Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted May 27, 2002 Klipsch Employees Share Posted May 27, 2002 Ok gang time for payback I need help. I am finally getting to start on my HT. I am looking at a Sony 1270 projector. It is use; the guy has several and will let me pick the one I want. He will include the mount and set up. I have just enough room to do a 100 screen. Projector and screen under $1500. Is this a good deal or not? If not, why? BTW: Sound is provided by Klipsch and Aragon. Front is Cornwall (all 3), sides are kp-262 and rears are KP-102. I have a homemade sub It will be a few weeks before I can start on the system. I am just now working on the walls and ceiling. Keeping sound away from upstairs is a problem, But I think we have it worked out. Thanks for any help you can give Peace TC ------------------ Trey Cannon Technical Support Klipsch Audio Technologies trey.cannon@klipsch.com 1-800-554-7724 opt
avman
specs on projector for brightness? be sure you can see it(to check overall picture quality) before you commit. lamp time also important, unit has timer built-in.replacement lamps can cost over $200. ANY warranty? i bought the sharp xvz-1u cheap, but brand-new. it does NOT display hd, and is 350 ansi-lumens, but i can darken the room, and it looks good. my next projector may be a new canon we're getting in. 1000 ansi-lumens, will display a scaled-down hd signal, cost around $2000. follow-up w/more details, and check some other forums like avs, etc. avman. ps: you're gonna LOVE that big picture!! ------------------ 1-pair klf 30's c-7 center ksps-6 surrounds RSW-15 sony strda-777ES receiver upgraded to v.2.02 including virtual matrix 6.1 sony playstation 2 sony dvpnc 650-v 5-disc dvd/cd/SACD changer dishnetwork model 6000 HD sat rcvr w/digital off-air tuner sony kv36xbr450 high-definition 4:3 tv sharp xv-z1u lcd projector w/84" 4:3 sharp screen Bello'international Italian-made a/v furniture panamax max dbs+5 surge protector/power conditioner monster cable and nxg interconnects/12 gua.speaker wire Natuzzi red leather furniture set KLIPSCH-So Good It Hz! DrWho
If you ever need some help with brute work let me know - it'd be a great excuse to swing by Indy again [] So are you not using lascalas for mains anymore? And what happened to them ultra2 monster subs? I've always enjoyed the visual products Sony puts out and going with front projection is definetly the best bang for the buck. Is this going in your basement? I think 100" might be a bit large unless you plan on changing the orientation of the room. It's annoying when you can't see the whole screen all at once. You can also zoom the projector to make the image smaller, but things look infintely better when the edge of the picture lines up with the black border of the screen. Guest " "
If you are not putting this in a basement, check your lighting conditions. I had to put frosted window inserts on my french doors as well as my main windows to get the lighting right.

IndyKlipschFan
I would still help.. I was gonna be in awe, too, if he chose the Cornwalls over the La Scalas... No offense, to CW lovers... and I had a CW system all set up myself.. 5 bought... but it was through Trey my search for La Scalas prevailed.. Bottom line is this... If you LOVE the big k horn sound... Your gonna pick La Scalas all day for a HT. It might REALLY scew me up (thinking wise) if he did this.. Of course... If you need help on anything Trey... Let me know.

JJkizak
Cornwalls are just fine, maybe better suited for HT than K-horns. JJK
colterphoto1
ah, two of those were mismatched 62 verticals if memory serves. They were sold to a man in Arkansas (Bob?) M
