  3. I recently acquired a pair of the Klipsch KG 5.5 speakers in 9.5/10 condition at a garage sale for $200 bucks for the pair! A friggin steal! However as i cranked them up i heard a loud buzzing in the woofer. Upon further research it seems that other people have this same problem with the KG series. The speakers turn 20 this August 27th, so they are old and people have said that with age there will be loose crap under the dust cap that causes the loud and annoying vibrations that i hear when i turn them up to medium volumes. So far I'm going to buy some replacement Titanium Dome Diagaphrams for the tweeters from bob crites, and I'm looking for a good replacement woofer. I know somebody makes a replacement woofer specifically for the KG series listed here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/160962694691?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 Looking at the specs they don't give you any frequency response graphs, so i decided that i will probably use this woofer https://www.parts-express.com/goldwood-gw-10pc-8-10-heavy-duty-woofer-8-ohm--290-324 The sensitivity and impedance of this woofer is the same as the replacement one so it should work, and the reviews say its great. Does anybody have any thoughts or opinions on this, or any upgrade ideas to make my KG 5.5's even better?
  4. Yamaha C-40 pre-amp and M-40 amp for sale in Miami. Both were in my system up to six months ago and work perfectly. The pre-amp has a renowned phono stage. $500 for the pair, for pick up only in North Miami-Dade county Florida. (I might even drive them to you in Dade or Broward if not too distant.) PM me if interested. Thanks.
  5. Need to downsize and find a new home form my circa 1985 Khorns (oak/cane grills). Single owner; still sound great; cabinets and grills in perfect condition. Also have a matching Heresy II for anyone interested in creating the Paul Klipsch center channel experience. $1800 for the package. Buyer must be able to pick up from North Miami-Dade County, FL. PM if interested.
  6. Only reason I'm selling this is because I'm selling my house and it can't come with me. I've priced it low and just want it to find a good home. Local pickup only in the Boston area. Excellent condition. Powerful (60 real watts/channel), sounds great, one of the great workhorse receivers from the 80's.
  7. Hello K-peeps! Thank you for allowing me into your inner sanctum, I’ve enjoyed learning about Klipsch while gathering info on the speakers I am selling for a friend, but most of all I’ve enjoyed seeing that people are still passionate and excited about hobbies and things they enjoy for fun. So thank you for that breath of fresh air and... I am selling a pair of floorstanding Klipsch Cornwall speakers, CWO (Cornwall Walnut Oiled). They have consecutive serial numbers: 23U771 & 23U772 and per those numbers they were built in 1980 (learned that here!) All parts are original but they’re missing the Klipsch nameplates on the grilles. Cosmetically they could use some cleaning & refinishing. The grille fabric is fraying in spots and the cabinets have some surface scratches and paint scuffs but there’s no structural damage. My friend tells me they work fine but I’m sure they could use some upgrades. They are located in Bremerton, Washington for you to pick up but delivery and shipping are possible options that we can discuss, depending on your location. Asking $1111 (because it’s my favorite number) /obo (because it always says that)😁 Thank you for sharing your time, knowledge and lovely community! ~Brandie B.
  8. Klipsch Cornwall Loudspeaker set Model Type: CD-BR. Original owner purchased (1979/80) from audiophile on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak, Michigan. Sequential serial numbers (155616 & 155617). Both in working order one of the woofers needs to be looked at and/or serviced still works. Located in SE Michigan (Macomb Township) Call Andre @ 586-873-7929 Asking: $1,450.00 negotiable (local preferred or +shipping for out of state)
  9. This is a really clean Dynaco sca-35, it has had the Dave Gillespie efb modifications done which make it much more stable and puts out a few more watts of power also has st-35 output boards in it. Tone controls have been removed from the circuit for improved performance as well. All new tubes in every socket. There is a small imperfection on the faceplate if you look below the power switch you’ll see it. Asking 525 plus shipping
  10. Short story long, got divorced, moved into a condo, sold my Mac 4200, time to sell my babies. They are in perfect working order and cosmetically beautiful for 43 year olds. I have plenty of quality pics I can send if you contact me directly. I have them for sale locally but would prefer they went to a good Klipsch home. Located near New Orleans in Mandeville, La. I was asking 2500 locally to scare away the riff raff. Open to reasonable offers. I will sell the all original 77s for 1950.
  11. I have a vintage marantz 2250b receiver that I currently run a vintage dual turntable off of with Vintage JBL 4312s that I’m not a huge fan of. I also have two Sonos speakers that are connected and I stream music from Spotify and pandora that way. I’d like to replace the JBLs but I’m trying to decide whether I want to go vintage again with Klipsch speakers or if I would rather buy some of the newer reboot Klipsch Heritage series So that I have brand new speakers. My question is - is it possible to run the newer Klipsch speakers, say the Heresy IV off of a vintage receiver. Sorry if these are dumb questions. I’m new to this game.
