Colin
Friend has three-piece Bose lifestyle system (what can I say, they have many people convinced there is the best). Not sure which one. The receiver unit apparently does not work. Can I strip of the connectors and wire the two jewel cubes to an Adcom amplifier? Can I wire the woofer module in parallel? CECAA850
I think I'd take a DVOM and check impedance on those drivers before I hooked them up to anything. At least you'll have a starting point on what load your amp might see. There's no telling how Bose has those things wired.

Colin
checked the connections, Lifestyle 5, uses RCA, needs new plugs, used Adcom, no problem, now to get woofer module working
Invidiosulus
It wouldn't surprise me if there was some funny EQ going on inside the Bose reciever that might be missed if you went straight off another amp. Then again judging by the sound of the jewel cubes and lack of bass module there might not be.
wsu99999
FWIW, prior to entering into Klipsch, I picked up a Bose Acoustamass 12 on CL for 200 bucks with all the bells and whistles. The main power cord was missing and while I ordered a new one from Bose (about 75 bucks if my memory serves me correctly), I hooked it up to a 75wpc receiver I had laying around (I'm not 100% what the model was, but it was a pioneer). Long story short, by the time the cord came for me to hook up the actual Bose components, I had blown 2 of the cubes playing at moderate levels. I think the actual bose units provide extremely low watts to their speakers because it definately wasn't an issue with the receiver. Just a word of caution, I would take it easy on the little boxes until I was sure they weren't going to explode

Triaxtremec
bose jewel cube speaker do not have a cross over built inside them, all crossovers are built within the bass module them selves. You must run everything through the bass module first or you will blow them.
