opusk2k9
Pair of Klipsch LaScala speakers in birch. They show some wear & cabs could use a good clean up & masking tape removed. A tweeter in one speaker is not working. The diaphragms or entire tweeters can be found on eBay. Interested parties reply with phone number. Priced to sell today. $725.00 OBO If this posting is up the speakers are still available. http://syracuse.craigslist.org/ele/4502800865.html No affiliation. AA crossovers. eth2???? minermark
I just paid $825 for my second set, this is indeed a great price. that is almost a "Flipper" price, clean them up & repair/Recap easily worth the effort.
eth2
So $365 for new Crites crossovers, $175 for tweeters = $540. + $725 = $1.265 I know you could have the crossovers rebuilt and new diaphragms for the tweeters, but... Also, refinishing. Still a good deal?

Also, refinishing. Still a good deal? I just ordered my new Crites this morning, $378 to my door, I don't intend on selling these new Scalas, as they are now part of my "Double Stack", but if I did plan on selling them, cost of speaker plus upgrades is what they would be worth to me. Now refinishing, well that is a different story, I purchased mine with the intent of Referb this winter with bedliner, so I was easy. These are going to take a little work, but from what iv seen on this forum, these could be a show stopper, as in perfect.
eth2
My first attempts at any woodworking were pairs of Hersey I's and a Hersey II's. The I's came out great, but they were already in good, unfinished condition. The II's were a different story. I used a belt sander...DUMB! Next time I will only use a sanding block. Also, polyurethane is tricky. Not sure I am ready to refurb a LaScala to "mint" condition. Must say, I did enjoy the attempts at refurbishing the cabs. eth2
Called back. Masking tape on cabs. Couldn't tell me why he did not take it off. "Some veneer" missing from corners, "but nothing serious." Some scratches. "Sound great" except for that tweeter that does not work. Guess I will take a ride to see them as they are about 30 minutes from me. opusk2k9
I have been there and surprisingly still have a wife. We developed a code: Me: "I am driving this weekend" Her: "Do I even want to know?" Me: "Probably not." Her: "When will you be back?" Me: "It will be a while" Then, the long awkward silence...
