Boxx
Earl Scruggs was to the 5 string banjo, what Babe Ruth was to baseball... He took the banjo from being part of the rhythm section to a lead instrument.

RT FAN
I saw Bela Fleck interviewed last night where he explained how Earl Scruggs invented the 3 finger picking style & revolutionized banjo playing. A true legend from his time with Bill Monroe to his long association with Lester Flatts. One of my favorite old school country records is one he did with Tom T. Hall called "The Storyteller & The Banjoman" which includes a great version of "Song Of The South". Some great playing on that record, check it out. RIP Earl.
