Magnolia Theater/Best Buy says "good-bye" to Klipsch?

So, I popped into my local Best Buy and couldn't find any Klipsch in the Magolia Theater section. Apparently Magnolia is phasing out Klipsch. Can this be true? Bummer. However, clearance sales for Klipsch, so I was told, should be around the corner.

hhmmph, is there any place you can demo Klipch anymore? I'll concede the BB/Magnolia products were not my Klipsch cup of tea but it was still a place that had them on the floor.

just checked the websites- Magnolia has NO Klipsch listed on their speaker-finder

Best Buys looks to carry only the Icon, Quintet, and new integrated HT setups. No Synergy or Reference mentioned except for RS52.

I like the new opportunities that have opened up for buying online, but at the same time I miss the showrooms where I was once able to audition equipment I wanted to buy. It seems that lower online prices has taken a hard toll on the brick and mortar showroom places to shop.

Best Buy is going down the same road as CompUSA & Circuit City. Clueless, frequently turned over, sales staff and airheaded in-store management. MSRPs in many cases because there is no local brick & mortar competetion. They don't remember, nor do they care, what you bought last month, whether you spent $10 or $1000. Even the casinos remember (boy do they remember) what their players spend and how they spend it. But BB and it's ilk have no "aftercare" or recommendations, after you leave their sight, for add-on purchases beyond "extended warranties" at the register.

Maybe I shouldn't admit this, but these present-day stores and the web lead me and a lot of other people I know to visit the local store, fondle the merch, then run home to find the best price on the web. I'd never dream of doing this at a Myer Emco or other old-time retailer, because I felt we had a relationship that endured from sale to sale.

I was just wondering the same thing after being in Mag/BB earlier today. There was nothing on the demo floor, but there was a open box clearance of Icon34's. I thought it a bit strange, but glad I'm not in the market for any Klipsch in the near future, since there is now NOWHERE to buy Klipsch arond here.

BB also carries one outdoor speaker, one in-ceiling model, the Rock, and three Klipsch headphone models...but not nearly the full lines like they used to.

I just remembered that I was at a local Mag/BB on Wednesday and saw a whole bunch of Klipsch References and Subwoofers. It doesn't look to me that Klipsch is going bye-bye anytime soon at Mag/BB.

Best Buy treated Klipsch speakers the same as selling dog dung. Displays totally messed up all the time, nothing worked. Toatal disaster.

According to the salesperson I spoke with, we should soon expect to see Klipsch in Wal-Marts, et al. And, if that's the case, their "high-end, premium" status would also go the way of Blue Light Specials. Apparently, Magnolia wants to maintain their image of carrying only high-end equipment, hence, their phase out of Klipsch.

Too bad because it's getting difficult to audition speakers with so much to choose from. Reminds of the early days of stereo where the idea of a listening room was just a dream, and speaker listening was a chance event.

By the way, Klipsch is high-end! 90% of the people who work for BB don't know what they're talking about. Especially those work for Magnolia.

Except the opposite is true, it's BB that is mainstream mass market and not high end audio, not Klipsch. I am sure that BB mostly sold the lower model Klipsch speakers as well. Did BB/Magnolia even stock the higher end Klipsch speakers? I don't think they did.
