Matthews
I recently purchased a pair of RF-7's and am running an Onkyo TX-SR600. I have not hooked the speakers up yet and have some concerns about the compatability of the two. Will the RF-7 be powered sufficiantly from the Onkyo. I love to really rock out and am a little worried about over heating my amp or possibly damaging the speakers. Any suggestions please... Bill H.
You should be just fine. For a 2002 unit it was a good Mid Price Unit . CNET gave it good Reivews. For now you should be fine, and later on you can add an Amp...........Enjoy. http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers/onkyo-tx-sr600/4505-6466_7-9740735.html

Vick's Pit
Doesn't everyone on here usually talk about how RF-7's like a lot of power for good clean loud sound? If that's the case and you really want to rock them, then I think a beefier receiver or amp should be called upon.
Thaddeus Smith
he asked about component damage, not performance quality.
Vick's Pit
He also said he likes to rock out and worries about damaging the speakers. If you're not providing the speakers with ample power because the receiver/amp is clipping then this could cause speaker damage. I think we both answered his question. Fish
If you keep the volume reasonable it's ok,if you crank it on full range you could more easily(than robust amp) damage amp or speaker.
SWL
You'll be fine. Start looking for a 300-500 watt high current amp and then you'll really appreciate your RF-7's.
Pete H
I've run them really cranking with a TX SR 805 and never had a problem and the used the pre outs to run them throgh some M200T Carvers run 1 per speaker and though they sould great through the Onkyo, the difference in the bass with the carvers is quite noticible. If you run a strong sub with the 7's, you won't notice near the difference and I would strongly recommend matching them with a RSW 15, it really sounds great.
