colterphoto1
Go get em Tony. With 3 KSM 2's, 3 KSM-12II's, and a pair of Renkus Heinz dual woofer models, I'm in Monitor Nirvana already.
Arky
Yeah, get em Tony. I can't.
BEC
A forum member contacted me on the 9th about buying these. He is supposed to pick them up tomorrow. If anything happens to that deal, Tony would be next in line. Bob
bhendrix
Hi Bob, Are you ready to sell a pair of the nasty little MWM single bins yet? I want them when you are, please. [:'(]
BEC
Bill, I don't think those are going anywhere. I am not really the speaker selling type. I generally build larger buildings when I run out of room for speakers. Of course, I am running out of room for buildings too. Bob
colterphoto1
I'm guessing but wouldn't the volume of the cabinets of those slant montior models be equal to the volume of the standard heresies for proper loading of the woofer? Remember that they're monitors Mark. No one cares about < 100Hz, we're just trying to get the voices screaming above the guitars! [] The HSM is considerably smaller than a standard Heresy. After you subtract the volume of the horn and woofer, there isn't much air in that baby at all.
Edgy
I wish Klipsch had put some decent input cups like that on my '84 Heresies.
BEC
OK, for someone who has done a geometry problem since I have, an exercise for you. Here are the measurements of the HSM. Figure the internal volume. Bob
colterphoto1
need a couple more measurements Bob, can you give peak to bottom and the widest width (from your drawing). I can get close. As I said before, the volume of the components eats up a lot of the interior.

BEC
OOPS! Forgot the top and bottom caps....try 2.718 cu ft.! Hmmm... I get 1.824 for the internal volume of the 1982 Heresy 1 that I have. Bob
Daddy Dee
I wonder if the additional cab volume helps the bass. hmmm. interesting.
BEC
Well, I think I blew out several thousand brain connections I haven't used in years. Anyway, I calculate a volume of the HSM cabinet as 1.75 cu. ft. This number is a lot different from the value calculated by another forum member. Need some other people to give this one a try. BEC
I should post a couple of more measurements to help with this calculation. This makes three triangles. We can find the area of the three triangles by use of Heron's formula since we know the length of all the sides. After getting volume of the whole box like that. I figured the volume of each of the sides and top and bottom (plywood thickness) and subtracted that amount from the total volume figured earlier. Islander
You're all doing it the hard way. Put it in the tub and see how much water it displaces, then subtract the volume of the wooden panels (and the drivers and crossovers, if you forgot to remove them).
