noticed if I unplug the surrounds, the system will power on/off correctly. I reinstalled the manual firmware update for the surrounds, issue still there. Any ideas? Already opened a ticket.
  24. Have you read the Cinema 1200 Knowledge Base articles? That's the best place for information. There were a couple of other articles about updating your firmware but they are gone now. Klipsch tends to do a lot of that. 😞 When you finally install the latest firmware successfully the soundbar will update the firmware on its own as long as it has an Internet connection. I don't remember if it is the latest WIFI oe MCU firmware that will do it. The instructions in the missing articles say to leave the soundbar connected to the Internet and it should get the remaining updates within 72 hours. If you have the latest DSP, MCU, amd WIFI, you can do a manual firmware update otherwise leave it for 72 hours and see if it updates itself.