  12. (Please be patient as I'm visually impaired. If you point to any information it would be helpful to provide clear links and description of what I'm looking at so I can follow. Thanks.) I bought a pair of Forte II used and was told they have both the Citrix crossover and titanium tweeter according to the seller. That is the extent of my knowledge on them. I can hear they are probably working soundly during two states, blasting loudly or when I crank the treble down and max out the bass on my amps. This leads me to believe they are mechanically sound, but possibly misconfigured. I don't think they could intentionally be this bright, they loose all boogie and become treble cannons at regular volumes. They appear to be functioning soundly, but they don't seem to register much on the low end except in these two circumstances. I've done lot of failed searches to try to understand these crossovers but that's tricky with my visual impairment. Can anyone tell me if there is a straight forward way of adjusting these crossovers with pins to redistribute some of the power to the low end? I know some replacement crossovers you can just change some terminals. I gathered the former owner had a high frequency hearing loss and I'm no longer in touch with him, but I wondered if he had them configured bright without knowing it, he also said he played them pretty loud which seems to masks the problem. Note that I am getting the same results off a variety of amps with various power levels ranging from 20wpc tube monoblocks to 55wpc RMS NAD receivers. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks (a few photos post wood restoration and new grills I made. In the end I manged to clean up the original very well too. So I have to sets now.)
  13. This is a nearly perfect Marantz Model 1060 integrated amp with black faceplate. I think the black is a fantastic look because it really sets the knobs off against the background. It had a complete restoration with high quality components, here is the rundown - Installed Panasonic FC 105C rated capacitors on power supply board Removed glue residue from power supply board Installed CDE Quencharc snubber capacitor on power switch to prevent arcing Upgraded filter capacitor to Nichicon Gold Tune 10000uF/80V, installed film bypass capacitor Upgraded coupling capacitors to Mundorf M-Lytic 4700uF for enhanced bass response Installed WIMA film and Elna Silmic II capacitors on preamp board Upgraded preamp board local filter from 100uF to 220uF Nichicon Fine Gold Installed gain matched OnSemi KSA992/KSC1845 transistors on preamp board Upgraded phono board local filter from 100uF to 220uF Installed Nichicon Muse and WIMA film capacitors on phono board Replaced unreliable 2SC458 transistors on phono board with gain matched KSC1845 Installed Nichicon Muse capacitors on amplifer board Upgraded input coupling capacitors to WIMA film types Replaced small signal transistors on amplifier with OnSemi KSA733C/KSC945C Replaced varistors with 1N4148 diodes Set bias and clipping to factory specifications 39 capacitors, 16 transistors, 2 diodes, 1 snubber capacitor replaced This amplifier sounds great, and performed well on bench testing. All functions and inputs are working correctly. The 1060 is a legend in the Marantz lineup for good reason, it is a warm and enjoyable sounding amp. It's very well built, easy to service, and loaded with features. The 1060 is a capacitor coupled design, so expect a "thump" from your speakers when powering the unit on. The top cover has a nice satin black powdercoat. It comes with a reproduction WC-10 case in walnut. It is beautiful and best of all, doesn't smell like smoke that many of the the old ones suffer from. You would be hard pressed to ever find one this nice. I ship with Fedex ground and it will be very, very well packed for shipping. This is a very heavy piece with the cabinet. I'm guessing at 40lbs. Ships to CONUS only. All sales final with no returns. This one was completely rebuilt by Jailtime on AudioKarma site. He is a long time rebuilder and knows his stuff. Thanks so much. Please consider the case alone was over $180. Labor and parts $250. Price is $750 plus $50 flat rate Fedex with insurance to Conus. Local pickup zip 62690.

  16. Selling a pair of 1989 heresy standing speakers (in birch raw finish) with angled risers and a KV-1 center channel. This sound system was purchased in February of 1989 and has had no previous owners- so it's in excellent condition. I've had offers on Facebook and from some friends but I would love to sell them to someone who truly appreciates Klipsch! Let me know if you're interested.

