JL Sargent
Ah, holiday delay. I'm sure it will arrive any day now. Be sure to inspect before signing.
Boxx
I could easily go along with this thought, however, the unit has been sitting over at the SAIA distribution center, near Dallas, since Friday of last week. It is scheduled for delivery today before 5:00 pm. Fingers crossed.... again.
Boxx
It's here.... and the SAIA delivery guy even unloaded it for me.... (More assembly required on this one than I thought)....

Boxx
Boxx, this digital inclinometer is a great asset when drilling at different angles. It also helps calibrate many shop toys.....like table saws! http://www.amazon.com/Beall-Tool-14220-Tilt-Box/dp/B001DXFFBM There are magnets on the side allowing it to fasten onto drill bits, saws, etc. There might be Harbor Freight imitations of this that may work just as well. I've had this Tilt Box for a few years and haven't needed to look. I got one. It came in last week. Thanks for the tip.....

I also ordered a "keyless Drill chuck" last week. I hope it comes in on time. This unit is a little larger than I thought it would be. I'm glad to have a good place for it. CECAA850
This unit is a little larger than I thought it would be. A beer can in the pic would provide a good reference for scale.
Boxx
Will do.... A can of beer is always a good way to frame a photo.... lol... Also, I "snuck" in the purchase of a Craftsman 8-In. Variable Speed Grinder. It came today and it is really a nice unit.
perpetualapprentice
I also ordered a "keyless Drill chuck" last week. I hope it comes in on time. You may want to hang on to the keyed chuck... especially if you end up drilling larger holes in hardwood (metal?). Life is long - you never know what you may run up against. I missed the beginning of this thread but am very glad you found what you needed. Not to hijack but... I'm a big fan of vintage machinery. The saying - they don't make 'em like they used to definitely applies to vintage US iron ('arn) (pre mid-70s, + or - is generally a safe bet) . Built to last forever. Common in estate sales, CL, school auctions, etc. More stout than most anything in stores today and can be had for a fraction of the price. Good link for old tool pron: http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/bytype.aspx All said, the Grizzly should serve you very well. Have fun and be safe. Boxx
I have a (I think) 1940's/50's jig saw (bench top) that I inherited from my uncle. I will take a photo of it and post it. It is a really nice example of equipment from that era.
