adam2434
My 7 II's have plenty of bass too - positioned about 12" from the wall in a large, open room. I have noticed that the woofers move less than I would expect at pretty high output levels - probably because the work is shared by two 10" drivers. Another factor is that brighter speakers (and the 7 II's are on the brighter side, IMO) can give one the perception that the bass is light due to the brighter tonal balance. I really want to get the best out of my klipsch rf7-ll. I will maybe add more speakers in the future. If you are definitely expanding to a multichannel system in the future, then I would wait on an AVR because of formats and technology constantly changing and just get a stereo integrated amp. There are plenty out there(new and used) that will sound great with your RF-7II's and meet your budget. http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/yamas801bl/yamaha-a-s801-stereo-integrated-amplifier-w/built-in-dac-black/1.html http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/yamas701bl/yamaha-a-s701-natural-sound-integrated-stereo-amplifier-black/1.html http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/camb651abla/cambridge-audio-azur-651a-premium-integrated-amplifier-new/1.html https://www.audiogon.com/listings/solid-state-nad-c-356dac2-c356dac2-integrated-amp-with-usb-2-0-dac-free-shipping-manufacturer-s-2016-07-12-integrateds-01060-florence-ma https://www.audiogon.com/listings/solid-state-nad-c-356bee-c356bee-integrated-amplifier-with-warranty-and-free-shipping-2016-07-29-integrateds-01060-florence-ma Bill

Lost240
I am having no issue shaking my theater with either of my Pioneer Elite receivers and the subwoofer shut off. I would check to see if you possibly have the speakers wired out of phase.
Deang
The speakers are a bass reflex design. The majority of the lower bass is being reproduced by the ports - I wouldn't expect the woofers to move much. Besides, in a two-way design, "moving woofers" means more distortion - and you definitely don't want that.
Ski Bum
You realize that the bass issues were from the OP, three years ago. Julian resurrected an old thread to pose his receiver question. Julian, if you're willing to roll the dice with vintage, there is a NAD receiver in the Garage Sale sub-forum that would suit your needs quite nicely. Deang
I didn't see that. Yeesh, what a waste of keystrokes.
