Schu
I got these CW's locally yesterday, sequential numbers... is there something wrong inside these? The horns are different and the woofers are different even though they are the same model drivers.
Budman
one is original and one was updated with a newer tweeter ( square ) and a newer woofer ( round ) you might not notice anything or you might notice the newer one plays louder
DizRotus
I wouldn't use the word "wrong" to describe what you're seeing. Everything is appropriate and it's highly unlikely you'll be able to hear any difference. It is curious that consecutive serial number cabinets have different style K-77s and different style K-33s. It's possible they came from Klipsch that way. It's also possible they've received replacement parts. In either case, I wouldn't lose any sleep. Groomlakearea51
Somebody replace a square magnet woofer with a round magnet. That "R" on the woofer is the stamp used by Klipsch on replacements back then. Someone also replaced one of the K-77's. Somebody also put a couple of inline fuses to the tweets and mids. Only reason for doing that was he/she was either driving them to blown tweets, or had some problem with an amp, etc. I'd suspect the former..... Schu
Hey do sound wonderful... OBVIOUSLY. and thank you guys for easing my mind. is the fuse situation is a bummer? should I try and return them to non fuse layout?
JJkizak
Seems to me it might be really beneficial to mount the fuses on the cabinet outside so they are accessible. Mine have no fuses and have no trouble at 98db SPL average. JJK
Schu
thanks again folks... I just ordered a set of CT-125's from Bobas I have found that one tweet was not responding to several attempts to get it going.
