Steve_L
Did you know Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings? No way!? Probably a neighborhood garage band, everyone starts someplace.

fenderbender
When the twentysomething said "Geezer Rock" what immediately came to mind is Little Feat's "Old Folks Boogie". Off our rockers, actin' crazy With the right medication we won't be lazy Doin' the old folks boogie Down on the farm Wheelchairs, they was locked arm in arm Paired off pacemakers with matchin' alarms Gives us jus' one more chance To spin one more yarn And you know that you're over the hill When your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill Doin' the old folks boogie And boogie we will 'Cause to us the thought's as good as a thrill Back at the home, No time is your own, Facillities there, they're all out on loan The bank forclose, and your bankruptcy shows And your credit creeps to an all-time low So you know, that you're over the hill When your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill Try and get a rise from an atrophied muscle, And the nerves in your thigh just quivers and fizzles So you know, that you're over the hill When your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill When the twentysomething said "Geezer Rock" what immediately came to mind is Little Feat's "Old Folks Boogie". Moderators dtel Posted January 19, 2009 Moderators Share Posted January 19, 2009 Come on guys, "Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now" Remind us, I still am the past as far as music goes............................for the most part,...........I am an old geezer []
joshnich
I know that I am one of the odd men out on this but I always thought CC&N were not much more than an updated version of the Everly Bros. When Neil Young joined them they got a tad more listenable. I listen to them now and I really dont think they hold up to other bands of the era. JMHO. I actually think they are more Geezer easy listening rather then Geezer Rock. Josh

russ69
Geezer rock is the music the older kids listened to when I was a kid. I my case that's Elvis. The oldies stations play stuff from the 80's! That's just wrong! Thanx, Russ
Audio Flynn
I told one of the twentysomething's at work that I was going to see a Crosby & Nash concert that night. She said "Who are they? Never heard of them". I said "They're part of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, you've heard of them haven't you" ? She thought for a moment and said "No, are they old?" I said " They were one of the supergroups in the seventies and early eighties." She said "Oh, Geezer Rock" Just saw NY do the gezzer rock thing real well in December 2009. Stills Young band infamous "Long May You Run" tour. Saw Crosby and Nash in 1977 as I recall with a back up band kn own as "The Section" plus David Lyndley on slide. Saw Crosby's first solo tour after prision. An excellently recorded King Biscuit CD of this tour can be found. Saw all SNY reunion tours of past 10 years. For over 30 years the coutless times I have seen the various iterations of Geezers CSNY they only a few times seemed less than rockers.