  18. Hello, I am thinking of doing an upgrade/update to my processor, from a Sunfire TGP-III to possibly a Yamaha CX-A5100 for a 5.2 system? Judging STRICTLY by sound quality, not bells and whistles or any other criteria, purely talking about sound, would it be and upgrade or a downgrade?? Any thoughts?? Thank you!!! 20. To start off, my wife and I are having a baby in the next couple of weeks, and I need something at home that will operate without any future headaches. That being said, this relic from days gone by needs to find a new home! I bought it locally (OKC) a few months ago and after some research, I've uncovered that I have a partially restored unit. Some coupling caps have been replaced along with a few more parts, the electrolytic capacitors are still original and need to be replaced. The output tubes still have some life left in them, and all of the preamp tubes work great. This amp has very minimal noise in it which was a high priority for me in the tube search. It sounds unbelievable. It hurts to let it go, but someone with a technician background would be able to enjoy this amp like I never could. The wooden case is the only obvious quirk. An older gentleman owned this Fisher since its heyday and developed quite the attachment to it. At some point, it no longer fit inside of a furniture piece in his home so he routed the corners off of the back of the case in an effort to force the fit. I'm calling it a folk art piece. Its the back of the receiver so you don't ever see it regardless. Apart from that, the ink on the faceplate has worn off in some places and in its place, some tiny white labels sit in the on and off positions on the front, and on the inputs on the back. You can vaguely see these in the photo provided. I can furnish you with some more photos if you're interested. I'll let her go for $600 OBO.
  21. For Sale - Vintage Klipsch Cornwall Speakers (2) - (S Code - 1978) I have never hooked them up, but the components look like they are in great shape. The woofers move freely without obstruction. Cabinets could use refinishing but are in great structural shape (thought about doing it myself, but didn't want to prevent collectors from being able to restore in a certain way). Paper residue on back of cabinet could easily be removed with a degreaser (again didn't want to interfere with restoration). Cash Only and Northwest Arkansas pick up only. Text interest to (479) 685-7295 . ThanksRuss
  22. Hello all, I'm looking for some help identifying what Klipsch set my dad gave me so I can find the right owner's manual. Please let me know what information on the back of these speakers and subwoofer would be helpful. Any advice/help would be appreciated.
  23. I am trying to find out what model number these are and if there are still spare parts available if necessary. They have been stashed away for many years and i just pulled them out to see if they still work. Any suggestions?
  24. Just joined the Klipsch F.U.G. forum at the recommendation of some one on the Audiokarma forum. My wife and I recently purchased a Mid Century Modern home circa 1967. Architecturally the home was ahead of it's time, with a big open floor plan, electric drapes, remote lighting controls, and a media room stereo speakers in every room. We would have never been able to afford a home like this built new, but because the neighborhood schools are not the best, the price was right. Sadly though the floor plan did not provide any good locations to position my Klipsch Cornwalls I had owned for 30 years . So I sold them for more than I paid for and started a fund to up grade the homes audio system. In the home's custom built solid oak media center survived a visually pristine Dual 109 turn table and a Sony 250 reel to reel player. My original plan was to just keep the turn table and reel to reel and replace everything else with modern electronics starting with the speakers. At one time I had dreamed of buying a tube amp to power my Cornwalls, but priorities change. The first speakers on the list for replacing were the wall mounted speakers in the media center. Pulling off the grills I was surprised to discover a pair of coaxial 15" EV Wolverine LT- 15 speakers. I learned how to adjust the "Brightness" knobs and the speakers started to come alive. With a little work on the surrounds and powered by a good amp they should sound great. After the pleasant surprise discovering the Wolverines I decided to find out what was behind the grills in the 6 other room's 12 ceiling stereo speakers. What I found was both good and bad. The good was instead of finding a simple 6" speaker screwed to a hole in the ceiling I found 12 "small" acoustic suspension Frazier speakers. The "small" speakers measure 12' X 12' X 16', have a 6.5" Frazier woofer, a Frazier horn tweeter, and are constructed of 3/4" high grade plywood (see photos). Very heavy and painted black. The bad, the woofer surrounds were literarily gone, and the cones crumbled to the touch. Even worse the woofer is installed from the back and the cabinets must have been installed in the ceiling before the plaster board, so the hole in the ceiling is smaller than the speaker making easy removal impossible without cutting the cabinet. Now my request for technical help. I had been searching the web for a potential woofer replacement and had come out empty handed. My searches centered on home stereo woofer replacements and found only high power (100 watt) replacements for modern speakers. Turns out however there is a market out there for low power, high efficiency replacement speakers for vintage portable guitar tube amps! Eminence Speakers manufactures a 20 watt 6.5" woofer with good specs that may be a perfect replacement . Plus it is made in the USA. Check out the Eminence 620H specs a : https://www.eminence.com/pdf/620H.pdfCan any of the F.U.G gurus take a look at the specs for the Eminence 620H and give me guidance if the 620H would make a good replacement for the Frazier woofer? The best I can determine the Frazier horn tweeter gets flat between 5K and 20K. The installed capacitor is 3.0 MFD 50 VDC. Thanks in advance for any help finding a replacement.
  25. Hello! I've recently purchased the 'Klipsch The One' and now I'm trying to figure out how to connect it to an old 70s receiver (pioneer sx750). Since speakers can just be connected to my receiver with stripped cables, and "The One' has just a mini-jack port, I'm wondering how would be the best way to plug it. Please see attachment. Hope you can help me out! Thanks!
