Kain
Can someone please post some pictures (preferably close-ups) of their black RF-7s? I would like some pictures with grills on and some with grills off. Thanks! By the way, I am asking for these pictures because I need to know exactly with color I want the speakers in. Problem is that I cannot see the speakers before I buy as they don't have any in stock. ------------------ Coming soon... Kain
I too like the cherry color, but the thing is that the surrounds (RS-7s) only come in black or white and I will be buying the black ones. Secondly, the subwoofers also only come in black. Due to this, I thought I would get the RF-7s also in black as all my speaker would match (color wise). ------------------ Coming soon... ShapeShifter
Just buy a Cherry Entertainment Center or a Component Rack with Cherry Shelves. Kain
Ah, and one more thing. When the movies starts, I like the speakers to "fade away in the darkness." That way the speakers don't "bother" you while you are watching the movie. Secondly, I think black RF-7s with grills off look real nice too. ------------------ Coming soon... Kain
m00n, Do you think the RF-7s look nice in black? If you could do it again, would you get them in the black color or the cherry or maple color? ------------------ Coming soon... peterm
Kain64, I think RF-7 in maple is a beauty. Never buy them in black (no offense), IMO. RSW-15 also come in different flavors (RSW-12 comes only in black).

m00n
Black is fine, but you need to get them in a color that best matches your environment. I would get them in the color that is going to best please your dad. ------------------ m00nsCinema to be the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f> This message has been edited by m00n on 06-18-2002 at 04:32 PM

Kain
Well, he likes the cherry color. But the thing is that cherry RF-7s won't match the black RS-7s and the black SVS CS-Ultras. I like all my speakers to be the same color. ------------------ Coming soon... Dafishguy
Hi Kain64, Yes I will post some pics tonight when I get home from work. I have a digital camera so it shouldn't be too bad a proposition. It's interesting that you mention you want black because they will disappear once the movie starts. This is exactly why I bought the black ones. My HT is in a basement greatroom and I can control the light very well. When I play a movie, everything but the screen disappears and that's the way I like it. It pulls you into the movie much easier. Watching Private Ryan, SW Ep 1, Mission to Mars to name a few, just enthrawls me. I agree that cherry is nice. I use to own a pair or Tangent RS-8's that where cherry. Very nice indeed but I only used those speakers for music listening and I needed something to look at as I listened and these speakers where great for that. When I sit down to watch a movie I don't want any interruptions, (Just ask Mrs. Dafishguy). I also leave the grills on as I find the sweet look of the cooper drivers too distracting. I do remove them when I'm listening to music. Anyway, I will put the pics up tonight. Deang
Mine are in the drop dead gorgeous blonde maple. I also have an SVS CS+ sub -- I like the contrast of the maple and the black behind it. You need to remember that the front baffle of the RF7 is that dark grey/black high density fiberboard. The front of the speaker is black no matter which finish you get. If your dad likes the cherry, get the cherry -- it's very nice looking. Certainly better than the black. Who gives a crap what color the RS7's are -- they are on the wall behind/over your head. It's those monsterous RF7's that will be commanding attention. ------------------ Deanf>s> Cary AE-25 * S F Line 1 * S9000ES * HSU x-over * SVS CS+ * Klipsch RF7s f>s> Psalm 122:6f>c>s>

I'll wait for Dafishguy's black RF-7 pictures to come in. They will help me with my decision. ------------------ Coming soon...
